Personally I've only had good experiences with HP. Their touch is generally quite good as it is, and has been for a few years. The HP Slate will only improve on that, although if it doesn't come with windows 7 i won't be buying it.

I wouldn't say it destroys the iPad just because the simple reason it runs a PC OS. if there was a way to make a PC/Mobile Hybrid which Apple should've done, that would kill the iPad. Just because the simple fact that alot of games/apps/programs for PC OS require ridculously higher specs then the average tablet can handle and are not optimized for touch screens. Also this is aiming at the Tablet PC market while the iPad isn't...

@MrMacFreek doesnt get near the iPAD, for starters the iPAD can be used for 10 hours straight thanks to the Arm base A4 cpu (windows wont run on Arm CPU's but Android and iOS will) and this tablet is hard up playing video for 3 hours. The other issue is windows is dekstop OS and all the applications are mouse/keyboard centric thus wont play nice with this form factor. If I had one of these things I would be trying to install meego or android on it so I have a proper tablet OS to use.

@Vlican I'm getting the impression you've never used W7 on an actual touchscreen device. It happens to work really well. And the UI is customizable on the Professional version; for those that aren't tech-capable, you can purchase 3rd party UI software skins that work really well. There are at least three that come to mind. Take alook at Thinix Touch as one example. Hope that helps you, so that you won't have to call others "dumbass" when you don't have all of the information.

The biggest innovation in this sector will come in themes. Wit full fledged OSes it's just a matter of time until someone designs rainmeter, windows blinds,e tc exclusively for these devices. The Hanvon is incredible with Windows 7, I actually would not have even bought it if it was running any mobile/touch OS.
