It's not that simple. People just can't send messages to other DS systems; in order for someone to send a PictoChat message, they have to be in a certain radius to do so.

Nintendo actually has the safest online mode out of the three main video companies. Check out their website to know exactly how the internet works for their systems.

I'm not going to tell you how to raise your children, but I will say that the DS is the safest video game system out there for children.
