  • 'TRAIN BY DAY.....JOE ROGAN PODCAST BY NIGHT....ALL DAY"

  • My bjj coach told me its the virtually the same as whats called a "Pillory Choke", which is a forearm trachea choke set up from mission control.

  • favorited

  • And look at all these other couch experts on this page. Yoyohodown98, that is NOT an official move. So maybe YOU should double check next time you're trying to sound like a Jiu Jitsu expert on YouTube... jackass. Go do some training & get off the couch.

  • Wow Joe rogan just renamed a fucking official move on t.v. Id double check next time FAIL

  • I woulda called it the super ultimate choke of death

    but whateva

  • and this didnt get sub of the night. thanks to cody mkenzie

  • I don't know how he didn't get Submission of the Night!

  • @danman367, why would it be called an armless triangle? You don't use arms in a normal triangle unless you put on the head and in this finish he DOES use his arm, stupid name IMO (no offence mate)

  • @thescattman it's called armless triangle because a normal triangle requires one of the victim's arms to be in the triangle. This one can be done without the victims arm.

  • @thunyakijmax VICTIM

  • that was a cool choke.

  • Its called an armless triangle, like my post so people know

  • its called a armless triangle

  • did he say thats very interesting dick? were gonna talk about this? at 1:00

  • That was a beautiful choke. Kudos to Nick Pace.

  • Losing his mind?

    How about mildly excited.

I've heard a much crazier Rogan than that.

  • Bloodyelbow has a nice article on the choke, google "nick pace judo chop".

  • That's a weird one. Like an omaplata with a forearm instead of the shin, locked in by a triangle.

  • Rogans commentary / interviews are top notch. If you try to replace him with an average joe it would really take away alot from the ufc.

  • Couldn't he just have postured up and grabbed Pace's foot? I mean, it doesn't seem like it's that hard to get out of.

  • @Lyingaboutmyage I'm not sure about that, it seemed that by the time he knew he was getting choked it was already locked in too tightly. I'm no expert though.

  • @Renny934

Probably. It just seems like 1) you could grab the guys hand and control his wrist or 2) grab the foot and crank down, putting pressure on the leg.

It was pretty inventive, but I think Rogan went a little crazy for something that was clever but not awe inspiring.

  • @Lyingaboutmyage once the forearm is secure under the jaw, it would be difficult to get out of.

  • @Lyingaboutmyage You've never trained in Jiu Jitsu... have you? It's pretty easy to sit on the couch & say "damn, that looks sooo easy." isn't it? =D

  • @Lyingaboutmyage I've done this choke in training... the idea usually is to provide uncomfortability to your opponent and open up a pass or a transition... very rare that someone taps out from it... such a low percentage choke that it's not even considered a choke

  • "Tapout by Submission" No shit Bruce

  • @MS2042745SM well people have tapped from punches

  • @Mirrabam submission = tapout. you submit yourself by tapping. look up the word. getting choked uncouncious isn't submission, it's... murder? :)

  • @yrrahyrrah exactly you submit from getting punched.. which is tapping out. but i see your point

  • @Mirrabam Yes you can submit from getting punched, correct. But I was referring to when you're choked uncouncious. That's not submission.. That's referee savage or something :p

  • @yrrahyrrah Nope you wrong.. its a technical submission if they get choked unconsious... and to answer your question about death, no pro MMA fighters let go of the hold instantly we the referee stops it or if they feel there opponent go limp... in a street fight if you keep squeezing after there out, yes im pretty sure they would have to die, lol.

  • @iRebirth93

Yeah sure, technical submission. Thats just bullshit to make it sound cool. Submission = giving up.

Yeah of course they don't die cause the referee stops the fight. But that's referee savage!

  • @MS2042745SM You can tapout from strikes

  • The Pace Choke

  • @cyperz11 ...IT'S ACTUALLY CALLED THE PILLORY CHOKE.
