@FFWedge you mean "blame"/L'arc en Ciel?lol i think blame is somehow similar to black star, and guess many Japanese like both.off course all the world must like both
Take care... What's the similitude between Muse and Radiohead? Easy... They have the same producer, who's one of the most important piece in the puzzle of every band... We can see that with the Jane's Addiction's New Album "The Great Scape Artist". Music is the one... Don't matter how your band is called.
@originofsymmetry97 I listen to both i love Muse and Radiohead, they are very different but i see we're people are coming from. Beside Muse, Radiohead and Nirvana are smiliar but other then that there very much different
@tdrider2008 No. The evolution of the sound of a band is made by a long way; an album doesn't shine just of its own light, it's influenced by the story, this evolution; it not depends just on itself. Only revolutionary album can do that. So, evolution of Muse's sound depends on "Showbiz" too, I think. No "Showbiz" = no other Muse's works. Try prove otherwise. You can't, because it's not. Sorry for my bad english.
@bernie17x Myself, being a huge fan - found Ok Computer (as amazing as it is, like all the rest of their work) is overrated. With a band that's got like - perfect 10 albums all around, it's tough to say - but I believe I enjoy every album after Computer just a bit more.
@LaunchingIn54321 I don't sit around and judge them - they're all amazing, my comment is more directed to Radiohead "fans" that believe OK Computer is their best.
@BDizDaBest I always felt this album gets lost in the shuffle when radiohead albums come up because it is more rock sounding than it is their usual mellow sound. but it's a damn great album.
@biglaity yes muse have more talent i'm sorry , i love radiohead and i know i will get abuse for this but there is not muse song i skip on my ipod (i have all of them) but some of the radiohead head songs are "album fillers" . just because every muse song sounds "perfect" doesnt make them uncool.E.g matt is classically trained and used to write all of the parts and somehow they still have an amazing sound with one guitarist and radiohead need 3
@thealmightycommenter - In Canada, we have a brand called Presidents Choice - which basically sells products that are similar to other name brand products but cheaper and not such good quality. They only exist because they sell cheap products that are similar to better quality products. Without the good quality product, they would have nothing to sell - because they invest not time or money in coming up with their own original ideas. Muse are "Presidents Choice" - Radiohead are the original.
@thealmightycommenter - John Lennon couldnt read music either. I think we can all agree that a lack of theoretical knowledge has little detriment on musical talent. I am questioning Muse's musical talents but Im not saying they have no talent. They just completely ripped off Radiohead, as did alot of other bands. And it's one thing to take inspiration form a band but a completley different thing to mimic another vocalist / band and pass it off as your own.
@chadblackey as i have said just the chorus of this song sounds like muse and how could they rip them off ? the are two completely different styles . matt sounds nothing like tom and just cos muse are perfect as i have said before , doesnt make them uncool . just because deep inside you know some of the radiohead songs are horrible to listen to and no muse ones are and im not even a die hard fan of either but just because muse are more popular doesnt make them uncool!!!!!
@thealmightycommenter - Well there is a lot to disagree with regarding your statement, this may take a couple of posts. First - this song was written in 1994 and released on the second album in 1995, if anything Muse sound like the chorus not vice versa. Muse formed in 1994 and released their debut album in '99 - giving them ample time to perfect the art of ripping off Radioheads style. Do they sound alike now? @thealmightycommenter - Pt 2 - I'ld like to think that you aren't wasting time thinking about what I think of deep inside, BUT if you are, you should know that its the furthest thing from pondering the significance of Muse or their songs. Why? Because its been done before. Its been done better. It's been done by Radiohead.
@thealmightycommenter - Lastly, this has nothing to do with being cool. Or maybe it does. Im sure Muse are fuckin bad ass with the extreme sports crowd and are being cranked in the locker rooms of numerous sports teams all over the world to get them pumped up for kicking ass. Is Radiohead? Probably not. If that's what makes a band cool, than yes - you are so right, Muse is cooler than Radiohead, and being cooler is way more important than originality and talent.
@thealmightycommenter avant grade musicains are the only people who preform in a "band" and have extreme musical knowlage, they write symphonies, but with metal music, muse(as much as i love them) do not :P
@xxdomoxxkunxx urm no listen to exogenesis the whole way through and it is epic and extremely complicated and you can hear it how matt get's influences from other classical artists and uses the same instruments and the 4 form structure of a symphony
@thealmightycommenter that song isnt THAT impressive, its pretty good, but when i call someone a musical genuis i mean it, look up mirrorthrone, that "band" consists of only one person, yet it sounds beautiful in all respects, many of his songs could be called a symphony or sonata, sorry i listen to classical music alot, making one symphony doesnt make you a genuis, good? yes, genuis? no, being able to play it in on all insturments and making masterpeice after masterpeice makes you one
@pjcthatisme I can understand why, but it's a very stupid one. Muse's first album Showbiz was heavily influenced by The Bends, and they even had the same producer on the album (John Leckie). Since then, there are no similarities at all apart from the vocal range. Muse have taken on this OTT, alternative style with some of the heaviest rock riffs around, whereas Radiohead have kept it cool and niche and picked up from OK Computer with the electronic stuff. There really is no need to hate either.
Back before Jonny Greenwood, a phenomenal guitarist, was reduced to a flunky. I miss when Radiohead was a four-piece rock band, because they were a great one.
@flipdry There was a time when Muse was great...that time was called 1999 - 2003. There was an eon when Radiohead was great...it was called 0 B.C. to Infinity.

Radiohead used the word ''Black'' instead of ''Dead'' which mean the same thing. But they aren't fooling me. The line ''blame it on the satellite that beams me home'' is also lifting lyrical bits from Muse's Dead Star and Exo-Politics. ''Crashing down to Earth'' from Dead Star and ''Fully loaded satellites'' from Exo-Politics is proof of this.
@jibblychupos Uh dude ... If anything it's the other way around. I happen to be huge fans of both Radiohead and Muse and this douche doesn't know what he's talking about. I have every song ever made by both bands so I know the years in which these songs are made. For instance Radiohead's "Black Star" is from their 2nd (studio) album "The Bends" which was made in 1995, before Muse's "Hullabaloo" (2002) and "Black Holes & Revelations" (2006). So instead of talking shit.. Get your facts straight!
@jibblychupos seriously loads of songs have the same or similar names without being rip offs. i mean, radioheads song just - there has to be loads of songs out there called 'just'...
To me it tells a story. It starts with a relationship that's getting tiring, He obviously loves her to death & knows her so well , and it's hard for him to get over the fact that he can't help her. They break up.
He realizes he doesn't think about her as much anymore, and that he's better...
i think its about a man who loves someone who had tramatic encounter and does not tell him...over time they break up but he feels lost(nearing the end mostly) about the turn of events and how they are not togather anymore...well im just reading the lyrics and thats my take on it dont sue me
this song is basically about two people who in spite of several troubles between them... can´t live without each other... one of my favourites from radiohead
I wish Radiohead did write a mid-'90s British rock song like this again some day...But they havent in more than 10 years and we're not in the 90's anymore :)
But i love both the pre-OK Computer and the newer Radiohead.
@clarky241 "fades in at the beginning, as if it's been playing your whole life." I want to say "brilliant," but that remark's become a cliche, so... I'll tell the truth and say "grr... I wish I were cool enough to have said that first! Clever you."
I last listened to this when I was going through a divorce.......It's been a long while since I could feel good about listening to it again but I have just now - what a top tune, I've missed this album a lot.
i thank my friens for getting me to .ove radiohead and for telling me to sing this for the talent show at my school but i just did not have guts to adition and i am regreting big time..
I really don't see any resemblance between radiohead and keane. This particular album sounds rather muse-esque, since I believe they influenced muse heavily.
This album has a brit pop sound to it, which cannot be said for any of their following albums
I love the way it uses a B minor and a D, the D being used in the intro, to emphasise happiness, but then it goes into an A minor to start the chorus to maybe show he can't get to happiness
The Bends is by far their best " traditional" rock album, ... before they broke the mold. Holy is right, OK Computer was a musical breakthrough, and probably is STILL ahead of it's time
I've never heard a bad Radiohead album, they're all completely different. In Ranbows, OK computer, The Bends, etc. Each of them are fantastic. Comparing them, that's a hard decision.

I wish Radiohead did write a mid-'90s British rock song like this again some day...But they havent in more than 10 years and we're not in the 90's anymore :)
But i love both the pre-OK Computer and the newer Radiohead.

utter brilliance. oddly, i feel as though this song is the EXACT sound of the 90's.

the guitar is so good in this one. this song is alternative rock but obviously with the 'head it is so much more than that.

I've always found it strange how the song kind of fades in at the beginning, as if it's been playing your whole life...

@clarky241 "fades in at the beginning, as if it's been playing your whole life." I want to say "brilliant," but that remark's become a cliche, so... I'll tell the truth and say "grr... I wish I were cool enough to have said that first! Clever you."

... I get on the train and I just stand about now that I don't think of you
I keep falling over I keep crushing out
When I see a face like you
What am I coming to?
I just don't know anymore
I Blame it on the black star
I Blame it on the falling sky
I Blame it on the satellite that beams me home
Tonight, this is killing me
Tonight, this is killing me ...

I last listened to this when I was going through a divorce.......It's been a long while since I could feel good about listening to it again but I have just now - what a top tune, I've missed this album a lot.

Holy is right, OK Computer was a musical breakthrough, and probably is STILL ahead of it's time

lol, how bout we stop arguing over albums?
I've never heard a bad Radiohead album, they're all completely different. In Ranbows, OK computer, The Bends, etc. Each of them are fantastic. Comparing them, that's a hard decision.
Almost pointless?

ok computer was a musical break through. simple as that

The Bends = musical perfection.

lol radiohead has been much better ever since
don't get me wrong, the bends is great, but ok computer and everything after is better.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
ok computer is a dumbed down version of the bends
dont get me wrong ok computer is amazing
but the bends is so raw and it captures that moment of perfection that they had
