  • Man,I love this movie...but I prefer Casino.

  • Tony Sirico in his younger haydays. Man, u see a lot of Sopranos characters appearing in this film in smaller parts.

  • paulie - to have that type of power, respect or to instill fear in everyone that all he has to do is show his face and the party stops!

  • what is this caption about Scorcese lavishing attention on these men?? it's a movie. an amazing movie based on a great book at based on Henry Hill.

  • It's your fault! ahhahaha

  • 'Paulie might have moved slow...but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anyone.' lol i love that line.

  • paulie is THE man....if you even looked at him the wrong way, you were dead

  • I wish I was bad ass enough to not have to move for anyone.

  • i like how these guys still wear clip on suspenders

  • This scene is set in 1955, which is where Godfather I ends. Both of these movies are set in New York but their depictions of the time and place are just so different.

  • Interesting point- The view that Godfather takes is that by 1955, the whole "mob thing" is "over", by that time Vito is gone and Michael Corleone is in Tahoe (and Cuba) trying to make millions. He actually has a great disdain for the old mob (thus his poor treatment of Frank Pentangeli, who is nearly killed and then tries to go informant on Mike. Only when his brother is threatened with death does Frankie Five-Angels "dive" for the mob, no testimony). The "Godfather" saw the money in Vegas.

  • Well yeah, also, you can't picture characters from Goodfellas and The Godfather Trilogy ever interacting, despite both being set mostly within the same timeframe and both being about the Mafia.

  • Good point- Way different perspectives.

  • plus I think the mob that Goodfellas is set in is mostly the "lower-ranked" ones who did the whackings and stuff while Godfather depicted mostly the Don(s).

    Correct me if I'm wrong..

  • that's true! Paul is actually based on true mafia capo Paul Vario. Who had his crew (soldiers) in that part of brooklyn. The Godfather (a fictive story) shows the leading fraction of a family.

Plus remember in the mid-50s the suits changed from black/grey to more colored shirts and suits.

  • yeah, this is tony sirico

  • @al3telier Tony Cicero yes ;)

  • 0:50 isn't that the guy who was Paulie in The Sopranos?

  • yes it is.. ive counted at least 7 of the actors from goodfellas also played in sopranos

  • it was there that I knew that I belonged

  • lol did you add the text? it's pretty damn funny

  • hi mreldude,

yes, glad you liked it! :)

  • Dude read the book which this movie is based on. It's called "Wiseguy" and from what I've read its pretty good.
