@irnuz port 21 is the default port for FTP.

I have a site on 000webhost. Why is it that I can't upload anything? It says the file is already there, and it is, but there is nothing in the file?

It could be one of the following reasons.

1. You don't have permission to upload into the folder.

2. You have reached your allocated space limit.

3. You have a firewall on which may be blocking FTP.

The best option is conact 000webhost and let them know.

If it's permission based simple change the permission to 755. (Right click on the folder and select File Permissions.

Okay. I'll contact them. But I think it has to do with my firewall, and I don't want to open my computer up to a free web hosting service, you know what I mean?

Check the FTP server address and port number some FTP servers may not be setup on port 21
