  • hay why are there not as much sparks bouncing around on my game as yours i downloaded the pack and installed it and have particle effects on very high and game effects to and volumetric effects also on very high pleas help

  • It is becouse this is to much sparks and unrealsitic. People gave me feedback that they wanted less sparks in cue with reality.

    However I have one I modified for a person which has more bullet sparks.

  • Yeah but I exaggerated it in this instance just for showcase. My particle mod has significantly less amount of sparks to look more realistic and balanced.

  • When I did all these videos it was E8400 dual-core @ 3.0GHz and a single HD4870 512MB at stock speed. Now I have my E8400 @ 3.6GHz and a HD4890 1GB at stock speed however I have only done the latest video with that system. :)

  • Well I did one for metal impact. I will see if I can find it.

    Otherwise you can use the command e_particles_lod and put a number there. It is a multiplier and each step doubles the base particle amount.

    With a number of 3 you will have 3x particles but it will be for all particles not just sparks and that includes shell casings from guns!

    i_rejecteffects 0 to turn of shell casings.

  • Ignore the error, I think it is just a thing between the demo WinRAR and full edition WinRAR

  • Sandbox editor is the one for Crysis. Warhead does some things different so an update or new editor is needed as fair as I know.

    Crytek said they would soon release a Warhead compatible editor. :)

  • I have not made a particle/effect mod for Warhead yet since the Warhead editor is not out (no one else has either). I will do one for Warhead thoguh as soon as the editor is out! :)

  • No I don't know butthere might be. I have sent a PM with link to a great Crysis/Warhead modding forum with lots of mods etc! :)

  • I have a custom config that is ultra high.

  • I can run crysis on very high (dx9 tweak) at about 30-40FPS (8800gt)

    Do you think i will be able to run an ultra high config and that texture pack you use at an alright FPS?

  • Yes. There are some not so important stuff in the config that can be removed to add about +5fps or so.

    The texture pack depends if you got more than 2Gb RAM and run it in 64bit mode it should be OK. FYI this video was done without the texture pack.

  • It increase resolution for several textures aswell as slight change in detail pattern for textures. And I mean REALLY high-res textures that you can zoom in with sniper scope and yet look better than most other games!

  • Killzone 2 does this, but your videos have made m see Killzone 2 isn't quite as close graphically as I had imagined.

    It's still pretty good for the PS3 though, and has both this and complete motion and depth of field blur.

  • KZ2 has few particles with physics in any scene and it is simpler physics. More like collision detection only. It also lacks HDr, soft particle effect, aswell as some other lighting effects put onto the particles (sparks in this case) and volume effect. Per-pixel motionblur is also applied to the particles.

  • I agree KZ2 is impressive for PS3. Crysis also sports full per-pixel object motionblur and high-grade depth of field with selective applying and depth tone which is unique to Crysis. The velocity object motionblur for Crysis is that it applies for everything, and I mean every single thing in the world!

    And it is veolcity sensitive as in movement speed of object or different parts of same objects get different amount of motionblur. Only seen Project offset do this besides Crysis. :)

  • Well, I am not technically minded, but the particle effects of this, look only more strong than Killzone's. I think they react pretty much the same.

    And it also has full per-pixel object motion blur.

    But I still has to be taken into account it isn't rendering vegetation, with physics, and an open free roaming world.

    I think that's a major difference xD

  • The difference in reaction default and especially in my mod is that particles dont just react to terrain/walls but also static objects and dynamic objects. So a soldier in the way will get sparks bouncing on his body according to his movements. In short sparks will react to anything in the world including sparks on sparks collision.

  • But both KZ2 and Crysis does what they do very well and why they stick out in the 'game crowd so well!

    They go for different artstyles, techwise large difference and scope but both manage to look great which is what counts the most IMO! :)

  • Actually I intentionally removed the sound. This becouse I felt it was to distracting to hear "clink clank clink ratatatatata" sound for the whole video duration! ;)
