I remember the first time I heard this song drift in and out on my little Arvin transistor radio my dad got me. It was usually late on a school night when I was in bed when I used to listened to WOWO radio in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I lived in Virginia then and I was so young but loved this song and still do. Reminds me of an innocent time in America, never to be enjoyed again. Wow, fifty years and still listening to this !!!! .

On the Island of Okinawa as a child, in the early 60's. This played constantly while I watched the waves of the China Sea come into the beach in the sunshine.

BEAUTIFUL song. Evokes memories of 2-tone chevy belairs, cigarettes, "dinner at eight" and all the other "elegance of the time" along with me, running through the undergrowth with a beach towel cape safety pinned to my mumu...ha!
