Now WHY is this nice guy in jail. He helps with the overpopulation of cats, he assists the law to rid our streets of bad people ,he protects women and children, he administers capital punishment without the use of drugs ,ropes, bullets and electricity ( by God he has gone GREEN). I was a correctional officer and I can tell you that the best part of the job was being on C.E.R.T. It was the most demanding part of the job. You can not believe how demanding the job is until you do it yourself. I am 5'6" 200 pounds and it was tough.
What a Jerk. After the second extraction they should have put him in the Hospital with some serious fractures, teeth bashed in and just add more time to the sentence. That's ridiculous.

"big, powerful, scary guy"? I knew Roy Slagle, and he was intense, yes, but not scary. Big? He isn't particularly tall or bulky, although he's definitely got a bunch of muscle on him (or did back then). Powerful? Anyone with that much muscle mass can be considered powerful, although the toughest guys I met behind bars were usually the little fellows, usually shorter than 6'. Roy's about my height - 5'9"-5'10", althought he might be an inch or so taller. What makes Roy tough is his mindset.

@DonnaVarnadoe roy is actually out, and has been out.. hes working a full time job working with iron or steel... not sure which one, but i saw a follow up last night, they interviewed his boss and he had nothing but positive things to say, said he needs more workers like him. Also that he'd never known roy was on lockup until recently, and that he would never ever guess it was the same man.
this guy went back to jail for alcohol not drug use. went druk to a parole meeting which is a complete violation. he is due out in october of this year

I think some of these inmates, like Slagel, just get real bored and want an adrenalin rush, so they force the prison to do cell extractions for the fun of it, in my opinion. I mean, if you cannot have contact with the other prisoners, you might as well f'...k with the correctional officers.
@ACelloFella Yes you are right. Many of these inmates spend most of there days without interacting with anyone. After a while you get desperate and will do anything just to have some interaction.

I had sent Roy a Priority Mail letter with some encouraging words to the address he lists on his MySpace page but it was sent back. They stated that he has been paroled so they could not deliver my letter to him. I thought he wasn't getting out until 2011? Well,if he is out then I'm happy for him & I hope he stays out. It's good that Roy has his brother to help him. I'm glad they have each other for moral support.

@Mmusica1 You have to remember though those guards aren't allowed to do certain things you can in the ufc rule set. You also gotta remember those ufc guys have been training day in and day out since a young age, and the guards, well, lol is all I can do at there training. Yes some of them may think they're bad ass, but I'm sorry, the 6 month training course at the academy is bugger all to someone whose been doing it for a lifetime in many different disciplines.
@Mmusica1 I would also like to point out that the extraction was less than a minute, and he burned up alot of energy in that minute. Could he keep it up for a minimum of 15 minutes? Not slagging on Slagle, just pointing out some realities.
Actually, if I'm not mistaken the extraction took longer than that. It took them a minute or so to get to Roy. Then about four minutes or so to get him down, mind you there were about eight or nine guards on him. I'd like to see if any wrestler could even last a minute let alone four with that many people on them.hehe! I did say he'd probably need some training. The fact is Roy is a very strong man,not to mention GORGEOUS!(^_* I hope he gets another MySpace or FaceBoook acct.
@Mmusica1 He'd get tooled on the ground, badly. He would have greater success in kickboxing as he has the perfect build for the stand-up aspect. Long lanky arms and legs are a perfect recipe for disaster in wrestling and jits, alot of surface area to get ahold of. Also, trust me on this, guards/police/military greatly over estimate their abilities. How do I know this? I've trained them at their various establishments over the years.
PPS. I can't help but notice the lady guard laughing in the background when FIVE guards are trying to take Roy down. With all due respect but what is so funny about this? They can barely take him & there's at least five full grown men in police armor. If you mess with a big strong man,it's only a matter of time until he messes back with you.(I'm sure there good people that work in these places but I'm willing to bet they are few & far in between - I know hell has a special place for the others!)

I completely agree with you. This might not be showing Roy at his best but we have no idea what his reasons might be. Who knows how he was treated when the cameras where not there. I imagine that you have to be very tough and mean to survive in there, especially with all the awful things that he may have gone through. I know Roy can have a good life out of jail. My neighbor has tried for over a year to get me to watch Roy on this show. He's Gorgeous and Impressive! (^_*)

Don't see this posted anywhere else, but the Colorado Inmate Locator was updated today to show that Roy is now a parolee, CONGRATULATIONS ROY! His sentance discharge date was also moved up slightly. BEST OF LUCK!
@ericpieper69 No he made parole for a second time in May of 2010 two weeks ago. As of now Roy remains out. I just double checked the Colorodo Inmate finder. These things are a matter of public record.
NOTE;for those who have never been.Ask yourself.if an inmate has nothing. Do you really think he wants what little peace he has taken away?there is reasons these acts of defiance happen.Its not something the inmate wants,but whereas he feels it is his only way to communicate.Think before you auotomatically assume this behavior is all on the inmate.

I had sent Roy a Priority Mail letter with some encouraging words to the address he lists on his MySpace page but it was sent back. They stated that he has been paroled so they could not deliver my letter to him. I thought he wasn't getting out until 2011? Well,if he is out then I'm happy for him & I hope he stays out. It's good that Roy has his brother to help him. I'm glad they have each other for moral support.

If Roy can take on so many, I'm sure he would do well in wrestling. Though I do believe some training would be needed. I hope Roy can stay out of trouble in his life now. @Mmusica1 You have to remember though those guards aren't allowed to do certain things you can in the ufc rule set. You also gotta remember those ufc guys have been training day in and day out since a young age, and the guards, well, lol is all I can do at there training. Yes some of them may think they're bad ass, but I'm sorry, the 6 month training course at the academy is bugger all to someone whose been doing it for a lifetime in many different disciplines.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken the extraction took longer than that. It took them a minute or so to get to Roy. Then about four minutes or so to get him down, mind you there were about eight or nine guards on him. I'd like to see if any wrestler could even last a minute let alone four with that many people on them.hehe! I did say he'd probably need some training. The fact is Roy is a very strong man,not to mention GORGEOUS!(^_* I hope he gets another MySpace or FaceBoook acct.

@Mmusica1 He'd get tooled on the ground, badly. He would have greater success in kickboxing as he has the perfect build for the stand-up aspect. Long lanky arms and legs are a perfect recipe for disaster in wrestling and jits, alot of surface area to get ahold of. Also, trust me on this, guards/police/military greatly over estimate their abilities. How do I know this? I've trained them at their various establishments over the years.

PPS. I can't help but notice the lady guard laughing in the background when FIVE guards are trying to take Roy down. With all due respect but what is so funny about this? They can barely take him & there's at least five full grown men in police armor. If you mess with a big strong man,it's only a matter of time until he messes back with you.(I'm sure there good people that work in these places but I'm willing to bet they are few & far in between - I know hell has a special place for the others!)

I completely agree with you. This might not be showing Roy at his best but we have no idea what his reasons might be. Who knows how he was treated when the cameras where not there. I imagine that you have to be very tough and mean to survive in there, especially with all the awful things that he may have gone through. I know Roy can have a good life out of jail. My neighbor has tried for over a year to get me to watch Roy on this show. He's Gorgeous and Impressive! (^_*)

Don't see this posted anywhere else, but the Colorado Inmate Locator was updated today to show that Roy is now a parolee, CONGRATULATIONS ROY! His sentance discharge date was also moved up slightly. BEST OF LUCK!
