I'd have to make some other modifications to do that, 13.8 - 14v really isn't enough to keep an arc, but that was another project I was going to do was to make a small welder from an alternator and since I have a large welder on the truck, really haven't had the need for it.
Put an inverter on it and see what kind of usable power you can get out of it! Using a direct drive like I did too!! Slick! :-)
