Any Day Now is in my humble opinion the greatest track ever recorded and of course Chucks the greatest singer ever we all know that. .......Another great track of his is " Where do i go from here "
Top tune from way back... Tell Her That I'm Happy, Go on and tell Her That I'm Free.... and say Chuck won't have it Any Other Way.. Just brill! thanks livisoul.. MR.BP
As a honkie growing up in Macon, GA in the 50's/60's, I agree. I used to see Otis Redding, Bobby "Blue" Bland, James Brown, Patti Labelle, (& the Blue Bells at the time) all the time. There are plenty of good black dinginh voices. Robert Cray? Chris Thomas King? Otis Taylor?
57WILL you say William Bell. Are you sure I remember Jackie Shane, tell her I'm free use to be tell he I'm Gaye. The sexual conontation was there, but not so obvious in those days. He was pretty as a girl.
Willia Bell originally recorded, and had a hit, with this song, but to me, this is the definitive version. Chuck put his stamp all over this song, as he did so many others. Just another great soul performance on wax by Chuck Jackson, underrated soul man!
Feckin brilliant ;-)

I love this song, thanks for sharing it. Wow where have all the great black singing voices gone? Why are there no new ones to replace them? Very sad.
