  • That is the kind of meerschaum I am looking for. A plain meerschaum without in designs or carved artwork.

    The pipe is looking good!

    -Matthew

  • @bahumutx It's funny that most people on here like the plain ones, yet you don't see them as often. Thanks for watching.

  • By the way WDC stands for The Demuth co. I believe out of NY. WDC stands for William Demuth Company. He was age 16 when he came to the U.S. from Germany. Jason

  • @JJJUSCFAN8 Thanks for the info and for watching.

  • Great restoration video, sweet pipe!

  • @PipeProxy Thanks and thanks for watching.

  • @ToBaCCoRoW I'm glad you like it. It was funny when I found out that it came from the shop you guys visited. I was going to use some bees wax I had in the cupboard, but it had orange oil in it and I wasn't sure that was a good thing. I'll have to remember to get some regular bees wax. Thanks for watching.

  • Nice Meer! I Iike the plain ones like that, too...

  • @pipeguy1958 Thanks. The plain ones just suit me more. Thanks for watching.

  • Meers have a long history since 1720 they been used for pipes

  • @SmokingEssy7887 Thanks for the info and for watching.

  • Nice pipe and cool cat. Put some honey on the stem's tenon and that should keep it secure. What kind of camera do you use?

  • @MrSmokeGuy Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching. The camera is a Panasonic HDC-TM300. I like it.

  • Supper job. I think there's an article on pipe magazine.com about them and how to care for them but what you did looks great.

  • @darfirst Thanks a lot. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.

  • Wow, that meer turned out great!

Your cat is definitely not camera shy. Interesting tail.

It seems I'm one of the few that enjoys the "frilly" pipes. lol

Oh well, thanks for sharing. I look forward to any updates you may have on this meer.

    Cheers!

  • @pipethought I'm glad you like it. I like the ornate ones as long as they're original. I was glad I got our cat in the video. It's funny how she knows she's special. So far the pipe smokes great. I can see why people like the meers. Thanks for watching.

  • It seems you enjoyed the process, I share that!!! a job well done!

    Cheers,

    Harvey

  • @hjrosasq Thanks Harvey, it was a lot of fun and very rewarding. Thanks for watching.

  • Good job Steve! Funny how cleaning the pipe made the stem screw back in the correct position. It must have been loads of gunk in there. I see RequiemPipes already told you about the WDC name. I own a tiny WDC briar pipe myself. A good 10-minute smoker. I also like that "no frills" meer. I have to get me one of those.

    Cheers,

    -Mike

  • @Flieger671 Glad to see you're back. Where's the safari videos? Thanks for watching.

  • @PipePedaler Thanks! Well, I've already uploaded my safari video. It's the last one I posted so you'll have no problems finding it. :)

    -Mike

  • @Flieger671 I don't know how I missed that. I don't think it showed up on my subscription page. I really enjoyed watching it. Thanks

  • @PipePedaler No problems. It happens to me all the time. I'm glad you liked it though. I'm going to put together a slide show of some of the 2.000 photos we took as well. ;-)

    Cheers,

    -M

  • did a nice job, cleaning it up! Nice little pipe!

  • @jerryspipe Thanks, I think it will be a nice little smoker.

  • Hey, you could lay down on your side and smoke it just fine! lol kidding!

When ever I pick up a meer, I'll want a no frills one like that!

Cleaned up nicely and the stem no fits right! Nice

Check out JJJUSCFAN8 YTube channel he's all about meer's and really knows his stuff.

    Cheers,

    James

  • @astroman2112 Thanks, I was shocked that it turned out this well. Thanks for the info and for watching.

  • Wow!! excellent job.. (n-it looks like LaVerne is is impressed as well..lol) That looks like a pipe I could enjoy for sure..

    Cheers n-thanks for sharing..

    Dan

  • @dansibleys Thanks, I like how it turned out. Laverne is undecided.

  • Also, I just googled for WDC pipes and found quite relevant information about them. It's William Demuth & Co., the same store the BOTS visited recently!

Check the pipes magazine's link you'll find on google.

  • @RequiemPipes whoa. some history on that pipe!

  • @RequiemPipes Very cool. I feel silly that I hadn't bothered to Google it yet. Thanks for the info.

  • Very nice. You can date the pipe by the silver markings.

    Best
