not to be rude but literly i think that only certain kids take care of their dolls see i can when i was four so maybe give the litlle girl a trest if she can take care of a cheap doll that looks pretty and see after one year where it is and little kids they like stuff at first but when something new comes in they would leave the doll behind and want care for it anymore so yah she was young and i pray that doll would survive

I have to say, that smile on that little girl's face holding the doll brings back memories. i recently dug out my old 3 dolls and brushed their hair and changed their outfits to show theyre still loved. i love american girl dolls and they should not have retired those historical characters..

awww this brings back memories of my childhood.. American Girl place opened in Chicago right before I grew out of dolls... i went with my parents and loved it!! I remember I bought Lindsey (limited edition doll) there.. and brought my favorites... Molly, Kit, and Samantha (all quite old and well loved). I still love all my American Girl dolls.. I kept them and all their accessories/clothes for my little girl someday to share the magic!

she is so cute!!! congrats on Julie!! and the boxes aren't really that expensive, it is the doll that is. The boxes need to be kept nice if you plan on reselling the doll, but I dont think she does so its ok. Who cares if she is 8+ as long as she takes care of Julie and loves her!

actully the boxs and tags are worth more than the doll because if you sell them thats the value like for example i got kit on ebay and they did not give me the lid of the box so i got her half price!!

no they arent actually. they are worth a little but not more than the doll. If you find a good condition doll without the box you can still get good money for her. also, this little girl doesnt have plans on reselling her doll anytime in the near future. she might not sell it ever so it doesnt matter what she does with the box

Just so ya know that next doll she gets uou or she can open it if you think she's capable of not ripping it. Cuz you can acccidentally damage something inside of it as you rip it.
