  • Adorable

  • amazing piece of music!

  • WONDERFUL!!!

  • Depeche Mode Polen sztum seba :)

  • fuckin awesome

  • owes literally everything to Nico, who made this her signature song over decades of performances.

  • @anomalek Owes nothing to Nico's version in my opinion.

    This version is clinical, ice cold tech house. Nico's version couldn't be more different.

  • The great music is from Werner R. Heymann

  • beautiful voice Martin, words and music...

  • very beautiful !!!!

  • so weird - i love discovering NEW Martin Gore stuff all the time.

    well, it is new to me.

  • Martin Gore has an beautiful singing voice-English and German <3 this is my favorite song from the "Counterfeit 2" album

  • I am german and I never heard this song before. I guess I'm not interested in another version, this is perfect

Ganz feines Ding ! Respekt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just back from Hamburg via Berlin to London. Depressed at not being able to learn enough German to have a full conversation. Berlin is a magnificent city. Is Berlin fashion week always in July?

  • waw! voice splendid!

  • hach ..is das süss..ich bin ganz blind

  • ich liebe es!!!

  • klasse!!!

  • wunderbar! :-)

  • Ohhhhhhh, it is not arrogant, it is the best song ever, i understand you, my son agree

  • German language was not meant for music? Huh? What arrogant BS is that?

    And what the heck is "Definetly" ?? Learn to type words if you are complaining about languages.

  • dear germanboyssZZZzZZz, I do not know anything of German music, but I do love your country and culture and I wish I could write better in German to talk to you. Anyway, I hope you will see any of their concert in this tour, I did it two weeks ago and it was WONDERFUL! ciao!

  • ahh=) but I must say that some words listen a little bit same.

    as like

    Wine = Wein = same to speek

    Before = Bevor = "

    Drank = Trank = same

    Roses = Rosen = ~~ same

    Thousand = Tausend = same

    and so on....

    In my opinion is german sometimes the same as english just like the same word "Kindergarten" .. wich comes from germany.

    Oh yes I be there in february 2010.. it was canceld because dave becomes sick but 2010 is it=) bye!

  • That is mostly because English and German are both Germanic languages. Therefore, there are some similarities in word order, and many similarities in the two vocabularies. I do believe, however, that the word "Kindergarten" is just a coincidence, since it describes a relatively new concept. For some reason, English speakers just took over that word, just as saying "Gesundheit" right after a sneeze, and many psychological terms such as "Gestalt".

  • @FuellingObsession ... thank you for all the insight, it's great to see some intelligent minds out there.

  • @embrassemoi04 And thank you for the generous compliment. :)

  • I wouldn't say that German music is shit. Agreed, Schlagermusik (which we have here in Holland as well), is completely shit. :) But other genres that Germany is known for, such as electronical, industrial and some gothic music, have had a great impact on international artists. DM have certainly been inlfuenced by Kraftwerk at the start of their career. And when recording their third album CtA in Berlin, they had great Industrial influence, especially from Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten).

  • I am german. I dont mind others flaming Germany. There are definately several reasons to do so.

    Martin Gore is not german. You miss the point. Open some political thread for a chance on hitting some point maybe. Or, more easy, just stfu and troll on to some other band/singer/song.

  • Yes, Martin speaks german. He loves Germany, since the early years with Depeche Mode.

  • Yes, and Germany loves Martin! It seems that every time he has an interview in Germany, he is asked to say something in German (or he does it out of his own). It's really cute!

  • martin gore speaks german? OoOoOO?

  • Oh definetely! He had an A-level in German in highschool, went on a student exchange to Germany when he was 16, lived in Berlin for 5 years during the 80'ies, and had a German girlfriend for 2 years. Even though his pronounciation is not completely exact, he certainly knows how to speak it. :)

  • incredible!

  • very hypnotic-i love it

  • No le entiendo nada :(

    Pero me encanta la musica. :)

  • Sometimes you really forget I don't know a word of Spanish, haha! I tried listening to a "Learn Spanish" CD, but I lost track after the second sentence LOL. So if you could, could you type it in English?

  • Hey, I provided this video with closed captions, so now you can understand the lyrics of the song! :)
