  • 1:41...

  • Yubaba made 3 accounts

  • when i am on a journey, the song can make me relaxed.

  • It's 8.15am in UK and I'm reaching my 24th hour of being awake, trying to get boat loads of work done so I can take a peaceful holiday without a care in the world. Decided to put some music on and this sprang to mind, it's awesome, beautiful, and the section at 3:05 sent chills up my spine. Cheers for getting me through this last stretch Hisaishi-san!

  • Best scene in the entire film.

  • Hisaishi, I hope that you art will be forever.

  • 2 people need to see The Wizard of Oz for a heart!!!

  • @bone101ify The Wizard of Oz? is this song on that movie?????????? noo,,, yes?

  • @BItchSlayerGirly I meant that ffor the people who diliked the song.Just a reference!

  • This song reminds me of my gf, and when we used to lay down on the roof to look at the sky. Whenever she got cold, I would share my scarf with her. Even though she's gone, I'll always keep her in my mind....

  • @TheMacason that is soooooooooooo sweet!!!!!!!

  • i hate these kind of comments but this is too beautiful to dislike:

ke$ha and justin bieber disliked this

i love this song it's so sad and beautiful :") i cried the first time I saw the scene in spirited away

  • This song is magic

  • i was going to open redtube but then i realize that Joe Hisaishi would be disappointed of me

  • this sounds so sad...

its makes me think about a little girl who just find out everyone she loved and cared about was gone. her childhood innocence is now gone. shes grown up and has to worry about the real world, what people think of her,how is she gonna live. never again will she feel the carefree feeling of being a child again.

  • I love this song so much :D

  • Gosh, I need my daily dose of Joe hisaishi ;)

  • I feel like I've lost something special :(

  • who disliked this?? are you deaf and have you no hearts????

I always cry when I hear this! It's beautiful!!

  • It sounds like the sims @_@

  • @nellster65 How? o.O

  • @mebbwebb It's all piano-y at the beginning, like in building mode of the original sims.

  • @nellster65 I see what you mean but not as upbeat.

  • A french top comment?

  • :'3

  • 1 person got eaten by no face!!!!

  • This song is amazing :( it makes me expecially sad that no anime movie will ever come close to spirited away. Even if they make a sequel

  • Wow, this version of this song without orchestra is rape to my ears... >__>

  • open a new tab, go on to youtube again, type in rain click the top result. Play both at the same time. Feel the symphony of nature and music working together in the most beautiful way possible ^_^

  • @lolgob1 Perfect.

  • when I hear this, I feel me alone...

    sorry for my bad english.

  • This is such a beautiful song it makes me want to cry.

  • Hermosa, emotiva y profunda.

  • FInally, a version that isn't a cover.

  • @maggie87756 I feel the same way at 26: I'd just love to go back and find things the same as they were at 17, but I'm a graduate student now and I know I need to keep moving forward. Spirited Away is such a great movie, and Joe Hisashi does such an amazing job conveying the spirit of each scene.

  • Maravilloso

  • That disliker had better prepare for a life spent alone.

  • I can't see the dislike bar! :D:D:D

  • @Vietigirl I swear, that Justin Beiber is getting on my nerves!

  • Driving down a road covered in leaves. ^.^

  • 2:39. Gives me goosebumps every time.

  • he really has a way with creativity

    his movie and his music...

    just magical @_@

so far all of the movies and musics i've listened and watched by him were pure gold

  • broseph you is making me is crying lots

  • yiruma's songs are good, but they're not powerful enough. I believe Hisashi deserves more viewers and credit. He is amazing and grasps the concept of music very well. I don't usually cry when listening to music, and i have to say....he's the first to make me and probably the last.

    xxx long live Joe...

  • I really love this melody somehow it takes my breath away

  • Love Joe Hisaishi !

  • This song makes me cry. I feel like I'm in the train going forward, glancing at a girl who realizes nothing will ever be the same again. And then I understand. I am that girl, and in a way we all are. Everyone grows up, everyone wishes for one last adventure, to walk back along the tracks hoping to find things the same as they once were. Joe Hisaishi brings us closer to that feeling, like there's still magic left hidden in the world.

  • @Maggie87756 <3

  • Everytime I listen to this, my heart becomes so heavy.... In Hisaishis music, there's this melancholy, mixed with pure beauty. It reminds me of lost love, and sadness... But at the same time, I can't stop listening to this, I listen to it over and over again, I just can't stop. I'm in love with every note of this masterpiece, yet so simple, but so pure and beautiful...

  • i only like hard metal, rock ..... & this ..

  • guys you're polluting this amazing songs page, c'mon now. how about you two take this to your own pages? or msg each other. let's stick to the topic~ :3

  • I cannot describe the passion in his music. The most i can say is overwhelming.

    ('-') *Nostalgia*

  • ART

  • Proof that he is brilliant, no dislikes :)

  • I wish the amazing music that people compose really could play during a crucial or every day point in your life.

  • @Jennur11 ikr? like a theme song

  • Je suis fan

  • I just love this piece... I have it on my Ipod and listen to it every night to go to sleep. It's my sort of lullaby. :D

...Oh, hey, I'm the 400th liker. xD

  • @WolfInTime me too. It's haunting, yet comforting. Perfect lullaby.

  • @WolfInTime i do that too

  • This song is really beautiful, but at the same time, it sounds so lonely that sometimes I can't listen to it. It makes me cry.

  • im glad there's no dislikes........pure AWESOMNESS. God made music SO WONDERFUL....i love this.

  • Just Beautiful... I do not know anybody else who can make me feel something like this. I feel safety in a personal world, in a world I would like to stay forever, where relax I can think about my life. It's seemed stupid, but this music makes me feel happy to live.

I would like to thank this talentuous man, Joe Hisaishi. Thanks for existing, thanks for sharing with us your sensibility.

  • Any dislikers.. just beautiful

  • <3 Joe Hisaishi<3!

  • I like this and Im not oversentimental (nor sentimental at all)

  • Art at its best.

  • Such a beautiful song, it is so calming and gets you to peace immediately, I really like it, it talks from deep of it's heart - - JOe Hisaishi is a real genius on composing Music pieces like this

  • Like someone said on another video, I wish I could crawl into the movie...and never come back.

  • Theres something about this song, this man. That i feel i just cant let slip by. Like somehow i need to meet him to just to find purpose in my life. But his music out of all the music i have ever heard (classical or non) speaks to me, i dont know how to describe it but it seems to have this other-worldly ellegance that is so beutiful it tears me up inside. Im 13 years old, and sometimes my life feels so dull and polluted by this world, this time. His music is my only release. Its all i have.

  • the picture

a building in the left nearly middle

wht's that i want to know very much

  • this song is too good some people cry when they hear, i am one of them ,BRAVO .

  • This is a wonderful piece... perhaps one of the best I've heared in years, just shows you how chance plays a role in our lives... I saw the title... clicked it, and ... there you have it, a brilliant piece of music by a composer I've never heared of before I saw this video!

Best wishes to you "aaaffx" and thanks for posting this video! ...Regards from Liechtenstein...

  • This song makes me feel like it's smarter than me...it knows something that i don't.

  • one of the best of Hisaishi's

  • Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this song...?

  • @juggleman555 Try Ichigos sheet music. :D

  • @zZzJessicaRabbitzZz wow... :/

  • I just understood why some people rate beautiful pieces suchas this one down. Pure ignorance -.- I just asked my mother whats her thought of the song and she said. it's too slow people, don't like this kind of music, people only like happy faster music. like come on...

  • This song makes me want to go away to some sort of excluded paradise, where nothing bad happens, no hurt, no pain or sadness. And listening to this song makes it seem oh-so-realistic. Such a naive wish, I know, but listening to this music makes the paradise seem closer to existance than anything else.

  • This really hit me hard.

Then I saw that there were 0 dislikes, and realized I wasn't alone in that.

  • 0 dislikes for a masterpiece like that!BRAVO!

  • woow. 0 dislikes~

  • I am new to joe hisaishi's

I however found this song really mysteriously sad in some way....

U cannot describe the song fully however....

  • loooooooooove this song!!!

it´s like you are caught in a deep dark night

without knowing the way to home, lovely music :)

kinda sad, but still a lot of hope...

  • This song IS life.. every single note is filled with sadness and joy.. Can't help but to remember the incredible moments I spent with that someone whom I loved and lost... yet hope remains even in solitude. Truly powerful melody, plunging deep into my soul.

  • Only shallow people can't understand the magic of this song.

  • @zZzJessicaRabbitzZz SHUT THE FUCK UP, DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT SUCH AN AMAZING SONG!

  • stuff like this makes me wish i was a musician. I love this song...it's beautiful in it's simplicity and contemplative. I love Hisaishi's work.

  • romantic story....one day my friend....one day you may see that you could reach her

  • this song is so deep

  • Comment removed

  • Simply beautiful. It reminds me of how I loved and forced to accept a reality that was against my principles for the sake of love. This song highlights the burden that I still carry. It stirred alot of emotions in me, especially at 1.41 of the song, a forlorn hope, but trapped in a mist that you can't get out of. Thanks for posting this. I will be playing this on the piano as a part of my repertoire.

  • i love this

  • *deep sigh*

  • It reminds me of Hotel Dusk! o_o

  • amazing song

  • Nostalgia!

  • The train scene in Spirited Away is one of my favorite scenes in the film entirely because of this song.

  • Beautiful and sad :'( ♥

  • love this song :'( it's so beautiful with only piano <3 and i can play the beginning :')

  • Joe Hisaishi is such a good composer. He makes notes that don't sound good together theoreotically, sound good...

  • it's so beautiful :'( makes me cry...so lovely...so sad...</3 memories..

  • If an artist is able to make you feel an emotion as deep as this song creates then that artist is a genius.

  • He... is my hero. He... just has a way, to make everyone he meets fall in love with him... his compositions unlock my heart certain door with a tiny key only he has. Once it opens, his beautiful music intrudes into my heart and makes it sing. Deep, cello voices (And other assorted strings), intertwined with the harping sounds of woodwinds. A few bass are in there too, percussion, but never, ever, does the constant sound of the grand piano ever falter, for even a minute. I just... want to...

  • I just want to... sing along, carried on a bed of clouds.... It is so peaceful...

  • one of his best pieces ever. this scene in spirited away made me cry, mostly because the music was so beautiful

  • This piece breaks my heart everytime, in both a negative and lovely way.

    Mmm... gorgeous, gorgeous ache.

  • what a phenomenal piece by Joe Hisaishi!!!

    LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • please post a link to a site where i can buy hisaishi music, he is truely amazing

  • ooh, so this is a piano only version...I have hear another with orchestra with,,,

    both are really goood!

  • this is just incredible

  • Sublime

  • I feel like floating in mid air and getting numb whenever I hear this song.

  • What I think is so incredible about this song is that Hisaishi doesn't have to use many chords to create this feeling. He is a true genius =)

  • Does anyone have the sheet music?

  • try google search it good, thats how i found mine.

  • no comment !!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful.

Once upon a time I met a girl. We`ve spoken about everything. About god and the world, philosophy and things like that. I felt in love but she did`nt.

Last time I saw her she played this song for me on the piano and said, she can`t feel anything as I was concerned.

So I love this song..............and I am near tears.

  • i hope you guys are happy together.

  • I feel u bro. had similar thing. its tearing me apart inside when i think about it.

  • @xjoghurtfreundx Living almost the same story right now..

  • @xjoghurtfreundx sounds like a story written by Haruki Murakami... it's a really beautiful composition.

  • @xjoghurtfreundx You made me think about you EVERY TIME I hear this song. And quite frankly, I don't want to. Asshole ;)

  • @xjoghurtfreundx I also fell in love with a girl a couple of months ago. She didn't love me back. She was in love with my best friend. Man, that was tough. This song reminds me of love. And makes me wish i had it.

  • @xjoghurtfreundx I don't mean to be an ass, but I'm sure you've talked with that stuff to other women as well, and probably turned them down because you weren't interested in them like that. I apologize for your loss, but I feel crying about it on a YouTube video is fairly disrespectful to that girl's decision.

  • @JeanPlaisance If you have to begin your comment with "i don't mean to be an ass", it's probably something you shouldn't have posted.

  • @pHr33kAcHu Your name pertains to Pokemon. Whatever candy-ass implications you have are completely null and meaningless now.

  • @JeanPlaisance Ah, the ever-classic admittance of a troll with no argument in his favor. :3 Look troll, I'm really sorry your life is an emotional void and thus you are unable to connect beautiful music with events in your life, but by trolling this video you are disrespecting Miyazaki's work and it would probably be best if you refrain from trollposting any further. In fact my further participation is tainting this art as well, so I will no longer reply to your childish flamewar.Adieu .

  • @pHr33kAcHu I would appreciate it if you grew up and learned to read. I clearly said I don't like the people commenting on the video, such as the illiterate mongoloid child you are, not that I didn't like the music. So perhaps you stop masturbating to your level 100 Charizard, and go educate yourself.

  • @xjoghurtfreundx you must be very ugly

  • I just found out that Joe Hisaishi isn't his real name. Joe Hisaishi is the Japanese translation of the name Quincy Jones.

His real name is Mamoru Fujisawa. That's kinda interesting(at least to me)

  • OMG!Fujisawa is kinda close to the guy in Whisper of the heart!

  • hey....this sounds almost like that train station song from Spirited Away....T_T...that's what it sounds like to me. :( this makes me sad...but its beautiful!

  • it is the train song from spirited away

  • This IS that song..

  • lol it is from the movie spirited away :]

  • LOL! i was hoping so b/c i dont think there's multiple songs of this in the movie! hoho!! just checking with everyone! :D

  • it is spirited away o.o

its when they're going to find the twin granny...

  • lol. yes. i remember that. haha. i wasnt sure at first but certain parts caught me. lol. thanks. ;)

  • I lost my true love awhile back.. It hurts so much.. This song made me think about the happy times that once were.

  • Same here. I actually listened to this song with him before his death. Miss him, every day. The only thing that makes me smile is the hope that I'll maybe see him again one day. Never give up.

  • Thank you. I hope you do get to see him again. May the Light guide your path, sending your Darkness away. I have a simple small hope, that I'll be with my love once more as well.

  • And I would love to be your friend, If that's okay with you. =]

  • Thank you very much ^^

I wish you all the best as well. Never forget the memories, as long as we remember our loved ones stay with us.

  • i love joe hisaishi's piano music, his music is so relaxing and calm!! i'd love to see him live. it would be worth it!!
