I agree on the sanyo being the better model. If one understands your Professional is is a home theater unit while all thre models are

  • awesome review. I love the cat below the table

  • Great review, thank you so much for posting it! :) I've been reading about these cameras lately, and I'm stuck because some Xactis can use conversion lenses but the sample videos don't play on my PC, and the SVPs use an open codec so the videos play fine but the quality is so-so, and no SVP or Aiptek cameras can use conversion lenses yet.

I have to save up to get one anyway though, so hopefully I'll know of one by then that can use lenses and makes video files that work on my PC. :)

  • Hello I have a SVP HDDV1800 camera but I'm having problems to download videos from my pc to the camera and play them back in the camera, it does not recognized the video format, I can only play them back using the a computer, but for example if I download a video from youtube and than converted to mpeg 4 and than copy the file to the DCIM Folder when I tried to play it back with the camera it does not recognized the file. Can you help me Please.

  • nice review Jim but I'd rather see your eyes than your knees. safoocat

  • Thank you for your review, I was thinking of a mini dvr. Was looking at a SVP......I think I'm going to look around a little more

  • i got my aiptek MPVR camera of 75 dollars at target and i love it.

  • Copy & paste into google:

    Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6

Found a walmart link down the page. The walmart site says it's in their stores only, not sold on the website.

  • I'm so glad to hear someone address one of my biggest gripes with people who buy these cameras and then expect them to perform like cameras using a totally different technology. I have two Aipteks for taking just about everywhere and a MiniDV for when I want proper video quality.

  • this review was very helpful. thanks for posting. i bought the aiptek for $119.99 at Target

  • hi jim, could you post svp-sample vids? thx

  • HI, Would I better off getting a digital camera and use the movie mode ?

  • no usually the movie modes suck and are very low res and blocky. just my opinion though

  • ive got a svp xthin590 are they good?

  • good review! ive seen you post on steves digicam forum and you seem to know your hybrids.

  • this is very useful for me, a prospective buyer, thanks a lot for making this
