@outOFthePITT The Choke Chain is a training device (not really meant as a permant collar, as if the dog has it on while unsupervised it can get caught and strangle the dog), that's meant to provide consequence for bad behavior. When pulled taught, it tightens around the throat, when slacked (if it's on properly) it will release pressure on the throat. The chain is meant to be used in firm pops that scold for bad behavior. In the right hands, it's a wonderful device that produces amazing dogs.

I had the pleasure of meeting a doberman for the first time a couple years ago...even though I've always lived with dogs (usually bigger breeds) I'll admit I was at first intimidated by the size of the pup...being a dog lover I got to know him and he was definitely one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met!
