You're telling me. I usually don't get up until 11:00 or so now. When I do wake up at 7:00 or 8:00, I immediately go back to sleep. Sometimes I manage to keep myself up by putting on DVDs of (what else) old school classic cartoons. Why all the networks think animation is suddenly so taboo is beyond me.
ahaha i totally remembered Barbizon when i saw it and that noise BurrTHHA i think that was Shot Gun Tom Kelly? Oh thanks for sharing this! I was just searching for commercials, and this was the second one i watched.. cool we were both in San Diego as kids!
I so agree about that the Kids today don't know what they are missing. Fox Kids was awesome!! i cant believe Fox isn't showing cartoons anymore on Saturdays. I blame 4KIDS TV for ruining it though! The shows on Fox ever since Fox Kids was taken over by Fox Box in 2002 just werent the same anymore. this stinks!!
Now we have Mega Man 9 today for those of you who have lost track, and it still keeps it's classic gameplay well! TMNT still airs on weekends, but it's nothing like the old show! Tiny Toons was OK, but I liked the classic Looney Tunes better even back then when they aired them on Nickelodeon! The 80's scene didn't totallly disappear until the end of this year. 7-digit phone numbers (at 1:34) are rare these days, and the fonts were cooler back then as well.
yes these cartoons do bring back memories! they need to go back to the classic animation and bring back the good cartoons. everything nowadays is just completely stupid and worthless. not to mention if i had kids i wouldn't let them watch a bunch of the newer cartoons that are out these days
...Which, I might add, won't even be 4Kids TV anymore. For the first time in over 2 decades Fox is going without a single cartoon block (not counting the adult stuff like the Simpsons or Family Guy).
I think it's part of a Steve Windwood song. I recognize it. Something my mom used to listen to when I was a kid....If I figure it out, I'll post it here.
Sorry about all the multiple replies... stupid computer lag took it forever to post just one comment, so I thought maybe I hadn't pressed the button... and then the 80+ copies showed up.
hey! I remmber this! A better time for San Diego TV, I used to watch 51 all the time, same with channel 6 and when they got some kick ass stuff later in the 90's channel 69... now a days, it's crap.
but hey, we live in the age of technology and piracy. Wanta watch old episodes of NInja Turtles, even though it's on DVD? Go to this link and pray it still works.
there is no Saturday morning cartoons left. there is no reason to get up on saturday mornings. i use to get up at 7;00 in the morning every weekend

Actually, it's quite simple: networks have learned paid programming/infomercials are more profitable.

"Oh my god, it's Ethan Hawke!"

My wife is going to have our kid in July. We both agree that our kids will be missing out without Saturday morning cartoons. *sigh*

If you have any DVDs of the classics you can at least show them the old school greats.

I had the grey version of the ninja sword and the suit that went with it too.

The transation between ads was weird.
An advert between TMNT then the Outro then adverts again going into Tony Toon's.

Oh, yes, that Mega Man 3 commercial was - and still is - so cool!

Either way, I do miss Uncle Murph too. Someone should bring him back so he can give 4Kids TV a royal ass-kicking.

This is indeed a dark time we live in...

I could not agree more.
My childhood would have been far less tolerable had it not been for Fox's afternoon cartoon lineup.
Kids today don't know what they are missing.

Dang, I wish I had VCR sense when I was a kid at the time. My collection of childrens shows is limited to only 1 measly episode of Flintstone Kids.
