the film does have it's issues but i thought it was still a very well made film and an entertaining sci fi horror. it would've been better if the directer kept the atmosphere dark, intense and mysterious. The film was too short for me and it didn't have enough creepy moments like in Ringu, SHutter (the original asian ones), alien and Aliens.

I don't think Resident Evil is QUITE as bad as its reputation, though the sequels were total shit. Anderson hasn't written much quality work. He should just focus on directing.

Quite frankly, Event Horizon didn't need to be deep to be good. It showed us a view of Hell that was quite unnerving. It's almost scary to think that the final version of the film is actually a much more toned down version of what Paul Anderson wanted.

The movie is about the concept of "wormholes" inthe universe and where would it take us. Iin this case "HELL" I like that concept and thought the movie was good. A horror movie is not about being artistic, but more to scare and thrill. Get a new day job boys, critics talk out thier ass and u r the worst kind.

they made a special edition dvd so the movie has improved a bit but even with half the scenes deleted making it a so called failure its still a great sci fi horror :)
