  • CANT ANY 1 SHOW THE DAM FRONT CONNECTORS >.<

  • Why these psu are so expensive ???

  • [...] you need to know what rails are. Rails are....

    EVERY SINGLE TIME!

  • Rodney's PC hardware reviews are easily the best on YouTube. Pity this particular PSU often develops a loud clicking sound from the fan (see other YouTube videos and the Enermax forums).

  • Rodney, You are Awesome at what you do! Super Excellent, you should be on TV or Radio, very professional. I worked in the arts and entertainment business for years, you have got some serious talent and communication skills!

  • I don't mind you talking like a robot, as long as you enjoy doing it.

  • I don't mind you talking like a robot as long, as you enjoy doing it.

  • can this run 3 GTX 480's? with 3 8 pins and 3 6 pins

  • @AznUnboxer no

  • iz thiz pee ess yew compateebil wif mi anoos?

  • AND Y ISNT THE 1250W VERSION NOT AVAILABLE IN NORTH AMERICA!!!!??? >:( RACIST BASTARDS!!!1

  • @BananaBean03 hes daft, ppl can get 220v outlets, 230v actually, its whats dryers use i think lol, not practical, not common, BUT it can be done relatively easy

  • hi may i know if this power supplies fit on Obsidian Corsair? coz im planning to put dual loop, beside of the psu i'm going to put 2 rads by removing bay below

  • 3.3v is too low?

  • can it run quad core 5970 x2?

    I just bougt that

  • yes

  • @DjHardbeat2 You're better off with 1200w for that.

  • Getting this PSU and a 2nd 5850 ^^

  • @DjHardbeat2 +

    Tristansletter

    For 2 HD5850 =700w

    5970x2=900w

    __________________

    1050w is crazy

  • 5970 uses 300W at max because it has 6-and 8-pin power connectors (at least the reference model)

75W from PCI Express x16 lane

    75W from 6-pin

    150W from 8-pin

    = 300W

  • Future head from is always a plus, I also have a mobo that has 4 PCI ports for crossfire.

And if you have the money your gonna go and buy one =D

  • @1mper1alGuardsMen Aware of all this ^^ I plan on getting 2 more 5850s or something along those lines.

  • wow! i havent seen the 100kickass product rating for a long time...

  • I wonder if the power supply quiet.

  • I have a Tagan TG600-U33 600W psu

  • hahahaha POS

  • ENERMAX TFW and BEST HIGH QUALITY

Click at my name, then klick up right at uploads and watch my ENERMAX 1205 W MOD

    ENJOY :)

  • Which do you think, this, or the Corsair CMPSU-1000HX

  • TY for this video!

  • Klick at my name 2 see the ENERMAX 1250 W MOD !

    Enjoy :)

  • This PSU is a MONSTER ! Im gonna buy one soon

  • At first I used to joke around with my buddy about these videos, but with time, I came to appreciate them. Very nice quality, and informative, too. Easily the best Youtube reviewer when it comes to computer hardware.

  • you think that this video has been made for people who dont know anything about computer? :-)

  • not like im bashing him or anything, but his videos are too technical for people who dont know much about build comps and stuff.

  • he does gaming parts mostly, because gamers are the #1 people who build their own computers, so they would know what he is talking about.

tigerdirect does reviews also, so when i get confused what he says, i look at theirs. lol

  • What a sexy power supply

  • @Bl0odB4th

If you determined to mate with it, i'd suggest you turn it off first :p

  • at xlordjeevesx comment

  • 'Look for a power supply that uses Japanese capacitors'. Err just because it uses Japanese caps doesn't mean it will be any more reliable/stable - there are PSUs with so-so caps that outperform some Japanese cap models.

  • note that the motherboard tray is not removable.

  • lol at that comment...

  • lol

  • but for some people it is not an issue.

  • @xLordJeevesx Wah?

  • what i was disappointed about was that it costs £200 but has some captive cables and is only half modular.

  • great review

  • Great review. One small comment on the editing though. Using that white text when you have a white background makes it very hard to read :-(. If the text was a shade of grey or even just black, it would be so much easier to read.

Thinking of getting the 850 watt version of this PSU, it's just got so many great features!

  • how can you check to see how much V your power supply does on your computer

  • V = 110 (power line)

    did u mean A?

  • enermax

    pc power n cooling

    corsair

are the best 3 in that order

  • PC P&C is the best if looking at the electric engineering. They're engineered beoynd the level of other PSU's. More handmade than others. One massive rail that gives 50-120A's etc.

    Enermax is good too.

  • Well my fellow nerds, I mean it.

    I have this

    EVga 790I ftw eDITION

    EVga GTX 260 SSC

    Domino ALC

    Cooler master Storm sniper

Blu-ray drive, is this enough? the 1050watts enermax, or should i go with the 850watts or 950 watts?

  • 850watts are more than enough ;)

  • uhhh your not even using 700.. .LOLZ

  • So why do some mofos tell me I need around 1000 watts?

Hmm, maybe they want me to spend more than I need.

  • For your rig, an 850W Corsair would do. Even the 750. I don't know about the Enermax's though

  • the companies that make the best PSU's

    1. corsiar

    2. enermax

    3. silverstone

    4. ocz

  • I don't really like OCZ power supplies, because they have too high ripple and can be quite loud. Thermaltake make better power supplies than OCZ, imo

  • i never used a thermaltake

but i use ocz for my older hand me down P4 pcs because their cheap and and reliable, also the fatality series is exceptional

but if money was no object i would by the pc power and cooling 1200 wtt for a price tag of 600$

for me the silverstone and enermax delivers for their $300 price range of 1200wtts

  • enermax's psus are better than corsair's

  • i just started using enermax

corsair has been faithful to me for the last 4 years.

  • believe me, fried 300, 550, and a 700 wt psu's in my lifetime

if your planing on a 260 triple sli then your going to need a 100wt

remember what power consumption reaches 60% or more that what your psu can deliver it will be under stress can begin to decline in stability

you should buy a psu that has a 25% overhead of what you need, never borderline but just getting what you need your playing with fire.

  • I understand.

But I'm never gonna run tri-sli, MAYBE duo but never three, for now I think 850 is good enough for one.

  • if you are planing a 2x sli set up and you have multiple hard drives and dvd drives with any type of high performance memory, cpu and motherboard then you will need a 1000 wt just in case

when the power demand reach the limit of a PSU it begins to cook may take a few months but it will burn out, 25% extra power is need to prevent this

  • Alright, I went with a Cooler Master UCP (Ultimate) 700 Watt PSU, it was a combo deal with the Cooler Master Storm Sniper. I've made up my mind that this is what I'll be running: Q9650 790i FTW GTX 260 Superclocked BluRay Player Drive Some 20 dollar burner VelociRaptor CoolIt Domino ALC MAYBE: Blackmagic Intensity Pro Capture Card Is it enough?
  • It'll be enough, as long as you don't plan on watching a Blu-Ray, play a game, record in 1080p and burn a DVD all at the same time :P.

Heck you can even run 2xGPU on a 600 watt PSU :).

  • can you pleas make a video, why is it so importaint to have a big power suply an why should i upgrade my power suply , does my pc run or preforme faster if i instal a biger power suply

(sorry ba verry bad bad english)

    from oddha, pleas answer

  • will it fit in coolermaster cosmos s case

  • yes

  • yes, it is standard ATX.

  • This is actually the PSU Rodney uses in his rig.

  • yeah lol, thats y its gr8! and iam getting one for my new i7 rig with EVGA X58 CLASSIFIED! and dominators GT

  • can you pare 3gtx 285 with this psu?

  • yes

  • 2 GTX 295's are cheaper and more powerful than 3 285's.

  • They stutter like a bitch though in Quad SLI.

  • NEGATIVE

  • hey were can i buy this power supply from? i live in the uk and please dont say ebay

  • form amazon or form scan

  • Master power supply !

best brand out there ! and also they should give this 1 a gold 80+

  • it sure does deserve its 100% kickass rating!

  • This is the best power supply on the market.

  • RODNEY!!! :P

which power supply is better Corsair HX1000w or this one? and where can i get the 1250W cuz my wall socket supports 220V!!! i need it for my new gaming core i7 , 3 GTX 285 ssc.

  • They are both pretty good and I don't know if the rest of ur setup is alot like many HDD's or something but the HX1000 would be enough.

  • If anyone could help with my issue. I appreciate any answers and Thank you in advance.

    This is wanted custom PC:

    -EVGA nForce 790i Ultra ATX

-EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX *OR* GTX+

-Intel Corde 2 QUAD Q6600 2.4 Ghz(I don't know what overclocked means but i want it to 3)

    -Western D 1 TB 7200RPM

    -LG Blu-Ray player

    -CoolIT Systems PURE CPU 1000

-4GB of RAM then upgrading it to 8GB

Thanks to everyone again to take there time to read and post!

  • Is it ROHS certified?

  • An awesome review once again!Keep the good work!!!

  • Please stop reviewing power supplies. Ok so you're apparently being paid since all you're doing is going over the features. There's a lot more to a power supply than what the PC reads as the voltage. You're leaving out all the important parts, sure you can have a 1000w power supply that's reading the correct numbers at any given load but for example it could have so much ripple it destroys all your hardware.

These reviews are reckless and dangerous to people who may be trusting you.

  • agreed, it is not all about how many watts it is. you also have to check into the amps on the 12v rails and the quality of the parts that it is made of

  • he did you ignoramus

  • Well, go somewhere else to protest since your not interested in his reviews.

  • that is on a PSU by PSU test and can't be reviewed. . .

  • This is total overkill for every normal costumer. This review was not bad but it creates the pretence that high watt PSU is something you need. Also your recommondations for normal users (500W) is much to high. Normal gaming PCs are fine with 300-400W, high efficant(80+), quality PSU. Even for quadcore, SLI/CF configuratins a 400-500w PSU is more then enough.

  • how much is all the models ??? and where online can u buy them

  • that is one extremely noisy fan

  • I dont understand why this PSU have the same cables as the old Galaxy ??? And the inside is too much similar as the Galaxy. The real improvements are the Ahmpere on all rails

  • There is some strange noise, when you turned the psu on... the fan itself is quiet, but it sounds like the fan is hitting the grill..?

  • i miss the outtakes! :-(

  • Everyone knows PC power and cooling make the best power supplies. A single 12 volt rail and a non modular cable design are more efficient than multiple 12 volt rails and modular cables. If you want the best get the 1200 watt pc power and cooling.

  • But, a modular design is so much more handy that the small efficientcy difference will be overshadowed

  • is it better than the be quiet dark power pro?

  • Great review.

  • omg! i want your test rig!

    dual 4870x2 ftw ^_^

  • This PSU beats all on the market in the present !

  • Sorry but this is TRUE, ENERMAX PSU FTW !!

  • when does this release? Been floating about for ages but no where has it!

  • Nice :D

  • Great review!

    5/5

  • take care of what?

  • Take care of yourself.

  • Thermaltake 1500w for you then...

  • No it is not a waste of money, this power supply can support Triple SLI GTX 280s. Trust me if you want the best power supply on the market, this is it.

  • Not saying your wrong, but the power supply reviewed was 1050 watt. The 1250 watt version is most likely the best on the market.

  • Perhaps, but what rig will ever require 1250 watts of power? An overclocked Triple SLI Core i7 rig uses about 800 watts during load...

  • The 1250W model is 220V, not available in North America.

  • That was tested in your extreme gaming computer in the lian-li wasnt it :)

  • Hey spenny thanks mate for reply.

  • Enermax also make many other brand name power supplies.

  • 6 12V rails with 30A each... Hmm doesn't that mean the total amps on the 12V rail is 180A???

  • There's overlap. It's pretty rare for a multiple-rail PSU to have distinct supplies for each rail.

  • Two 100% Kickass products in a row, awesome.

  • never heard of this brand before, looks pretty kickass!

  • This power supply looks really cool with the rough finish with red and black

  • nice

  • wow hes really slowed down when hes talking! 5/5

  • very fast intro rofl

  • This power supply was made with the same technology found in Powerthirst

  • this power supply was made by punching babies !

  • fucking logan gay phrase lol

  • that's one sexy power supply

  • 1050 Watts?! IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND !!!!!!

  • lol

  • no... actually its not

  • I believe you mean over 900...lol

  • Lol, nice one

  • Check the 12v rail.

    Voltage X Current = Wattage

  • very quiet

  • Why have a Kilowatt when you can have 1.5 Kilowatts?

  • true,,,100% kick ass,, nice video dude as usual

  • Wow that is an amazing power supply. Looks like I need to upgrade to an Enermax!

  • Enermax power supplies are pretty much the only power supply that I fully trust, never had a problem with any other them, and have used them in client systems for several years now.

  • NEAT

  • This thing is crazy!

    Its powerful and futureproof.

    Good review Rodney!

  • I honestly wouldnt say its futureproof :p

The more we can shrink the process of making circuits the less power they will need. TMSC recently announced that they are ready for beginning to make 32 Nm circuits and AMD is building a factory in new york for just this purpose.

So, the more into the future we get the less power our systems will drain. :)

  • lol like some guy said this 1gb hard drive you will never fill it ever.(ages ago) o really lol?

  • well then wouldn't it be futureproof if it can supply all the power we'll need?

  • Because its just way overkill. Ah well, perhaps electricity also will be cheaper in the future.

Also more wattage result in more heat, and that in a louder fan.

  • A power supply doesn't use the maximum eRWS wattage 100% of the time.

it uses only enough electricity the that the devices are pulling at the time. Only a small amount is loss during the conversion and that depends on its efficiency.

The bonus of getting a power supply which is rated for more than you actually use, is that the fans on most power supplies will run at lower speeds which result in low noise.

  • well said :)

  • Well said and check out my #111 - Question/Answer: Actual PSU Wattage Consumption Video

  • Yes they only drain as much power as is needed. But you have to consider that most PSU efficent is best at 50% load. With such a big PSU you will waste enegy, 'cause it never gets near 50% Load.

  • You realize we're talking about a 80 plus PSU and that specification requires multi-output power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater.

  • And you realize that 20% of 1050W is 210W. The 80+ programm tests at 20% as a minimum. But normal PC's will have a idel wattage below 20%, and there most PSUs efficency goes down to 70%. So you will defently waste Energy. PSUs are most efficent at 50% Load. So if you look for a PSU you should look for a PSU that is at 50% Load when your PC is at Load.

  • 999th youtube video

    anything special for 1k?

  • ditto

  • nooo

  • impresive psu, cool review.

  • Rodney, How much would you say can run 3 gtx 260's in tri sli?

  • I would recommend a quality 800-1000W PSU.

  • I have a silverstone 850 watt psu. and Im currently running 1 gtx 260 core 216, do you think i could run 3?

  • check on the back of the box. it should say how many watts you need

  • 182w*3, i think yeah it should run 3 of them in sli.

  • I prefere the Thermaltake Thoughpower 1200w :)

  • another item added to my youtube favourites list and my imaginary ''dreams'' list :D

  • Yea and it should be. This is one of the most efficient & feature rich PSUs currently on the market.

  • yep, i like that it has these future proof cable connections

  • cool!!

  • That's because there are lots of people who haven't watched my PSU video reviews. If ya don't like listening to it over and over again please just skip forward ;) I would suggest watching all of the video review though because this product has a lot of new and interesting features.

  • so many power supply reviews

  • nice

  • 1250w?! the hell you need that for O.O

  • i know ive seen a tri sli core 2 extreme rig powered by a 1010w psu.

  • LoL its just backup for everything

  • Also, that model (1250W) is 220V and doesn't meet 80+ Silver certification. Its not available in North America.

  • good review!

  • Looks insane.
