  • Sweet version. Could have done without the choking at the end though!

  • subcool420

  • I love you lindsey. Idk how many times I've replayed this video trying to ear out what your doing here, but it just isnt working! What a man can do with just his acoustic guitar and vocals....

  • That was a great vid

  • Can't member the last time music made me cry. This was amazing

  • This is better than the original.

And probably the only memorable FleetMac track for me. I kinda have trouble digesting the rest of their music.

  • Ok that was 3:24 minutes they will never take away for me again .. .. love it !!!

  • he fingerd a chick once.. she died

  • Gettin on a bit since the 97 version but still a natural

  • He is amazing! This video gives me goosebumps x

  • another amazing song, thanks for posting..got the perfect video for this in my head..thanks for posting

  • sexy buzing

  • "Yo, watch this! I can play with my eyes closed. Bet YOU can't do that, you amateur!"

  • Ppl disliking this is a bunch of kids who doesn't understand the music. It's not Bieber you know ;)

You have to understand something to like it and I guess this kind of music gets them confused.

  • Rolling Stone named him 100 of the 100 Greatest guitarists? What a bunch of shit, Lindsey is the Master.

  • Lindsey "Slow Hand" Buckingham ^^

  • this fucker soundsl like he has 5 hands. lol no one should be able to play like that. especially on an acoustic.............

  • @lemans24fan Let's not use f-bombs to refer to Mr. Buckingham directly. I mean..come on... listen to him!

  • @f0rmaggi0 shut up cunt

  • @pharkyew2 Thanks for that. I have a weakness for senseless little-dick comebacks.

  • The most talented guitar player in the world.

  • Awesome fingering acoustics.

  • Brilliant. Glad I grew up when I did. Would be sad to do it today.

  • Nice performance big fan!

  • I'd say he's played before.

  • yeap...what a player..wow

  • Epic performance, still makes the hairs on my arms stand up!

  • Too bad the image is smooshed. YouT, fix this!

  • so gawd damn powerful

  • SILENCE, the guitar MASTER is playing. I got to see this man at Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston. He is remarkable.

  • How do 40 people dislike this? Ignorance is not bliss in this case. Morons! Certainly one of the most under rated guitarists of out time. Just check out the top 100 guitarists list in Rolling Stone magazine where L.B. is ranked #100 by his peers. Douchebags!

  • most underrated guitarist ever

  • not human.

  • I am going to watch this 111037 times...just to get it to the million..where it deserves...

  • @999billywhizz Agreed. I'm right behind you brother

  • Awesome....it does not get better than this...

  • A quarter of a century later and strangely this song still has it's original power... thanks brother.

  • One of my all time favorite singers and guitar players. Truely awsome performance

  • i saw them in birmingham a few years back - this song was the highlight. in all honesty i've seen a lot of gigs but this is one of the best live performances ever. sublime

  • Lindsey -my apologies on spelling

  • There is Lindsay as a guitarist, vocalist, composer and then the rest. Among the elite in all categories.

  • @JasonFeinman1369

Spot on. People often forget that aside from being an unbelievable guitarist he was the principal creative force behind FM at their peak from writing all the way through putting the tracks down and producing in the studio.

I can't think of any single person/artist that is as talented in all of these areas as Lindsey.

  • I've been playing guitar for 40 years and I can tell you this is a command performance. Being able to play and sing like that is almost supernatural. Thank you Lindsey!

  • fantastico.......

  • No backing. No assistance. No sound man doing his stuff, only Lindsey. Magic.

  • A Master Musician , plane and simple

  • Even chuck norris just shit the chair!!! If he fingered a girl like that guitar. She'd blow a hole in the roof....

  • thats was fucking epic. wish i could play that lol. learning it but i suck at it =(

  • @zeagax13 Don't be ashamed. That merely means that you're mortal.

  • Dear Lindsey r u God?

  • this song is fun to play cause its so fast

  • awesome!!

  • asombroso

  • his voice and guitar , incredible!!!

  • This guy is astounding

  • First there's Lindsey...........then there's the rest of 'em.

  • apsolutely beautiful wat a godess

  • Wow.....it sounds like there are two or three guitars playing.....he is amazing.

  • And people try to argue that Peter Green was superior to Lindsey. What a joke. Lindsey is the best guitarist Fleetwood Mac ever had.

  • Incredible!

  • Seeing this live a couple of years ago in Glasgow, totally face meltingly good!

  • I get the goose bumps when i listen to this version... amazing....

  • How can anyone dislike this?!?! Is it the leather?

  • Anyone who paused this video for checking out if he had 10 fingers each hand, thumbs up.

  • No one finger fucks a guitar like Linds.

  • @dixiechickntx

Tommy Emmanuel, Gareth Pearson... They don't do it like him, they do it SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER.

  • @dixiechickntx I can only hope to finger that well. For now anyway. :D

  • @dixiechickntx you've obviously never heard of Tommy Emmanuel then! that said, lindsey IS great.

  • W-O-W... just WOW!

  • I saw him do this from the 3rd row of a very small 1000 seat auditorium last night. With the exception of David Gilmour, I think Lindsey is probably the single most talented performer I have ever seen live. His pure talent and incredible crowd interaction made for a show I would rank in the top 5 I have ever seen. And I've seen a BUNCH of them.

  • He must have 2 brains. One for his fingers/hands, the other for vocals. Good lord!

  • You always hear about Clapton, Page, SRV, etc... And while they are truly great, this man has not received anywhere near the recognition he deserves.

Underrated? You fuckin' right he's underrated.

  • @rubbersole79 Ditto!

  • "So then I walked off stage, grabbed my single malt back and told him if he ever talked shit about me losing my edge again I would smack him like the little girl he is. Since then, John McVie has been a pleasure to work with" ~ Lindsay Buckingham

  • the god is playing !!!

  • @tschiller91 ...Where? I don't see Bob Dylan anywhere in this video...lol......

  • Saw him 2 times in Van in 2006, nothing short of unbelievable. Signed my 6 string guitar after the show. We were all mesmorized just watching him!!!

  • One fleetwood mac had peter green in it And the other one had lindsey buckingham That's like hitting the lottery jackpot twice-- Mick fleetwood lucky bastard...

  • If you think this is great, and it is, see him live on a solo tour...OMG !

  • One of the best guitarist

  • yukkkkk good song ruined by an electro acoustic .......just put a good mic infront of a good guitar for fuck sake

  • @a280281 WRONG ... YOU'RE WRONG

  • I've been trying to learn this recently... It's interesting to note that, apparently, my right thumb doesn't callous, it blisters. Damn. I need some of your magic, Leslie. Hook me up?

  • Passion, heart, talent, kicking _ _ _ guitar playing, a voice made for such a wistful song. Straight from the soul. Lindsey, you rock! Your Gibson guitar is mighty fine.

  • One of the best "finger roll" players of all times for sure...

  • wooowy, what up with that, what up with that. snl

  • I'll never get bored of this absolutely top class song. Excellently performed by Lindsey just gracefully picking that guitar, What a solo performance! I've yet to get the same natural high from another live solo performance on YouTube yet! Suggestions welcomed folks & fellow musicians/music lovers? D.

  • SO awesome x x x x

  • cant read music ,he hears it and remembers it ,learned to play a 5 string banjo to start off ,no plec ,his finger tips are like steel, up there with the best ,revived a flagging fleetwood mac and was a major force behind the smash hit album rumours

  • Lindsay Buckingham must be one of the best guitar players ever. Just sings and plays with so much emotion

  • Wow !!!

  • How the hell can he play the bass, rhythm and lead parts on his own at the same time?

    Incredible!

  • @NIGELSPIKEY and sing!

  • Lindsay is AWESOME. The best guitar player in the world.

  • Lindsey buckingham is so fucking awsome!

  • just perfection

  • Wow.

  • How's your mind....blown?

  • I never noticed this before, but Lindsey sounds alot like Ian Asbury from the Cult.

Bitchin performance and song. Thank you for the upload!

  • epic rendition =D ....would take much more than an hour to get down perfectly T_T *braggers caughcaugh ;P

  • Excuse me for shouting but THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!

  • thanks for posting...i really enjoy Lindsay Buckingham as a Musician...with band or solo...i love Acoustic...that's a cool guitar...unique sound...good to see him still performing.

  • he has gone slow

  • I bow to the awesomeness that is Lindsey Buckingham.

  • ohhh s awesome

  • why that "like" button upside down?

  • Lindsey is a Guitar God!

  • this is what you call an 'acoustic version'! raw and fucking tasty!

  • Where is the dislike bar ??

  • I knew he was good, but jesus, he's attained God-like status for me after watching this S - )

  • @sbradford25 My cousin's a musician, music teacher and working on his master's in Music performance - he said after he saw Lindsay perform this he stopped thinking he knew anything about playing the guitar...

  • Saw him in Boston last night - extraordinary. Now I can die happy. And the man is SO hot!!!

  • @jenhasken HELL YEAH I AGREE !!!!!!!!!

  • This man is so perfect. I'm inlove with his guitar.

  • Goosebumps..right now!

  • Wow...your incredible Mr. B!

  • Tusk.

  • holy shit

  • In my next life .... may I come back as LB's guitar ROFLMAO

  • its amazing that this guy didnt know how to play guitar.....and i dont know if its true or not, but supposedly he never learned how to play guitar, he just made it up as he went....

  • The people who've made negative comments about the use of a capo quite simply haven't got a clue about guitar playing. Using a capo enables you to change the key of a song that you play and have the option of using chord inversions that have open strings in them that you otherwise wouldn't be able to play if you had to use bar chords. This gives you a greater tonal palette to choose from & more interesting chord inversions to use in any given key. None of this constitutes cheating in any way.

  • @britfloydshow

put up a video of your mastery please

this is serious skill to play and sing simultaneously. Do something better and we can submit to you - otherwise fuck off and pretend not to talk about something you know nothing about.

  • @oddball1973 I think you've completely got the wrong end of the stick here. I think Lyndsey Buckingham is a superb guitar player and this is a brilliant performance and you're quite right, it does take serious skill to perform in this way. What I was commenting on above was the negative things that some people had posted about his use of a capo, saying that it was somehow cheating and lazy to use one and that it showed he wasn't that good a guitarist. This to me is a ridiculous attitude to have.

  • @britfloydshow

sorry mate - the youtube comment system directed my reply to you and not the Bendix muppet. I've actually seen your show 4 or 5 times at the DeMonfort Hall and a fine player you and the rest of the band are.Again sory for the mixup

  • capo's do not enhance your ability. I don't know where you guys are getting this from. All it does is change the tuning on the guitar. As far as the playing goes, it is no different than playing in standard tuning. Besides, do you really think the audience would have wanted to set there and watch him tune the guitar to the key of this song. Pretty much all guitar players use one. It has nothing to do with the ability to play the instrument.

  • I'm a competent guitarist but I can't even pull off a decent fake of this song with this style, that right hand technique. It's just frigging beyond me. The way he keeps that a-string going the whole time while finger picking a solo, it's just sublime. Who the hell didn't like this? 35 people don't like music.

  • It's almost the same as using the "roll stand" in ten pin bowling, it greatly enhances your ability. Makes me cringe knowing that this guy receives credit for something his little helpful tool is doing for him.

  • @Bendrix27 it's called a capo, and yes, he can pull off some pretty good guitar work without it, watch some other fleetwood mac videos, like his solo at the end of "gypsy." you do realize that he's only using it to match the key of the song to his voice, right? and that if he wasn't singing and was playing it in the key two steps lower you wouldn't have any complaints?

  • I am not an oblivious fool, but, as a guitar player, I can honestly say, this isn't supremely difficult, still great stuff, but there is much better out there. The thing that gets to me is that he is CHEATING, that bar, I've forgotten the name of it, the bloody thing that holds down every string for you, that is LAZY, I wonder if he could pull this off without his little toy helping him out. You guys eat it up like he's a god, you are foolish, he's probably used that thing his whole life.

  • @Bendrix27 Dude, what the heck? There's nothing wrong with using a capo. It's like you're saying you'd rather climb up and over a mountain than go through the tunnel in it. It's not cheating.

  • @Bendrix27 "As a guitar player" yet you don't know what a Capo is or what it actually does?

  • Only started listening to fleetwood mac a couple of years ago, but this guy blows my mind. Genius.

  • This is my new favorite song ever. I only listen to fleetwood Mac because my dad is a huge fan and I love their pop stuff. But this song and this man is epic. New inspiration is always great. Love everything about this forever! His singing is mind blowing. SO MUCH EMOTION!

  • wtf, that is not even human

  • favorite guitarist , simply amazing

  • This song is so awesome, Gonna give it try. Seems easy enough.

    *5 seconds later*

    WHAT THA FAWWWKK!!!!!

  • @gredangeo Seems easy enough?? Wtf were u thinking?

  • @joeyh31 LOL! Thus the joke in the effortless he makes it. der. :D This is mindboggling hard. However the trick is to put your thumb on autopilot. The rest will take care of itself once you can do the endurance of the thumb's rythem riff 5 songs in a row. That's a good start. The rest seems not as bad, The constant eighth notes bass rythem fucks it up. :D

Underrated guitarist. Fuck Slash, i'd like to see him do this.

  • @gredangeo No way Slash could do this lol... Lindsey's the man.

  • @gredangeo This is a really really advanced song. He's using a hybrid paul mccartney meets john mayer method ( I know mayer came after, I'm just trying to maybe give you an idea of songs to practice to help that thumb move independently)

  • @joeyh31 You clearly know fuck all about guitar! This is extremely difficult.

  • this is really litteraly epic

  • learned this song on the guitar. omg that was a hard song!!!!!

  • Lindsey Buckingham is phenominal. One of the best ever.

  • Love this song!

  • Genius gets 780000 views. Today's monkey droppings? millions and millions.

  • by far, one of my favorites.... this guys a big inspiration to me.

  • If you don't know why this is amazing, or music in general, he is playing a bass line and a guitar lead and chords at the same time, rediculous.hes literally playing two instruments worth of music both at different tempos simultaneously, and singing as well, INSANE talent.

  • @xnightofragex Fair assessment man! Its fuckin "Top Drawer" finger pickin' @ It's pinnacle.....D from Dublin,Eire.

  • @xnightofragex YOU ARE SO RIGHT ON!!!! insanely talented!

  • most underrated guitarist ever

  • Hes good, but Mark Knopfler is way better :)

  • i saw fleetwood mac 2009 and was disgusted. the only thing that made it worth the money was seeing lindsey play this. he is amazing

  • Knew absolutely nothing about this guy until I saw a Fleetwood Mac documentry on tv, and am stunned by how good he plays this! With some of the studio production that goes on it's sometimes hard to hear how good some guitarists are!

  • who knew fleetwood mac fans were so angry?

  • ....love

  • Comment removed

  • He is sooooo underrated : ) Love him

  • What makes this so amazing is that it looks effortless.

  • @onlyMAIDinMETAL Effortless? It looks exhausting.

  • @onlyMAIDinMETAL Damn right! He makes it look so easy...

  • To dislikers, look at the dislike bar, look at your penis.

    No difference.

  • i cry every tine i see this........... a genious

  • now that is a fuckin song right there.

  • He is one of the few musicians who actually deserve to be paid for their music.

  • 33 people.......... can go fuck themselves

  • To any fans that are interested, Lindsey Buckingham has a new album coming out Sept. 6th, called Seeds We Sow. You can check out his new single, In Our Own Time, at ultimateclassicrock(dot)com/lindsey-buckingham-in-our-own-time/

Anyway, give it a listen! It's a great tune!! Peace!

  • quality

  • 33 guys lookin' for big ass

  • 33 dislikes? read as: 33 people who have never tried to play guitar, even if you don't like the song, to NOT appreciate the difficulty of creating this sound by himself without accompaniment is simply ignorant.

  • @cyberbmcd

I'm sure you don't remember even posting this in a month but I'm jealous of this guy. he does make it look easy but then he's been playing it forever.
