A question that keeps from other students and myself is what level of finish is expected in a design portfolio? In a number of the earlier videos Feng has stated he sometimes only has a few hours and rarely a day to finish a design piece. Should a portfolio for this type of work be worked on to an illustration level?
I'm not asking about brands to impress the client. That's what your work is for. Some brands of portfolios are better than others...more durable, better quality, easier to display, etc. When it comes to art and design supplies finding a reliable brand is important. If I'm buying brushes or paints I wana know if they're good quality, same with portfolios.
Hey Feng, extremely helpful. Is there a specific portfolio brand you would recommend? Those looked similar to Itoya portfolios. And how much white margin would you say to leave around the edge of the prints on a 11x17 or does it depend on the image?
REALLY!? You actually did videos on portfolios?! Feng, you are undoubtedly the best teacher on Youtube that I have ever had the pleasure to stumble across. You actually "teach" instead of just "showing"...there's a difference. All your useful information is priceless and I can't believe you are giving them to us viewers free of charge. I am not an internet troll. I am just someone who enjoys drawing and am hoping to get better at it. Just want to say thanks Mr. Zhu and keep the vids coming.
I'd like to personally thank you for this. As a young artist who will soon be attempting to break into the industry, this is incredibly informative and helpful! :)

would you pick the pieces you think are the best, or the pieces others tell you are your best... because they are not always the same!

Would you like to share any advices about on-line portfolio? Most of them will be similiar I suppose, but any differences?
Personally I`d love to see more live drawing tutorials in future. Episode 15 was great!
