too bad the f35 is going to replace it. that gau-8 is one of a kind

The A-10 will be replaced in the air force in around 2028 although it may still be seen in the U.S. national guard which generally have older aircraft.

@trav1971 Nope, F35s are going to escort A10s and are going to be best buds until 2040+ the A10, F35, few F22s, and B2 will be the only remaining Piloted planes. xD

@gvstaylor i think they have new plans for the B1 to..and the E-3 Sentry will probably still be around..

the f-18 and f-15 will probably be around till 2020 possibly

the air force is looking to upgrade the f-15..oh and the f-16 should stay its such a versatile plane and used for everythingg, close air support, wild weasel, etc.
