They claimed like a year ago or more that Diablo 3 would DEFINITELY have the MOST content of any game they had released. That probably wasn't meant to include WoW, but even so... kind of a big let down if they are going back on their word!

See, hearing that they have "surpassed" the length is disheartening. It was supposed to BLOW AWAY Diablo 2's length. 'Surpass' my ass! I was expecting at least 2-3 TIMES Diablo 2.
@i3rucei3ruce Well 2-3 times longer is out of the question as that's a 10-15 Act game and I just don't think it will happen. The video at around 0:51 explains the length of Diablo3 vs 2 and if i recall correctly Jay Wilson said that your first runthrough (normal difficulty) would be ~20 hours of gameplay. Not to mention there will be a fourth "Inferno" difficulty after Hell. You can also expect a number of expansion sets. Besides quality > quantity

Oblivion (a 5-year-old game) takes 300 hours to finish all dungeons and quests. Diablo 3 should be similar, or else, what's the point of waiting 11 years after D2?
@i3rucei3ruce Yeah you're right with the Acts, but don't overlook the the 4 difficulty's which essentially quadruple the length of the game (though this is kind of a cop-out). Diablo 3 also has randomized quest events so one run through can be significantly longer than one you did previously, this is somewhat similar to what you mentioned above with Oblivion as you can stick to the main story and rush through, or you can fully explore it and take your time with the side quests.
I started playing the Diablo 3 Beta, and spent about 15 minutes walking around the first act and just marveling at how great the spells work and how awesome the graphics looked. I then spent $30 at the auction house to take my character directly to end credits (because why bother playing the game when I can just pay money and beat it instantly) and it was awesome! I have no idea what actually happens in the game, but I don't care, because I got money.
i think hostility should be in the game. it was always cool when some jerk joined your game and killed every one, and then you msg a friend and he comes in with a bad ass character and wipes the floor with them. always seemed that a low lvl character would enter than leave, and then magically a lvl 90 whatever would enter and and then go hostile.

@Phili721 He didn't say that the acts will be smaller than in D2, but that they will just like in d2 make the first act big and gradually make the next acts smaller.
But act 3 in D2 was pretty big... so it doesn't really make sense.

This just bothers me on a cellular level as I can just imagine a spoiled 14 year old with his mommies credit card thinking he is god incarnate because he bought the best gear and is now demolishing all comers in the Arena's or gloating to other PVE'rs about how great he is.
After long days playing diablo 3 I realized that if you finish the last boss and go back to the begining of the level you will se on a wall a poster of peon from warcraft 3 saying: "Me Bussy! Leave me alone ! " and if you click on it you will get the best items in diablo 3 !
I've been beta testing for weeks, and finally, i found out something. If you kill the final boss(and yes, he does drop a massive health potion in the form of a cheese) and restart, if you go to the Skeleton King, for some reason his ghost is attackable, and if you kill it before it reaches his body, it opens a portal to a StarCraft 2 level, with Zerg and (drum roll) Sarah Kerrigan. I would post a video, but its only once per character and I only just noticed.
Force guy is so good with this content and all the editing. But I bet he will just disappear when the game will come out lol. Hahahaha. He will be playing too much..
This is too late for the weekly deal, but... I was playing the other week, and for the beta they offered everyone the choice in "The Sanctuary" to get any type of items from the vendors offered there that normally you have to buy with some sort of currency. Anyways The Sanctuary is a town that's safe to everyone and not hostility can be made, but the entire time your in the town it's under siege, and people are constantly dying. Over time each game has the Sanctuary overrun by demons... Sweet
When Blizzard FINALLY releases this game in the next century - it had better have more than 100 hours for all this development time - or I'm going to their development studio and take a dump on their front lawn!!!!
im very suspicious to say, couse i start playing diablo when it released in 1998 and since then, i aways loved diablo, best game ever, if i was a beta tester of diablo 3, i would QUIT MY JOB AND START WORKING FOR BLIZZARD, couse that worth

It's pretty good I suggest more classes like casters and another healer / melee class would be fun also add 2v2 arenas wich will you earn points and you will be able to take items with those points wich will improve your pvp...It's like choosing a road PvP or PvE.

When I started playing the Diablo 3 beta, I thought it was a normal, pretty boring hack n slash game. But when I began act 2, I obtained a Pokéball with a Pidgey in it! And guess what; I could fly all around Sanctuary with it!
Since i've started the beta, i have seen no enemies. I passed act 1 easily with very little resistance. The hymen was a great struggle, but with the latexy power of my fists demolished it. Act 2 didn't have much to speak upon, but in act 3, in the middle of town, when all went silent. A FREAKING ULRALISK UNBURROWED!!!! Cain rain,
women and children screamed, and i crapped my pants. (p.s. Nice pant crapping emote Blizzard.)
I have been playing the beta for several months now, i have found no signs of cows or anything yet... the one thing i have found is a random sword in act 2 sorta far off in the act you will find it in a stone glowing with GFS written on the stone it is stuck in... anyone that has played Diablo 2 vanilla will know what this is.. i cannot pull the sword from the stone as of now.. probably going to need a higher level or.. maybe something from a quest reward..? check it out sometime =]

After play-testing the game for a bit, I am allowed to share that at very high levels you will be given the chance to have a "reincarnation". This means that you will be able to change into a more powerful version of yourself but will have to sacrifice certain attributes to achieve this. After "reincarnating" myself, I can tell you that it drastically changes how you play any of the characters and will be a shock to most people. That is all I can say for now about this or anything else. Thanks.
Diablo 3 was like Diablo 2. Only with an extra roman numeral and better graphics. Witchdoctors are fun but OP. Pallys got nerfed (THANK THE LORD!!!). Oh and Diablo looks like a BAMF ;D.
Last boss in the beta drops a key with the shape of Diablo's Skull. I can't help but to believe that this key will open a godly chest to one of Diablo's Gear!

Alright so the game was 8/10 beside it was a beta of course but this game has alot of potential the character classes were even with the skills of many has use... of course this was a beta not the full game. Enemies were balance where even a 7 year old can actually play although i do not reccomend. the hot keys were a big fantastic addition to this saga cause its much easier due to the multiple skills that the characters have to offer. Beta = 8/10 This is a review of D3 expert.... Goodnight.
Diablo 3. All i have to say about this is...amazing. Big step up from Diablo 1 and 2 and has many features that will make both previous players and newcomers to the game extremely happy and content. The story revealed in the beta is just great and keeps you wanting to know more about the game. The PVP is great and after you complete the short piece of the story included in the beta it will keep you entertained for countless hours. Overall its a great expierience and I can't wait for Diablo3.
A few interresting things I learned from playing the beta: Òf course the cow level sees its triumphant return in Diablo 3. And so does "Uber Diablo". But this iteration is even more intricate and complex in his spawn rules. Wont spoil that ofcourse. But here is a big spoiler: There are actually well disguised hints in books like Cains Journal. (Not the online one.) But a special books drop in the game, which is a lore/story type reward that is very rare.
The most interesting part of the D3 beta by a very large margin is the introduction of multiclassing at the end of the third act. This was initially dis-heartening as there is only 1 act left until you learn of the 5th act. The fifth act has little story other than a very basic set up it is mostly just a new dungeon to grind and it can only be played on infinite climax mode (lol bayonneta joke) aka very hard.
Play test update: Loot hording. In regards to our stash/ shared stash. IT GROWS. so you start with 1 page in our stash that holds 100 boxes worth of loot. Now for every character that completes hell difficulty you gain another page of 100 boxes in the shared stash. These pages can also be named eg "amour" "barbarian items" or "trade items" to help sorting. You can have a max of 4 pages.
This rewards players slowly over the course of the game in that way that is outside the actual gamplay per se
Thought i would let you guys in on some beta info that will really help the overall experience with loot in Diablo. So not only can you customise when item names are displayed you can also make it so only certain types show up, eg rares, sets and uniques. so no more clouding the screen with white and grey text.
During gameplay i came to the conclusion that the diablo trilogy is fucking sweet and the best game ever made. like if you agree and win me a t-shirt :)
One cool thing I enjoyed while playing the beta was group abilities. These can be activated while being in a party and build up a special kind of party resource. when it would get maxed out, depending on your party's size and composition, you could unleash wicked cool aoe abilities (like mage + witch doctor fireball that heals or adds plague dmg lol) or group buffs (barbarian + monk that gives +hp/dmg) that would just make your party an unstoppable force against Hell's demons or Heaven's angels.
Playing the beta after a few levels I starting picking up some strange items that the use eluded me. Luckily, with my keen wit, I soon realized that weapons also had a strange new feature; the ability to customize by adding various blunt/spear/axe/knife/spike/chain pieces that can add another form of damage to the attack. Whether it be blinding, bleeding, slowing or knocking back all depending on which item you "socket" into the weapon. The best part was that it changed the items appearance!!
After beating all 3 difficulties, taking the book of cain to diablos spawn point, along with wirts leg will enable an Uber diablo played by chuck norris himself.
As a Beta tester, I can assure you guys will want to grab a copy of this iteration of the series. The things not released yet will blow your mind. From the community servers in main towns, instanced wild zones, and triumphent returns the best of all has to be the return of The Butcher. Forget the little squirt the Wirt, Zombie Butcher is the best.
I have been Beta testing the game so far since the Alpha phases and to most peoples dislike the testing phases are area and class bases so we might be only doing the starting zones with a certain class or certain quest. Not much balance testing has gone through for the PvP side of the game due to that will be mostly for the open beta testers. The closed beta testers have been getting the game rid of bugs and ready for the open beta. One sneak peak I will give you is this, the sorc class will....
I'm one of the few closed beta testers and there are two classes which were not officially announced - fatzo McDonald 'n' the half-man,half-chicken creature (apparently dumb as chicken), creature so fearsome that it was not announced because people would have been too scared to play Diablo III - Jeff (ugh it sounds scary ! ) These guys were so OP, that when you enter the character menu and pick one of them,Diablo instantly dies. SO OP ! :D:D
An interesting inside sc00p: the demonhunter splits into two units, a good hunter and her other side turns into an actual demon. This all happens at the end of act 3. The rage that she has tried to supress finally comes out and you and your friends have to fight the demon as a boss.
When I played D3 Beta I found out that you can actually use two shields.there are also no boring walks next to rivers you can just swim right through.you can also find wirt's (the peg legged boy from diablo 1) lost stock of items he left behind taken over by a crazy old man with which you can trade. you don't just fight monsters anymore people are also corrupted by the stench of evil.with the horadric cube you can mix potions and the blood of certain creatures to cahnge the effect of th potion
When i played the D3 Beta I was impressed by the way that the game kept up the pace of the action. From what I saw there was no repetetive gameplay (remember the horrible jungle in D2 Act III?) with different scenarios around every corner. I was also very impressed with the traps in D3 as they are much more inventive and hard to detect, whereas in D2 you would just run away from every chest whenever you heard a trap being released. :D
While I was playing the D3 beta on my Axe Barb earlier... When I was ww'ing through some monsters in Tristam Woods, a monster dropped a legendary item. I picked it up and equipped it when I noticed it said "item cannot be traded". Looks like soul-bound items are going to be implemented in D3.
So, I've been testing Diablo 3's for a bit and I'm actually not sure of what to think of this...
I was making sure there weren't any bugged walls by running into them (yay looking stupid). Surprisingly, in a dead end there was a corpse in a corner, and when I looted it I got an item with the text: "Unknown piece of armor, however you can make out M _ RL_ _ K MAR _ N _ DEVIS _ _ N F _ N"

You guys out there are crying about long cooldowns on your most powerful spells, get over it. "Long" is really only 12 seconds at most. The REAL reason you're going to spread your skill points around is because you are going to NEED upwards of 1 or 2 skills in each fight. I was playing a Witch Doctor and found myself using 5 of them regularly (Bombs, Dogs, Horrify, Wall of Zombies, Acid Cloud) and a few more situationally. This is because the AI is great and you need to think to beat it.
Isn't there a pvp section of diablo 3??? I thought they announced that last year at blizzcon. They were going to split up PvE and PvP into different game modes.
I have been play testing the beta for about 2 weeks now, and all I can say is WOW. So far it has been nothing but amazing =D . The only thing I'm confused about is that when act 2 started an omnipotent voice began to introduce the act, as well as the new environment. All fine and dandy, but at the end, the voice said " When the time comes you will know, and the 'leg' will guide you through.....Moooooooo"

So I was running through the so called Act 2, or as called within D3: "Shor'Dak City".
As it was during D2, Act 2 was as many can agree with.. a giant dune and desert, which is actually the exactly opposite during the Act in D3 ! Well, throughout this newly found city, there are many different NPCs wandering around asking for "Quest", but as I soon figured out, the quests were not what I expected.. it was more a Profession quest to obtain a job. So, yes you may need to plan ahead.. but GL&Ty!
One thing that really struck me as awesome doing the beta was the new Map system. On the map screen you will find class specific audio comments of the hero talking to himself about the areas you have visited. at the start of the game these comments are often quite humorous and fun but the further the hero gets into the world of sanctuary the more frightening and depressive it gets.. It really shows how the persons mentality is slowly breaking during his quest and adds another layer to the game.
You don't "beat the game "... In the final act just after you kill the last boss the earth opens up, hell's flames scorch the air as The Lord of Terror, Diablo RETURNS! You stand looking at each other for a few seconds and then Diablo smashes you into pieces. The only way to kill Diablo and "beat the game" is to find a very very very rare weapon, different for each class, which will allow you to engage Diablo and try to kill him. Wether Diablo dies or not depends only on the player's skills.
All the current gameplay footage you have seen is really combined and taken from act 1. In a strange twist the player awakens in act 2 as a bovine. You realize that cows are actually the superior race and humans are are not. All player characters are now cows and you finish the acts accordingly. After act 6 you are given the option to enter "The Secret Human Level" where you defeat the human king. Oddly enough the people still say moo...
A vast plain of ash, fire, and dark matters unknown surround a man who stands before a great iron forge. In one hand he holds an incandescent shard of burning blue and in the other a great hammer without the slightest of wear. The stranger peers intently into the glowing stone of essence held within as if searching for something and quickly as it comes -a flash of hatred merges and fades as Normal as a Nightmare comes from Hell then lingers in the mind for a time.
With fire in his heart he slams the blue stone upon the forge. Clenching the hammer in both hands he tightens his hold as if wringing its neck and with a decisively slow seal then reveal of his focused eyes the stranger heaves and with all the haste and strength of Heaven brings the hammer down true to rest in a cloud of sparkling blue dust upon the forge.
With that a second stone, one of deep red as bright as blood and fire mingled, is pulled from out the wearing of the stranger’s neck and placed upon the forge. This time it is placed without curious desire to see into its dark soul.
The stranger once again closes his eyes and almost posed like a riddle with question in his voice he whispers to himself, “not… even death… can save you… from me…” At this he swings back the hammer with great velocity and lifts it high into the air, but, with an illustration of sudden terror in his naked eyes as the laugh of Hell’s lord echoes from out the stone, he falters slightly and in doing so he slips his arch.
The hammer falls upon the soul stone and the splintering of red shards, not dust, hurl outward around the forge in a spray of violence. The stranger is wide eyed and stunned. Looking down, his shaky fingers clench at something. Past his plate, past his chain, and past his lucky wyrm hide, a shard as wide as his thumb gleams red, embedded grimly within his breast…Terror grips his heart.
As a Daiblo tester I am continuously frustrated that beta is only playable in hardcore mod, to ensure thorough testing. However, every time I near completion I meet the same grizzly fate. As I pass through the layers off hell in anticipation I can feel Diablo's breathe on my shoulder, but as I enter the final corridor I see none other then the Cow King slaying the Lord of Terror. Tears stroll down my face as the Cow King turns to me and decimates my mortal body.
Ill never forget the day I got the Diablo 3 Beta. I was almost in tears when i got started in Tristram and my first quest was to find the Pieces of King Leorics Crown. I traveled in it's vast landscape, killing Demons and enjoying the sites the world of Sancuary had to offer. My absolute favorite part though was going through the original 16 Levels of Diablo 1 in beautiful High Definition because I myself am very Nostalgic for Diablo 1. I cant wait for the full version!
I've been absolutely addicted to this Beta... and I haven't even started the main quest line yet! For days I've just been wandering around the vast landscape going on the seemingly endless sidequests and crawling around the huge dungeons. The optional bosses and absolutely awesome loot almost make Warcraft look bad. I can't wait to see all of the places that we'll be able to go when the full game comes out... Now, I'm off to slave over the storyline. x3
fully upgraded (must be fully upgraded) blacksmith and he will start a quest. Once you do some running around (need to collect specific spirits within an urn cain provides) you bring it back for a final turn it for an amazing augment/gem that goes into your sword, giving it epic properties. Definitely a great way of involving those who love long-term quests with great rewards!
One thing I enjoy the most about the beta - ever wonder what happened to Baal's soulstone? Since it became powerless due to the destruction of the world stone, it shattered into many pieces. We find this out in the beginning of the game. Pieces of it, called "Soulstone fragment", have a chance of dropping from any act boss. It's a low drop, mind you, but it gives good incentive to farm them for more than just gear. Should you collect 14 of them, you have the option to bring them to your (cont)
In Diablo III, there are no more runewords, however, there ARE gemwords that are present in the game. They are only truly beneficial to lower-level characters as they are more likely to encounter gem drops than rune drops in the lower acts of the normal difficulties. As players hit higher levels, runestone customization and more advanced skills become available that remove the need for gemwords. In my experience, they were very useful in getting through the first end act boss with my Barbarian.
I was playing the beta and all of a sudden I was given a quest to go and save Deckard Cain. He was in grave danger so I did when any other powerful wizard would do and I rushed to the aid of my fellow man. Unfortunately I was not swift enough to reach Deckard Cain before he was brutally tortured and left for dead. With his dieing breath he handed me a book. A book of amazing knowledge called The Book Of Cain and within it unveils the secrets of defeating Diablo's demonic threat!
they're delaying the release of this game SO much that when it releases, if it isn't the most BADASS game blizzard's ever made, well, I think there will be quite a few haters...
I stumbled upon a very peculiar easter egg in New Tristram, in the far bottom-right corner. There was a miniature Infested Kerrigan jumping about. It would burrow underground when clicked.
Actually, while I was playing along trying out a new quest "sideline" they recently added in Patch 0.6001 I found a new interesting race of sorts.
The questline, located in Xiansai, leads you to a wise female Wizard to gain information regarding the recent upcoming of this new race in the far, far north. I didn't pay too much attention to the name of the new race. More was I enjoying the rumored asian architecture and the like.
Much to my surprise, I found.. the Furloc. Confused, placeholder?
During act 4 of the Diablo 3 beta you get to fight lillith and it is a CRAZY fight, i died many times in a glorious rage. It was so fun and she had really great animations. As a side note Blizzard decided to be funny. During act 4 as your running along there is a cloaked figure named "The Wanderer". If you talk to him he says "WELCOME TO THE WANDERER'S WANDERING SHOP" and you can buy an epic weapon for each class but they cost a ridiculous amount of money. Oh Blizzard, I almost shit my pants.
whilst playing the diablo 3 beta, i was suprised to find all 5 classes have a class specific buff that not only grants 10% of the classes favored stat but records data and sends it to blizzard so they can catch botters and come down on hackers harder then ever before.
Tired and weak I stumbled across a place called "The Den of Sorrow" I proceeded inside to find the spirit of the unnamed hero from D1, after trying to communicate with him he simply lowers his head and sways is in despair. Upon trying to leave the room the spirit disappears and a single piece of the Diablo soulstone drops from his being. This gives you an optional quest to collect 10 pieces of the Diablo soulstone but for what reason is unknown to me...
Diablo 3 is so awesome.But act 4 really blew my mind.I mean haven and hell fighting together against the humans???It was so awesome.Killing the hordes of demons and angels coming towards you was so great and how it ended.....Lilith poping out of nowhere and stopping the attack.Truly amazing.
Now in possession ofthe artifact a portal opened right in front me,the villageleader came to me.He kindly asked that i give him the artifact in return for a reward.I agreed but i insisted that we return to the village first,he refused burt eventually complied.I was about to give itto him after returning to the village together,but once in the village,I saw the same village leader,before realizing it the first one knocked me down,took the artifact and re-entered the portal which closed behind him

They claimed like a year ago or more that Diablo 3 would DEFINITELY have the MOST content of any game they had released. That probably wasn't meant to include WoW, but even so... kind of a big let down if they are going back on their word!

See, hearing that they have "surpassed" the length is disheartening. It was supposed to BLOW AWAY Diablo 2's length. 'Surpass' my ass! I was expecting at least 2-3 TIMES Diablo 2.

@i3rucei3ruce Well 2-3 times longer is out of the question as that's a 10-15 Act game and I just don't think it will happen. The video at around 0:51 explains the length of Diablo3 vs 2 and if i recall correctly Jay Wilson said that your first runthrough (normal difficulty) would be ~20 hours of gameplay. Not to mention there will be a fourth "Inferno" difficulty after Hell. You can also expect a number of expansion sets. Besides quality > quantity

Oblivion (a 5-year-old game) takes 300 hours to finish all dungeons and quests. Diablo 3 should be similar, or else, what's the point of waiting 11 years after D2?

@i3rucei3ruce Yeah you're right with the Acts, but don't overlook the the 4 difficulty's which essentially quadruple the length of the game (though this is kind of a cop-out). Diablo 3 also has randomized quest events so one run through can be significantly longer than one you did previously, this is somewhat similar to what you mentioned above with Oblivion as you can stick to the main story and rush through, or you can fully explore it and take your time with the side quests.

I started playing the Diablo 3 Beta, and spent about 15 minutes walking around the first act and just marveling at how great the spells work and how awesome the graphics looked. I then spent $30 at the auction house to take my character directly to end credits (because why bother playing the game when I can just pay money and beat it instantly) and it was awesome! I have no idea what actually happens in the game, but I don't care, because I got money.

i think hostility should be in the game. it was always cool when some jerk joined your game and killed every one, and then you msg a friend and he comes in with a bad ass character and wipes the floor with them. always seemed that a low lvl character would enter than leave, and then magically a lvl 90 whatever would enter and and then go hostile.

@Phili721 He didn't say that the acts will be smaller than in D2, but that they will just like in d2 make the first act big and gradually make the next acts smaller.
But act 3 in D2 was pretty big... so it doesn't really make sense.

After long days playing diablo 3 I realized that if you finish the last boss and go back to the begining of the level you will se on a wall a poster of peon from warcraft 3 saying: "Me Bussy! Leave me alone ! " and if you click on it you will get the best items in diablo 3 !

I've been beta testing for weeks, and finally, i found out something. If you kill the final boss(and yes, he does drop a massive health potion in the form of a cheese) and restart, if you go to the Skeleton King, for some reason his ghost is attackable, and if you kill it before it reaches his body, it opens a portal to a StarCraft 2 level, with Zerg and (drum roll) Sarah Kerrigan. I would post a video, but its only once per character and I only just noticed.

This is too late for the weekly deal, but... I was playing the other week, and for the beta they offered everyone the choice in "The Sanctuary" to get any type of items from the vendors offered there that normally you have to buy with some sort of currency. Anyways The Sanctuary is a town that's safe to everyone and not hostility can be made, but the entire time your in the town it's under siege, and people are constantly dying. Over time each game has the Sanctuary overrun by demons... Sweet

It's pretty good I suggest more classes like casters and another healer / melee class would be fun also add 2v2 arenas wich will you earn points and you will be able to take items with those points wich will improve your pvp...It's like choosing a road PvP or PvE.

When I started playing the Diablo 3 beta, I thought it was a normal, pretty boring hack n slash game. But when I began act 2, I obtained a Pokéball with a Pidgey in it! And guess what; I could fly all around Sanctuary with it!

Since i've started the beta, i have seen no enemies. I passed act 1 easily with very little resistance. The hymen was a great struggle, but with the latexy power of my fists demolished it. Act 2 didn't have much to speak upon, but in act 3, in the middle of town, when all went silent. A FREAKING ULRALISK UNBURROWED!!!! Cain rain,
women and children screamed, and i crapped my pants. (p.s. Nice pant crapping emote Blizzard.)

I have been playing the beta for several months now, i have found no signs of cows or anything yet... the one thing i have found is a random sword in act 2 sorta far off in the act you will find it in a stone glowing with GFS written on the stone it is stuck in... anyone that has played Diablo 2 vanilla will know what this is.. i cannot pull the sword from the stone as of now.. probably going to need a higher level or.. maybe something from a quest reward..? check it out sometime =]

After play-testing the game for a bit, I am allowed to share that at very high levels you will be given the chance to have a "reincarnation". This means that you will be able to change into a more powerful version of yourself but will have to sacrifice certain attributes to achieve this. After "reincarnating" myself, I can tell you that it drastically changes how you play any of the characters and will be a shock to most people. That is all I can say for now about this or anything else. Thanks.

Diablo 3 was like Diablo 2. Only with an extra roman numeral and better graphics. Witchdoctors are fun but OP. Pallys got nerfed (THANK THE LORD!!!). Oh and Diablo looks like a BAMF ;D.

Alright so the game was 8/10 beside it was a beta of course but this game has alot of potential the character classes were even with the skills of many has use... of course this was a beta not the full game. Enemies were balance where even a 7 year old can actually play although i do not reccomend. the hot keys were a big fantastic addition to this saga cause its much easier due to the multiple skills that the characters have to offer. Beta = 8/10 This is a review of D3 expert.... Goodnight.

Diablo 3. All i have to say about this is...amazing. Big step up from Diablo 1 and 2 and has many features that will make both previous players and newcomers to the game extremely happy and content. The story revealed in the beta is just great and keeps you wanting to know more about the game. The PVP is great and after you complete the short piece of the story included in the beta it will keep you entertained for countless hours. Overall its a great expierience and I can't wait for Diablo3.

A few interresting things I learned from playing the beta: Òf course the cow level sees its triumphant return in Diablo 3. And so does "Uber Diablo". But this iteration is even more intricate and complex in his spawn rules. Wont spoil that ofcourse. But here is a big spoiler: There are actually well disguised hints in books like Cains Journal. (Not the online one.) But a special books drop in the game, which is a lore/story type reward that is very rare.

The most interesting part of the D3 beta by a very large margin is the introduction of multiclassing at the end of the third act. This was initially dis-heartening as there is only 1 act left until you learn of the 5th act. The fifth act has little story other than a very basic set up it is mostly just a new dungeon to grind and it can only be played on infinite climax mode (lol bayonneta joke) aka very hard.

Play test update: Loot hording. In regards to our stash/ shared stash. IT GROWS. so you start with 1 page in our stash that holds 100 boxes worth of loot. Now for every character that completes hell difficulty you gain another page of 100 boxes in the shared stash. These pages can also be named eg "amour" "barbarian items" or "trade items" to help sorting. You can have a max of 4 pages.
This rewards players slowly over the course of the game in that way that is outside the actual gamplay per se

Thought i would let you guys in on some beta info that will really help the overall experience with loot in Diablo. So not only can you customise when item names are displayed you can also make it so only certain types show up, eg rares, sets and uniques. so no more clouding the screen with white and grey text.

One cool thing I enjoyed while playing the beta was group abilities. These can be activated while being in a party and build up a special kind of party resource. when it would get maxed out, depending on your party's size and composition, you could unleash wicked cool aoe abilities (like mage + witch doctor fireball that heals or adds plague dmg lol) or group buffs (barbarian + monk that gives +hp/dmg) that would just make your party an unstoppable force against Hell's demons or Heaven's angels.

Playing the beta after a few levels I starting picking up some strange items that the use eluded me. Luckily, with my keen wit, I soon realized that weapons also had a strange new feature; the ability to customize by adding various blunt/spear/axe/knife/spike/chain pieces that can add another form of damage to the attack. Whether it be blinding, bleeding, slowing or knocking back all depending on which item you "socket" into the weapon. The best part was that it changed the items appearance!!

As a Beta tester, I can assure you guys will want to grab a copy of this iteration of the series. The things not released yet will blow your mind. From the community servers in main towns, instanced wild zones, and triumphent returns the best of all has to be the return of The Butcher. I have been Beta testing the game so far since the Alpha phases and to most peoples dislike the testing phases are area and class bases so we might be only doing the starting zones with a certain class or certain quest. Not much balance testing has gone through for the PvP side of the game due to that will be mostly for the open beta testers. The closed beta testers have been getting the game rid of bugs and ready for the open beta. One sneak peak I will give you is this, the sorc class will....

I'm one of the few closed beta testers and there are two classes which were not officially announced - fatzo McDonald 'n' the half-man,half-chicken creature (apparently dumb as chicken), creature so fearsome that it was not announced because people would have been too scared to play Diablo III - Jeff (ugh it sounds scary ! ) These guys were so OP, that when you enter the character menu and pick one of them,Diablo instantly dies. SO OP ! :D:D

An interesting inside sc00p: the demonhunter splits into two units, a good hunter and her other side turns into an actual demon. This all happens at the end of act 3. The rage that she has tried to supress finally comes out and you and your friends have to fight the demon as a boss.

When I played D3 Beta I found out that you can actually use two shields.there are also no boring walks next to rivers you can just swim right through.you can also find wirt's (the peg legged boy from diablo 1) lost stock of items he left behind taken over by a crazy old man with which you can trade. you don't just fight monsters anymore people are also corrupted by the stench of evil.with the horadric cube you can mix potions and the blood of certain creatures to cahnge the effect of th potion

When i played the D3 Beta I was impressed by the way that the game kept up the pace of the action. From what I saw there was no repetetive gameplay (remember the horrible jungle in D2 Act III?) with different scenarios around every corner. I was also very impressed with the traps in D3 as they are much more inventive and hard to detect, whereas in D2 you would just run away from every chest whenever you heard a trap being released. :D

While I was playing the D3 beta on my Axe Barb earlier... When I was ww'ing through some monsters in Tristam Woods, a monster dropped a legendary item. I picked it up and equipped it when I noticed it said "item cannot be traded". Looks like soul-bound items are going to be implemented in D3.

So, I've been testing Diablo 3's for a bit and I'm actually not sure of what to think of this...
I was making sure there weren't any bugged walls by running into them (yay looking stupid). Surprisingly, in a dead end there was a corpse in a corner, and when I looted it I got an item with the text: "Unknown piece of armor, however you can make out M _ RL_ _ K MAR _ N _ DEVIS _ _ N F _ N"
In game easter egg referring to the murlock marine? Or a joke for the play testers? I'll let you decide.

You guys out there are crying about long cooldowns on your most powerful spells, get over it. "Long" is really only 12 seconds at most. The REAL reason you're going to spread your skill points around is because you are going to NEED upwards of 1 or 2 skills in each fight. I was playing a Witch Doctor and found myself using 5 of them regularly (Bombs, Dogs, Horrify, Wall of Zombies, Acid Cloud) and a few more situationally. This is because the AI is great and you need to think to beat it.

Hi, I have been play testing Diablo 3 for the last three month, my sector was mainly tweaking out item dropping mechanics.
-The replacement attribute for "Better chance of finding magical items" in Diablo 2, will simply be "luck".
-This new attribute for items will allow higher chances of beneficial actions such as critical strike, blocking, and along with item drop.
-Item classes are still under development so the specific percentages for monster loots are still under development as well.

I have been play testing the beta for about 2 weeks now, and all I can say is WOW. So far it has been nothing but amazing =D . The only thing I'm confused about is that when act 2 started an omnipotent voice began to introduce the act, as well as the new environment. All fine and dandy, but at the end, the voice said " When the time comes you will know, and the 'leg' will guide you through.....Moooooooo"
Maybe someone could help shine some light on this. =D

So I was running through the so called Act 2, or as called within D3: "Shor'Dak City".
As it was during D2, Act 2 was as many can agree with.. a giant dune and desert, which is actually the exactly opposite during the Act in D3 ! Well, throughout this newly found city, there are many different NPCs wandering around asking for "Quest", but as I soon figured out, the quests were not what I expected.. it was more a Profession quest to obtain a job. So, yes you may need to plan ahead.. but GL&Ty!

One thing that really struck me as awesome doing the beta was the new Map system. On the map screen you will find class specific audio comments of the hero talking to himself about the areas you have visited. at the start of the game these comments are often quite humorous and fun but the further the hero gets into the world of sanctuary the more frightening and depressive it gets.. It really shows how the persons mentality is slowly breaking during his quest and adds another layer to the game.

You don't "beat the game "... In the final act just after you kill the last boss the earth opens up, hell's flames scorch the air as The Lord of Terror, Diablo RETURNS! You stand looking at each other for a few seconds and then Diablo smashes you into pieces. The only way to kill Diablo and "beat the game" is to find a very very very rare weapon, different for each class, which will allow you to engage Diablo and try to kill him. Wether Diablo dies or not depends only on the player's skills.

All the current gameplay footage you have seen is really combined and taken from act 1. In a strange twist the player awakens in act 2 as a bovine. You realize that cows are actually the superior race and humans are are not. All player characters are now cows and you finish the acts accordingly. After act 6 you are given the option to enter "The Secret Human Level" where you defeat the human king. Oddly enough the people still say moo...

A vast plain of ash, fire, and dark matters unknown surround a man who stands before a great iron forge. In one hand he holds an incandescent shard of burning blue and in the other a great hammer without the slightest of wear. The stranger peers intently into the glowing stone of essence held within as if searching for something and quickly as it comes -a flash of hatred merges and fades as Normal as a Nightmare comes from Hell then lingers in the mind for a time.

With fire in his heart he slams the blue stone upon the forge. Clenching the hammer in both hands he tightens his hold as if wringing its neck and with a decisively slow seal then reveal of his focused eyes the stranger heaves and with all the haste and strength of Heaven brings the hammer down true to rest in a cloud of sparkling blue dust upon the forge.

The stranger once again closes his eyes and almost posed like a riddle with question in his voice he whispers to himself, “not… even death… can save you… from me…” At this he swings back the hammer with great velocity and lifts it high into the air, but, with an illustration of sudden terror in his naked eyes as the laugh of Hell’s lord echoes from out the stone, he falters slightly and in doing so he slips his arch.

The hammer falls upon the soul stone and the splintering of red shards, not dust, hurl outward around the forge in a spray of violence. The stranger is wide eyed and stunned. Looking down, his shaky fingers clench at something. Past his plate, past his chain, and past his lucky wyrm hide, a shard as wide as his thumb gleams red, embedded grimly within his breast…Terror grips his heart.

As a Daiblo tester I am continuously frustrated that beta is only playable in hardcore mod, to ensure thorough testing. However, every time I near completion I meet the same grizzly fate. As I pass through the layers off hell in anticipation I can feel Diablo's breathe on my shoulder, but as I enter the final corridor I see none other then the Cow King slaying the Lord of Terror. Tears stroll down my face as the Cow King turns to me and decimates my mortal body.

Ill never forget the day I got the Diablo 3 Beta. I was almost in tears when i got started in Tristram and my first quest was to find the Pieces of King Leorics Crown. I traveled in it's vast landscape, killing Demons and enjoying the sites the world of Sancuary had to offer. My absolute favorite part though was going through the original 16 Levels of Diablo 1 in beautiful High Definition because I myself am very Nostalgic for Diablo 1. I cant wait for the full version!

I've been absolutely addicted to this Beta... and I haven't even started the main quest line yet! For days I've just been wandering around the vast landscape going on the seemingly endless sidequests and crawling around the huge dungeons. The optional bosses and absolutely awesome loot almost make Warcraft look bad. I can't wait to see all of the places that we'll be able to go when the full game comes out... Now, I'm off to slave over the storyline. x3

fully upgraded (must be fully upgraded) blacksmith and he will start a quest. Once you do some running around (need to collect specific spirits within an urn cain provides) you bring it back for a final turn it for an amazing augment/gem that goes into your sword, giving it epic properties. Definitely a great way of involving those who love long-term quests with great rewards!

One thing I enjoy the most about the beta - ever wonder what happened to Baal's soulstone? Since it became powerless due to the destruction of the world stone, it shattered into many pieces. We find this out in the beginning of the game. Pieces of it, called "Soulstone fragment", have a chance of dropping from any act boss. It's a low drop, mind you, but it gives good incentive to farm them for more than just gear. Should you collect 14 of them, you have the option to bring them to your (cont)

In Diablo III, there are no more runewords, however, there ARE gemwords that are present in the game. They are only truly beneficial to lower-level characters as they are more likely to encounter gem drops than rune drops in the lower acts of the normal difficulties. As players hit higher levels, runestone customization and more advanced skills become available that remove the need for gemwords. In my experience, they were very useful in getting through the first end act boss with my Barbarian.

I was playing the beta and all of a sudden I was given a quest to go and save Deckard Cain. He was in grave danger so I did when any other powerful wizard would do and I rushed to the aid of my fellow man. Unfortunately I was not swift enough to reach Deckard Cain before he was brutally tortured and left for dead. With his dieing breath he handed me a book. A book of amazing knowledge called The Book Of Cain and within it unveils the secrets of defeating Diablo's demonic threat!

In a fast mouse click movement, I went in front and enter in the portal before it.

I stumbled upon a very peculiar easter egg in New Tristram, in the far bottom-right corner. There was a miniature Infested Kerrigan jumping about. It would burrow underground when clicked.

Actually, while I was playing along trying out a new quest "sideline" they recently added in Patch 0.6001 I found a new interesting race of sorts.
The questline, located in Xiansai, leads you to a wise female Wizard to gain information regarding the recent upcoming of this new race in the far, far north. I didn't pay too much attention to the name of the new race. More was I enjoying the rumored asian architecture and the like.
Much to my surprise, I found.. the Furloc. Confused, placeholder?

During act 4 of the Diablo 3 beta you get to fight lillith and it is a CRAZY fight, i died many times in a glorious rage. It was so fun and she had really great animations. As a side note Blizzard decided to be funny. During act 4 as your running along there is a cloaked figure named "The Wanderer". If you talk to him he says "WELCOME TO THE WANDERER'S WANDERING SHOP" and you can buy an epic weapon for each class but they cost a ridiculous amount of money. Oh Blizzard, I almost shit my pants.

whilst playing the diablo 3 beta, i was suprised to find all 5 classes have a class specific buff that not only grants 10% of the classes favored stat but records data and sends it to blizzard so they can catch botters and come down on hackers harder then ever before.

Tired and weak I stumbled across a place called "The Den of Sorrow" I proceeded inside to find the spirit of the unnamed hero from D1, after trying to communicate with him he simply lowers his head and sways is in despair. Upon trying to leave the room the spirit disappears and a single piece of the Diablo soulstone drops from his being. This gives you an optional quest to collect 10 pieces of the Diablo soulstone but for what reason is unknown to me...

Diablo 3 is so awesome.But act 4 really blew my mind.I mean haven and hell fighting together against the humans???It was so awesome.Killing the hordes of demons and angels coming towards you was so great and how it ended.....Lilith poping out of nowhere and stopping the attack.Truly amazing.

Now in possession ofthe artifact a portal opened right in front me,the villageleader came to me.He kindly asked that i give him the artifact in return for a reward.I agreed but i insisted that we return to the village first,he refused burt eventually complied.I was about to give itto him after returning to the village together,but once in the village,I saw the same village leader,before realizing it the first one knocked me down,took the artifact and re-entered the portal which closed behind him
