  • Feckin brilliant ;-)

  • Nice , but Jackie Shane's version is better.

  • Any Day Now is in my humble opinion the greatest track ever recorded and of course Chucks the greatest singer ever we all know that. .......Another great track of his is " Where do i go from here "

  • Top tune from way back... Tell Her That I'm Happy, Go on and tell Her That I'm Free.... and say Chuck won't have it Any Other Way.. Just brill! thanks livisoul.. MR.BP

  • eventhough i am not from that time i love this song!

    it just grooves :)

  • The great Chuck Jackson, what a voice!

  • Just a great oldies song. One of the best! The tune, the background singers. Great if you are from that period.

  • @usmcbob01 its great for me and im from todays society boo! :D

  • Too bad he had to say "free" instead of the original "gay". it doesn't rhyme with "way".

    ruins song for me.

  • Fantastic vocals......Power.......and then some.

  • Okay Chuck you can sing. Thanks you very much. Love you.

  • wooow great tune !! :)

  • hi ann....totally agree with you

  • Sorry but Jackie Shane does a much better version, more soulfull. That being said Chuck Jackson is great.

  • Chuck Jackson was one of my idols growing up. I have an autograph from him I got when he came to Cleveland.

  • A great gem to post... Thanks for putting this up!

  • I love this song, thanks for sharing it. Wow where have all the great black singing voices gone? Why are there no new ones to replace them? Very sad.

  • As a honkie growing up in Macon, GA in the 50's/60's, I agree. I used to see Otis Redding, Bobby "Blue" Bland, James Brown, Patti Labelle, (& the Blue Bells at the time) all the time. There are plenty of good black dinginh voices. Robert Cray? Chris Thomas King? Otis Taylor?

  • Love it! Great post!

Thank you and to Bob for sharing!

  • 57WILL you say William Bell. Are you sure I remember Jackie Shane, tell her I'm free use to be tell he I'm Gaye. The sexual conontation was there, but not so obvious in those days. He was pretty as a girl.

  • Yes, William Bell recorded this first.

  • my parents are guyanese and grew up on this music which in turn I grew up on....thanks

  • Willia Bell originally recorded, and had a hit, with this song, but to me, this is the definitive version. Chuck put his stamp all over this song, as he did so many others. Just another great soul performance on wax by Chuck Jackson, underrated soul man!

  • best artist on the planet an some

  • Oh yes, just a fantastic track by Mr Jackson, thanks for this! Ktf
