The hardware to make it work costs USD 899 !! Given its 15Khz to 62Mhz coverage, its an expensive option compared to the many commercial radios that cover fro 100Khz to 1.3G, in all modes, like the Yaesu VR-500. Shame... cause i was facsinated by the User Interface.

You can't seriously be trying to compare a VR-5000 to a SDR receiver that can monitor and or record the entire HF spectrum at once.
