  • Mogwai, the best kept secret underground music. i love this band

  • I need a person with good taste in music , i need an opinion about a song of my band its a post rock band, the song is called "Whales in the sky" go to my channel its the only video i have. i dont if we should keep going or quit with the band thank i will really apreciate it. for the love to good music

  • if you like epic instrumentals like we do(!), you should search thieves of the american dream

  • need to survive the emo power AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGG

  • seeing them in april so freggin excited

  • looks fun! XD

  • Splendid sound breaking!!

  • Great song, i never had listened this band, the sound is so perfect, amazing pieces of music.

  • video doesn't really do it justice.

  • i was there. there so good live

  • I saw them when come on.. came out, do they still always have synched up stock footage at their shows?

  • holy shit this is humongous :o

    5***** and fav =^,-,^=

    ok.bye bye.

  • They're a badass band, and with the music cranked up as much as it was.. I can't help but to wonder why the crowd isn't a little more.. roweled up? Awesome performance!

  • They're entranced, man! At least I was when I saw em, I had my eyes closed a lot of the time...not because I was bored but because their sound is that indulgent.

  • Fair enough, I can see that =D

  • I'm a douchebag because I experience and enjoy their music in a matter that doesn't involve hopping about or whatever? Fuck off, you crusty, pulsating cunt scab. Of course I didn't sit there with my eyes closed during Batcat, I'm not THAT weird.

  • hahaha crusty pulsating :P

    LEGEND!

  • @reh686 yeah man, same experience for me, its just too much.

  • jesus christ, i must see them live

  • oh yes.

  • You must. I saw them for the first time last month, it was far and away the loudest, most ball-crushing performance I've ever witnessed. They're fucking incredible.

  • and it's amazing that they're like that every single time. I love every show I go to of theirs.

  • @lemaster092 ^^

  • Man i saw these guys a couple days ago and tis is my favorite song, but did they play it nope,,WTF I waited anxiously for 2 hours,,,how could they not play this its their best song by far

  • Yea I saw them yesterday in Omaha, they did play this and it was fucking amazing. The lighting at the concert was awesome tho and fit all the songs perfectly

  • Second loudest band I've seen live - first was My Bloody Valentine - both were amazing. Especially this.

  • llllllllllloooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeee mogwai

  • Will you fuck off and stop trying to stick, what is quite clearly your band, down everyones throats. Now stop leaving this comment on every mogwai video!!

  • i love you guys the lights and beeps make it sound like a transmit to another galaxy

  • It was my song of the year in 2006. I cant believe that people arent hip to them(Mogwai)

  • Best Song ever

  • i had never heard of mogwai until i went and saw them in perth wa,thought it was goin 2 b shit but they were really gd! Only thing wrong was tht i spotted the drummer had a celtic scarf on his drums lol

  • They are a scottish band and thus im not suprised that there was a celtic scarf present.

  • I think that you missed the point.

The person posting the comment probably supports Rangers.

They're from Glasgow. You know. Big Rangers - Celtic rivalry.

    Don't be thick.

  • they're from bellshill

as were teenage fanclub, vaselines and jesus and the mary chain

  • Possibly, didn't think of that as the poster seems to be american - though some follow football. I dont appreciate being insulted but I may have missed the point having read celtic and not Celtic, a symptom of not thinking about what I write. I was in no way implying that all scots support Celtic :-P

  • This is one of those songs that you have to hear live to fully appreciate it. It's a sonic assault on your ears, body, mind and soul. You just have to stand there and let it wash over you.

  • MOGWAI ROCKS!!!

  • this vid complete me!

    huh!

    awesome.

    beautiful.

    complete.

  • This song is fucking great! It's simply a masterpiece! I love it so much althought it makes me kind of sad...=(

By the way..When we talk about great musicians/Bands...

Check out the band "Nyctalgia" (Their Song "Falling into nothingness" or "Time Changed everything").

A great newcomer I think...and people who like mogwai,Sigur Ros,Yann Tiersen, etc will like this one..It's not my band but worth checking it out!

It's curious that only a few people checked them out until now..

  • Sigur Ros, too. Eits is great though.

  • This song is such a monster. I turn the bass on full blast and just ride. I love it.

  • What about Glasgow Mega-Snake?

    That song is amazing!

  • love that one, one of my favorites from Mogwai

  • Mr Beast is my least favorite Mogwai record but this track is one of their very best

  • What?! Mr. Beast is near perfect! C'mon, don't tell me you prefer Young Team.

    Ah well, different strokes.

  • Mogwai rocks. Auto Rock is still the best.

  • this was the best show i've ever been to. Stubbs is also a great venue.

  • Great video.

An awesome song to end Mr. Beast.

  • God is an astronaut is amazing as well, I wouldn't say they are as skilled musically as Mogwai, but they put on the best live show I have ever seen. This song is just sooo amazing though, the part that starts at 3:12 is soo brilliant/stunning. I've been blowing my car speakers from this and Glasgow mega-snake for a year and it never gets old lol.

  • I'm gonna go ahead and mention God Is An Astronaut. If you even remotely like Mogwai, you'll adore GIAA.

  • Thankyou for this, I've checked them out and they are indeed amasing. Can't wait to see them live.

  • Then you should check This Will Destroy You out. One of my favorites.

  • you should also check out 65daysofstatic...different sound but same vein and just as amazing.

  • now 'em, they ARE great.

  • all of the above are great. truly awesome. and they all cater to the same music taste. get involved.

  • check out Explosions in the sky

  • oh come on:D

  • i love mogwai, but below people were recomending similar bands, so i requested Explosions in the Sky because the are defenetly my favorite band that is similar to mogwai.

  • i didn't mean to offend, eits is just a band you know, if you know mogwai. but yeah, they are great, propably my favorite post rockers besides this will destroy you:)

  • Mogwai and Unwound should get together

  • totally agree

  • i checked out that band you named below, music was ok, vocals sucked. mogwai are much better.

  • Sounds gooood!

  • Can anyone tell me if they still tour the southern part of the UK?

  • They should definitely use to 'gwai to soundtrack the next proper zombie film.

That would be the fucking bollocks!

  • class.....everything else pales in comparison

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • mogwai fucking rock,if you like this tune check out glasgow mega snake

  • Nah check out superheroes of bmx, hunted by a freak, killing all the flies and 2 rights make 1 wrong.

  • fuck me.

    that's ace

    nuff said

  • No thanks, not while there are dogs on the street ;-)

  • I just love how the sound of this song is so crushing. They should make a live album.

  • they did, it's called government commissions

  • This is pretty good,

But not a single post-rock band is getting close to Godspeed you black emperor.

  • True, but c'mon. You can't compare those two. GYBE is more dramatic and monstrous than other bands. Mogwai wants to get its message across and be done with it. Mogwai can touch you with so little, whereas GYBE touches with thunder and lightning. Not for the impatient.

  • Plus, GYBE use more instruments. Mogwai is mostly guitar with a few other instruments as opposed to Explosions who are guitar-oriented. I love them both so I wouldn't be able to pick the best but I think it's easier to listen Mogwai than GYBE b/c GYBE is lengthy and sometimes over dramatic, often taken a while to build up.

  • Dude, don't forget about Mono, very dramatic and yet focused. Gotta love the post-rock scene.

  • Man, don't you know I've stop listening to all of my other music just for post-rock? I love it. It goes beyond the definition of what's considered to be Rock. We can't forget about Isis, Red Sparowes, MUM, Sigur Ros, Clogs (although they are more on the classical side than rock side, Mogwai - I mean, there are countless but only a few that are good.

  • One of my favorites lately has been God is an Astronaut. Cult of Luna, too even though they're more in the vein of Isis. "Post-Metal" I guess.

  • If you like Post-Metal, then try The Fucking Champs. They have some of the coolest riffs today. You'll be banging your head all day.

  • hear what your saying, have you checked out god speed you black emperor, they are amazing

  • Godspeed is the Titan of post rock, I think. Also don't forget about Explosions in the Sky.

  • rookie

  • b tyre

  • MOGWAI .... SCOTLAND... nuff said.

  • mogwai, tens une historia d'ells?

    si no ho busco.

estare mes temps amb tu. soc la tere la teva companya de coxte. la extrangera, pero molt conoguda de tito.

  • Nice, but where is Colin?? :-O

  • love this song. i'm new to mogwai.

  • Un groupe extra ordinaire... A voir de toute urgence sur scène, ils aiment ce qu'ils font, cela se voit sur scène ils prennent leur pied.

Leur dernier album est epoustouflant !!!

  • that`s exactly what it is...

  • If somebody asked u an explanation abt post-rock and of course u couldn't answer him in a proper way, just let him listen to this track, and he'll be absolutely aware of wut's going around in music...It will be some kinda' weird for him in the very first time, but tell him try to cope with the noise and distortions somehow and i promise u he'll be addicted and not cured...

This track is the meaning of "post-rock"...

It's what u expect from "MUSIC"...

  • GENIALL ;)

  • this song is in the film Miami vice, and another song of mogwai too. This group its great :D i desire that they will go to spain

  • Yea this song and auto rock is in miami vice. good stuff.

  • excellent! highlight of the miami vice film, when this song kicked in wow!

  • godamn..

  • Mogwai rocks

  • To the guy that said Miami Vice- I wasn't gonna see that movie, but the second I heard 2 Mowgai songs were in it, I hopped in my car and saw it. Great Stuff.

  • I must see these guys live.

  • oh yes you should ! it's a travel, and this one is not dangerous

  • on the album, support great music n buy it, its worth it. *proud to be scottish*

  • so you should be. Mogwai are the best. Often copied never equalled

  • Awesome song. Miami vice? anyone know where theres a better quality version.

  • yay for bein scottish!!

  • Terrible audio quality.

  • duh, it was on a digital camera

  • I Like this song =D

  • why is mogwai so damn incredible.

    i wish i was scottish.

  • that song is so loud when played live. probably Mogwai's most brutal sludgy song, you can see the isis, envy, part chimp and bardo pond influence in this one I reckon. Love it!

  • Only mogwai. <3

  • bitchin' man

  • hahah
