El resultado fue Picasso, que con 42 cuerdas es la única guitarra-arpa que existe y tal vez el instrumento más extraño que se haya inventado.

Desde 1992 existe una versión acústica, la Picasso II para Scott Chinery.

hear it is....the famed Pikasso guitar.

Four necks. Two sound holes. 42 strings. Two access doors; one on the upper player's side and one at the tail block.

Created by luthier Linda Manzer for guitarist Pat Metheny, the instrument took 2 years to build (approximately 1000 hours), and when the 42 strings are strung up to high tension, the Pikasso is under approximately 1000 lbs pressure. It weighs 6.7 kg or 14 3/4 lbs.

This particular piece is actually called "The Sound of Water". Into the Dream was the first tune he wrote on this guitar off of Imaginary Day.

When I saw him live a few months ago he announced this tune as "The Sound of Water". Listen to the recording of both, you'll see what I mean.

Yo estuve en este concierto y tengo el audio completo, aunque de mala calidad, fue precioso.

Animo a todo aquel que no haya asistido a conciertos de tanto calibre como los de Metheny, pues no es un hombre que haga un tipo de musica en especial, ni es un tipo facilmente describible en el ambito musical, el ha creado su propio estilo, su propio movimiento, ha creado sentimientos unicos en el espectador, es, simplemente, Metheny.

I was a jazz guitar player myself for more than a decade, this is why I can say Pat´s finger picking technique is boring,It is easier to play harp music in a weird guitar than to create something actually new in a standard 6 string guitar

Actually, I believe the spelling is Pickasso. It was built for Metheny by Canadian luthier extraordinare, Linda Manzer after being designed by her and Metheny.
