I received the post, where is a minority? Since when does a "minority" have to be in a group? This group of young lads are wonderful, their music is wonderful.
This notion that the "white" groups have to include a "minority" is ridiculous. Years ago, my daughter, in high school, was in a singing group..but were not allowed to join in this contest because there were no "minorities" in the group...it was because no minorities joined. This is ridiculous! I resented it then as I do now.

It appears some people always have to inject race. This reminds me of years ago, when my daughter was in high school choir. The schools were invited to join a competition. My daughter's school choir was not allowed to enter BECAUSE there were no minorities in the choir. The reason was BECAUSE no minority joined the choir in the first place. SO, the other students suffered. I resented it then, I resent it now. THIS WILL STOP.

@QueenOfTheAubergines thier teacher is a former memebr of the same big church choir these boys are part of- the St. Phillips church choir includes former Libera boys and men too who sing normal church services. Many former Libera boys who no longer can sing treble mentor younger boys and work on the sound crew. the TV show "Songs of Praise" did an episode on Libera where they talk to mentors, the voice teachers, the boys, parents, and other people. its on youtube. watch it to learn more.
Oh, dear, what is your suggestion? Let's color their hair and put on make up that people with dark hair and skin like them? I am not blond either, but it has nothing to do with their singing, which is great! Just enjoy the music, even if they are little blond English boys....:)

The reason why science can determine race from dna is because genes make up a person's skin color, eye color, hair texture, and what not. @chasab1940 People being unconscious of race is just like people being unconscious of family ties, gender or social status. It is never going to happen.
Race is one of the things that defines a person biologically so it is stupid to ignore it. If you are talking about discrimination, that is a great evil that is not caused by people discriminating, but by putting people of different races together.
Enough for this discussion, I wish less people voted up your comment so that it would disappear.

We also separate other species in races, why would the human species be the same then?

The reason why science can determine race from dna is because genes make up a person's skin color, eye color, hair texture, and what not. However, RACE in itself - the concept of categorizing human beings based on their physical features - is a social concept. Science didn't dictate that black people be called black people and white people to be called white people. Society did that.

@x0xTHLover4Lifex0x The names are given by society, but the groups are divided by nature. It is not like skin color, hair texture etc. are a random set of features from which every human gets random things. The differences between races go a lot deeper and strictly divide humanity in 4 groups.
I believe that people of every race have the same value for God and should have the same rights, but to ignore the fact that races exist is impossible for me.

Charles Darwin and his teachings on evolution led to the idea of survival of the fittest, eugenics and ultimately Hitler. Odd isn't it? Christianity is supposedly so intolerant and racist, yet the Bible says that God made of one blood all nations of men. To God people are people; we might as well divide people in groups for their earlobe shape as by their skin color -- He sees no difference.

They live in England, it is a country made up of English. Is it necessary that every organization, group, activity must be sure to have a person of African ancestry in it to avoid being called a racist. To end racism you must start with yourself. Just see people, stop seeing race. Seeing others through your racism, projecting it on them.
