He just couldn't get it together in 1929.)
I like the "updated" version you do here but the song was originally written about the assassination of William McKinley and his being succeeded by a young Teddy Roosevelt. Many versions have been done by various bluegrass groups. But, yea, the parallels to our own time are hard to ignore as someone else said. I wish more people took an interest in our counties past instead of allowing so much of it to be repeated.
