  • I really like the shows from the 60s 70s and 80s

  • Anyone know what went WRONG with 'Please Sir !' in series four ?

John Alderton left after only two episodes...it looked like a decent replacement teacher had been found in Richard Warwick as David ffitchet-Brown, but after three funny episodes he was sidelined (and quickly left the show)...

...thereafter it went RIGHT DOWNHILL with some awful yobbish new kids and really WEAK infantile unfunny scripts...the once superb show died a sad death !

  • @Billo912

probably it was merged with another secondary modern and a grammar school and had 2000 pupils, a bit like happened with my school.

  • I have been looking for this song for ages! It was a tune they used to play in don't forget your toothbrush! Thanks!!

  • Interested to see this was created by the same people who were behind The Good Life.

  • Please... guys! Can someone tell me if it was "that" Richard Warwick who played Wallace in the movie "If..." by Lindsay Anderson, the same actor which played also David Ffitchett-Brown in 6 episodes of "Please sir!" from October to December 1971? If yes, can you tell me where I can find these episodes? I'm a big fan of that underrated actor and I'm trying to find every work he made. Thaaank youuu!

  • Ah, this used to be on saturday afternoon back in the 80's! Great days!

  • haha. The real name for it is "School's out".

  • oh yay! love this theme tune (long before 'my time' but a while back this channel on sky had a please sir/fenn street gang marathon - showing all the best episodes)

  • does anyone know what this theme tune is called plz????????

  • I think it is called simply "please sir theme" as it would have been specially composed for the series.

  • Another song called "Tandenborstel Jive" by C'est Tout was based on this theme tune. watch?v=jj69weGEcfU
