I studied with Djula too. He worked me so hard!  Thanks to him I'm playing in a cabaret as well as at a Czech restaurant and at parties. He taught me the tricks I needed to know in order to be a better-than-average accordion player. The U.S. booted his butt back to Serbia on a technicality. Is it ashamed? Didn't think so.

Listening to accordion, especially romanian sounds move me so deeply. I have a dream, that I will one day travel around the world with musicians in a gypsy caravan and dance in alternative venues...

I'm only 15, but I am now determined to start learning to play accordion as quickly as possible! Thank you for that inspiration...

Very interesting. Some snippit of lovely sound. If only the young gypsies around here (Veliko Tarnovo,Bulgaria) had as much passion for "their music", as they have for whatever I might have that they don't, we would get on so well. A family has recently moved-in just by and their sound system plays loud drunken wailing noises.  I guess they believe it is music ? Romance is fine. But how to save Romantics from the rest of it !

I can really relate with your passion, i just came back from romania, traveling through gypsy band with my accordion. I live in hawaii, i'm pretty much the only accordionnist here and my passion for gypsy music is so huge and so deep.... i'm trying to find some connection about this kind of playing and maybe share through skype... i'm teaching myself as well and need to get inspired with others right now.... anyway maybe we can connect. ;) melissa
