  • I think you made a poor cam choice in respects to the duration is to big calling for a large stall and gears which you dont have cause it wakes up around 2500-3500 rpm. Get posi as suggested by others and a 3500 stall with 410 gears and she will sing

  • that sounds like to big of cam for that engine your probably loosing power, idle needs to be way up bigger cam more idle definently needs some higher gears, 4.56 gears and 3500 stall would be good. what gear you running are they stock if they are you would get better power with a smaller cam, doesnt sound like everything is matched properly

  • A lot of potential already there. If you would take a little advice...Get rid of that 650 and put a 750 or 780 on there. Posi trak is a must do. Ignition---MSD6** The cam is cool but idle it up a little. You're loosing a little on your bottom end. That cam was made to sing (probably) around 3500>.

  • jrkoff is right. I have a sbc 350 bored 40 over with dart heads and a huge cam and I am running at 1000 rpms idle and 20 degrees initial timing with 36 degrees advanced coming in at 3400 rpms. One wheel peels do suck! Been looking for a posi rear-end for a long time with no luck.

  • if your going bowtie posi best to with the 12 bolts check local junkyards for old comaros and 81 threw 86 chevy pickups and you should be able to find a decent rear end

  • lol. you are retarded. regardless of cubic inches, it is idling too low. more cubes doesnt mean it sounds that slow and lopey. listen to the engine, it is going to die. his flat tappet cam is going to be wiped in short order with an idle like that.

  • people like to their initial advance at factory spec. a cam like that should have 16+ degrees at idle.. and should idle around 750-800 not 450-550.. this does not sound good

  • Nice truck sounds like you got a pretty healthy engine. If you really wanna drag your truck look into a holley or demon, Those edelbrock just aren't ment for the strip. The demon and holleys will be a lot more snappy with little to no bog. Nice ride though! keep it up

  • all you gotta do is weld your motor mounts in the right place and buy or make headers to go around the steering column

  • buy frame mounts for a 2.8L v6 and motor mounts for the swap and headers for an s10 with small block. this stuff is easy to find

  • just so you know the 4.3l's are pretty gutsy motors, after all, they are 3/4 of a 350.

  • 4.3's are very good motors I know, because I have had two of them. I'm now on my 5th s10. Have v8 conv. now, doesn't compare to my old 4.3's. (video on my youtube page.)

  • doesnt need a posi. just needs a regear to 4.10 or 4.56 and a 3500 stall converter as said before. hell, use a flex speed or foot-pedal type. either would work, personally i like the foot-pedal type =]

    btw it runs fine. its the cam it has, if he let it warm up and then video'ed then it would have idled fine.

  • Aight if you goin to show your ass and do some burn outs get a posi track. What ya need to do is put some 4.56 gears, and do some work on that motor cause it aint soundin too good

  • That truck needs 4.10 gears & an Art Carr 3500 Stall Converter, & ditch that Edelbrock Carb (not enough fuel) & swap in a Holley 750 "dual feed" w./ Vacuum Secondaries :)

  • Oh my god some of you people, you really need to spend the night with v8's and get away from your "Super Street" ricer burners. The only duration you guys seem to know is how long your cars will last at full throttle before blowing the little plastic motors. The sound you are hearing is Nice sound Lunati 292* duration cam. Sounds like the lift is around 480" - 510" can tell. But the timing is good from hearing him whomp the gas and without a bog, the damn tires smoke to death.

  • I don't think it's warming up, sounds like he has a huge cam in it and big cams aren't meant to run they're best at a low idle they're meant to run they're best at full throttle...I highly doubt the truck's on it's way out

  • long beds are hard to get to hook up, my shor bed 94 with 275 60 15s and stock 4.10 rear end hooked up so good with my center bolt heads 350 bored 40 over and cheep cam and springs would build power dam near 7 grand with turbo 350 trans and b&m shifter, the front would pick up slaming into second. also had 3" lower blocks but that didnt last long lol. that bad boy blew stant gts and camaro ss off the line and keep pullen away all day long
