I'm an average Sagat player, and I can tell you that this Honda would cream me. Unlike Mago, I can't Kara-anything reliably, and my jaw dropped when I saw him Kara-TU a blocked Sumo Headbutt. I always thought that was gonna be safe on block.

great akimo ! I just don't respect Sagat players anymore... I just hate the cheap way of playing sagat, and the OP of this characters... much much more skill on akimo side (zoning, combos, etc...)

Umm.. if anything this match showed that Mago had better zoning. He shot tigershots at just the right space that any jump ins akimo did could be punished on reaction with a DP. He used his normals to screw with Akimo's jump timing and then nail him midair with shot moving tiger shots. Bad sagats may win more games against equally bad Hondas but who the hell cares about how good a character is if both people are crappy players to begin with.

That's completly stupid, if every characters was equal you could say that, but that no the case, Sagat ultra is very easy to do, he has more energy, double touch always cancel and can be follow by HK and/or ultra. he has strong projectiles, with kara-triger he can it from far away, so please this character is overpower, and specially against an honda player....

sagat still takes skill to play, even though he has an advantage over every character. its not like mago could just do whatever he wanted and still beaten akimo, he had to try and play smart, he just simply had a great advantage.

it sucks, but you cant discredit the players when they didnt balance the game.

It's true, Mago is a great player, and he can play his sagat very smart. It's just than on live, I am tired to fight "Tiger-shot-crazy Sagat".. and I am tired of the double-touch- cancel - HK - Ultra... which is so unfair, and SO unbalance...

So I don't blame the players, I just don't admire them compare to low-tier-character players ( Akimo - TKD - Shiro - Abel's Ojisanboy - Momochi - Nemo) they are GREAT players

Dude, is not that imbalance..even the top players agree with the tier B-D is very tight. Matchup adv/disadv exist because the fighting styles for characters are different. You can pick your character and don't just cry out you lose because of the tier. That is very lame, take it like a man plz...

For strategy against noob sagat, try to get into close/mid range, they won't be able to pull out links cause that require practicing. Be careful once they have 2 super and ultra, try to lure them to do uppercut first.. you know.

I don't cry out, don't misunderstand me. I have around 18000 GP in G1 on live with my honda. I do have some strategy against sagat players. No problem with that.

All I say is a sagat player need less skill than another character, because, it's seriously easy to use some of the deadly combo of sagat. The HK-Ultra combo is very easy to pull out. and the chain LK-LK-Tiger knew as well.

I just don't like to fight them because, it's simply boring ! At least, ryu player have different fighting plan, you can be surprise.

I just have a lot more respect for my opponent when it's an Abel/Fuerte/Sim with +20K GP. This requires serious skills to acheive this.

quite the opposite; linking Sagat's shorts and jabs are much harder because they can't be chained like Ryu's. And execution-wise, it's much easier to mess up TU FADC > f. rh > Ultra than Ryu's SRK FADC > Ultra.

Sagat's normals are slow and his footsie game is weak. He is definitely not "overpowered" - at least not in high level play. At casual level, yes, because players aren't skilled enough to get beyond his zoning.

How many Sagat's made top 8 at Evo? zero.

yes, maybe... you right. It's true that once you manage the zoning he become a lot easier than other characters... If capcom would have "sent to the ground" both player when there is double-touche (so sagat could not link HK-Ultra) I would not bitching too much about him...

Anyway, that's not the one I have the hardest time to manage... for my honda, I got much harder time to handle good ruy or good boxer (specialy boxer..)

hey I do understand where you're coming from especially because you main Honda, it's very difficult for you to get past FB spam.

But it does take a decent amount of skill and consistent execution to play Sagat at tourney-level. I don't use Sagat because my execution doesn't allow me to get to past %50 on his bnbs, unlike Ryu where i'm at 95%.
