  • Thanks so much! I now have my favorite shadow back :)

  • Thank You so much for this tutorial, i had 4 different pallettes i fixed, genius

  • High five* we have the same last name :D

  • I added this video to my favorites. Awesome!

  • Thank You! That was quick and easy. I had a smashbox trio w/ a shattered shadow and it was mess...i thought it was ruined but i fixed it thanks to this tutorial in less than 5 minutes!!!!

  • This is awesome! Thanks so much for the tip cause I was just wondering if my broken eyeshadows can be saved or not too. Great tutorial!

  • wow thank you! im used to just throwing out my broken makeup! but this is genius!! thanks!

  • I did this as i watched it!!!

  • Oh man, about to start fixing about 50 broken eyeshadows that I have.

  • i jus threw away soo many shadows i wish i wulda found your vid a few days sooner

  • One thing I've tried is using Mac's Brush Cleanser instead of rubbing alcohol. I use it neat to clean my brushes all the time and it dissolves very quickly because of the high alcohol content. I just put a few drops into my broken shadows and then smooth them down with a clean brush. It creates nice brush lines too. Leave it for a bit and then if needed press it further. Worked great for my Too Faced blush. Great vid tho.

  • omgosh you are so beautiful. you have such a friendly face if that makes any sense at all.

  • I dont even know how many eyeshadows and powders ive thrown away thanks:)

  • sooo freaking awesome!!! thanks

  • This is why i love Youtube! Bless you Sweetie!!!!! I hate when powder breaks up and i usually throw that mess away! I know a waste but i hate to have it all over the place ...seems this really does work from the comments so gonna do it just now with my jacked up mac shadows! XXX

  • This was so helpful! I never even considered fixing broken shadows before! Thanks for the tutorial!

  • ITS FREAKING MAGIC!!!!!!

  • Great idea, i dont have any broken shadows but this will come in handy when i do

  • can you use vodka?

  • What do I do if I use too much alcohol?

  • @KittiePantsXx let it dry on it s own , it evaporates

  • Why on earth would you put it in the fridge? You're not trying to chill it..

  • Can you put it in the fridge after you mixed it, if not how long does it take for it to fully dry ?

  • It works!!! It really does!! I'm not joking. I did everything she said to do and left it for 3-4 hours and it's back to new! No rubbing alcohol smell, same color, great pigment, not cracked, and it's still the same wonderful shadow I had before it was cracked. I highly recommend this! It works beautifully!!!

  • I had a beautiful purple eyeshadow from CoverGirl that I loved and I got it for Christmas but it was broken :/ so, I just now tried this technique and I have to let it dry but Im excited to see the results :D thanks!

  • hahahaha "it will dry out your skin and damage it"

    kids... it will kill you

  • i dont get why its a big deal for alcohol to touch your skin? wash it off soon as it lands on your skin? isnt rubbing alcohol supposed to be used on skin? to sanitize and cleanse off any dirt/bacteria? i mean..ive been rubbing alcohol on neck and arms and my skin stays soft and smooth and more importantly clean.. not damaged

  • Last week i dropped my dior eyeshadow on the ground...i just putted a few drops of water in it, stirred a little bit with a pencil..and now my eyeshadow is just as perfect as i bought him :-)

but i'm not sure this works for every eyeshadow :-)

  • can i use expired alcohol? && will it still last as long?

  • I'm sorry, but I am not doing this. alcohol in an eye product are you serious? and notice there was no attempt to show the quality of the product afterwards.

  • @Latashatx1 it works just fine afterwards, i do this to all my cracked eyeshadowss

  • @Latashatx1 It evaporates dont worry it wont hurt your eyes! :)

  • Thank you

  • Hey guys, what in the heck do I do if I add too much rubbing alcohol?? I just ruined it, didn't I??!?!!?

  • @mzkriket87 you wait.

  • i really want to do this to my favorite eyeshadow that is completely cracked into like a million pieces but im too afraid i will mess it up and it wont be the same haha

  • Can i use the 70% alchohol? Is it the same with rubbing alchohol?

  • Can we do this with blushes too?

  • omg everybody relax about the alcohol, it evaporates.

  • Does it smell like rubbing alcohol when it is completely dry?

  • @Dancer24Hailee no it doesn't,

  • Hi may i ask what is rubbing alcohol?

  • uhhh , are you sure alcohol is safe for your eyes ???

  • @xoiheartmakeup The alcohol evaporates

  • Thank you such a great tip.

  • @GurlPlease2127 Did you tap the pan before it set? tapping it out actually gets those bubbles out or closer to the surface :D

I use a vibrating plate..seems to work better

  • omggg u r good

  • I tried it but it made the texture look and feel weird and it was a Mac eyeshadow, is that how urs turned out?

  • Can u use 50% alcohol ?

  • Thanks

  • thnk u sooooo much, yes u are really clear on instructions..

  • You did do a good job, i just think it could have been simplified a bit! xx

  • Woah it took you more than 2 hours... Ive fixed mine in less than 5 minutes! if this works for you thats fine but i didnt make my shadow so paste like &i only put enough drops to cover the top then i took a film case covered in fabric, with a little ubbing alcohol as well &just pushed it into the shadow making it flat & your done. you could use it just a few minutes after too. In my opinion, the way i just explained is a bit better.. sorry.

  • my mom works at a nail salon and they use alcohol in a similar container. It's not labelled "rubbing" alcohol but the description is the same (when you were explaining the drying of the skin etc) can i use that instead?

  • @ThornsNoRoses maybe do a google search on the ingredients of rubbing alcohol and check if it's the same :)

  • Thank you sooo much for this video!! I have three cracked eyeshadows, and I can't wait to fix them!!

P.S. Your voice sounds like Kim Kardashian!! :-D

  • @portcitydiva74 it would probably work. idk how it would effect the baked quality, but it would still be usable.

  • what if you cant get the rubbing alcohol?

  • @MegaNamra if i were you i would just go get some. idk what else would be safe to use. i would say peroxide but that would bleach your shadow:/

  • femme fi is my ultimate favorite too, but im just out because i've used it all. i only have one left which i use sparingly waiting for a repromote!

  • Hi I don't have rubbing alc I have the jelly kind that kills germs that I don't no how to spell lol will that work?

  • @xXAllyShadowXx Nope. I tried this and the eyeshadow worked just as well as it did before.

  • soooooo smart!

  • super cool!!

  • very helpful...but does this change the quality or pay off of the eye shadow at all??

  • I'm going to try this, but while it's drying, put something that's not too heavy on top of the goopy eyeshadow to create an imprint!

  • how long did u wait for it to evaporate?

  • ure so helpful!!=)

  • this is the first of you vids that i have watched and i automatically subbed! :)

  • @TheStephie1088 mee too!

  • does the eyeshadow still have the same color pay off after the rubbing alcohol dries out?

  • @genbabez Since she hasn't responded, yes it does. It's exactly the same, but just a little mushed. It works like normal.

  • @genbabez It does for me!

  • @genbabez yess. (:

  • @genbabez No, the pigmentation is terrible after yoou use rubbing alcohol on it. i wouldnt reccommend it unless it is completely necessary. /:

  • can i fix it with nail polish remover.. or a lacuer thinner?

  • OMG!!!! I ID NOT KNOW YOU CUD DO THIS!!! HTANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!! I LOVE U FOR THIS NOW! HAHAHA.. JK. BUT THANKS!

  • I have looked at several posts regarding fixing broken makeup and your post by far is the best one, easy to follow, takes care of all the questions I had, also is one of the few that shows me how to flatten the top out successfully. Great job! Thanks!

  • Amazing!

  • Absolutely brilliant! I have fixed a Mac eyeshadow...one of my favorite colors that had been "retired" by Mac. You are articulate and extremely clear in your instructions. Brilliant job! Thank you!

  • I was wondering what a lot of others were wondering, would this work with water?

  • Can I do it with water instead of alcohol?

  • @pr1nc3ss8391 i did that once, didn't work took ages to just "sort of" dry. Im glad it wasnt an expensive eyeshadow.

  • whats on your nails ???? they look natural is that gel on top

  • can you do it with water instead of rubbing alcohol ?

  • I am now eternally grateful! Thank you soooo much, my favorite eyeshadow is a MAC shiny gold color, the exact same size and shape as the one you used in the video. I was so heartbroken when cracked, and I had absolutely no idea there was a way to fix it! Thank you again, I think you have just changed my life :)

  • I wish I found this sooner cuz I've had to throw away so much eyeshadow from breaking them:( But I just broke another one so I'll have to find some rubbing alcohol. It's such a relief to know I can still use my makeup and not throw it away.Thans for the vid:)

  • Thx this was a great help

  • i have broken 2 of my nyx shadows and obviously coins don't fit in them to repress. so it was nice to see a mac shadow get repressed without a coin so i have a bit more confidence in fixing my nyx shadows. i've never had to fix a shadow yet, so i'm a bit nervous that i'm going to ruin it. i guess if i do, i will have to reorder. wish me luch and thanks for the video!

  • very smart>nice jobe

  • I absolutely love this! I always have problems with broken make-up because I carry a lot of it around. Thanks so much!

  • wow this is great! i cracked my Mac Bronze eyeshadow a really long time ago!

  • Why it wont work with mineral shadows ? please answer.. I've done it with a mac msf (it's mineral - of course) and it's worked just fine (:

  • @mrs7angel

Are the mineral shadows the loose eyeshadow kind?

If so, you will need pressing medium which contains other additives that help bind the powders into a cake. For broken eyeshadows, they already have the ingredients in them, so all you need to do is reconstitute them and press firmly to remove air pockets and compress it back into a cake.

  • wow this is very helpful! i just dropped one of my eyeshadows and i am definately going to try this method out! thanks

  • LOL...you need to edit this sweety you repeated ALOT of steps Over and over again...kind of annoying :-(

    Evaporate evaporate......LOL Otherwise thanks!

  • Will the pigments still be strong?

  • this worked perfectly! thanks for the tip

  • can i use hydrogen peroxide?

  • Is there any other way, than using alcohol ?

  • Umm I did this and the Alcohol burned my eye :/

  • @Sparvb you have to let the Rubbing alcohol dry completely

  • does this work on urban decay eyeshadow????

  • @dontreallycare14rjbp This probably works on every eyeshadow (; good luck

  • can i use acetone instead of rubbing alcohol?

  • thank you so much for this video! i never knew what to do with all my cracked/broken pigments, so they just remained unused, even some of my favorite shades. now i'll be able to use them again!

  • PLEASE ANSWER!

Will this work on e.l.f eyeshadows?

Thanks so much, I subbed, too.

  • will the consistency of the product remain the same after you fix it? like will it look the same once applied to the skin?

  • I have the urban decay's nyc palette and the shadows are pressed into a square shape. How do i fix a shadow that is in a palette and also pressed into a square shape?

  • @S3XTAZii same... I don't see where's the problem?

  • @besionishe i tried this method and it didnt pressed good...since it has a square shape and all that

  • @S3XTAZii maybe try to use some sort of cut card or something to press those?
