  • One of the greatest moments in human history.

  • fake

  • wut ev who cares

  • Idk if they were on the moon this time but I am sure they have gotten to there by now and I really dont see the big deal about this

  • P.S. 250,000 miles isn't that far, guys, in scientific terms. It seems silly to insist it was impossible, if one has any idea of proportion.

  • @DarrylXE Yeah. you could make it there in 4 days if traveling at 2604.16 MPH. :) or using the real number of closer to 252,000miles; 5 days at 2100MPH. (and just for fun, 1 year (365days) at 28mph)

  • lol i bet they had a fight on who got to go on the moon first!!!!

  • usa rocks

  • Kubrick was proud

  • Take it easy, baby...

  • One small step...

  • I hope it isn't fake. This is a great American goal that was reached. It it was, I'd probaly not even believe in the fact that we were once so great.T.I.S.S

  • Tell me... How the hell did USA/NASA, their biggest enemy, Russia to shut up about the worlds biggest conspiracies in the middle of the Cold War????

  • actually he didn't forget to say the "a". I believe he did say it and there was just a radio transmission cut out for a split second there. Also, i'm pretty sure that he thought of that on his own and it wasn't scripted.

  • I agree with the "Moon Landing As Hoax" crowd. We never crossed the Atlantic Ocean, either. It's all an illusion done with mirrors, sock puppets and sculptures made of goat dung.

  • Maybe that's what you saw. On July 20, 1969 the whole world saw two brave astronauts walk on the moon. It was the greatest accomplishment of our lifetimes. Please don't try to deny us that.

  • I was being sarcastic. Of course those guys landed on the moon. Have you ever spoken seriously to one of the "moon landing=hoax" people? Their "conspiracy" arguments are usually so simple-minded as to be embarrassing. I blame high school science teachers in this country for just teaching science and not scientific THOUGHT. Going to the moon is dangerous and expensive (and probably not worth it), but not impossible, from an engineering standpoint. And it certainly wasn't impossible in 1969.

  • ^FTW

Seriously. I know many people who don't think we've landed on the Moon. And none of them give me any good reason.

    *sigh*

  • Hello NASA.

  • cerebrajourney you should be ashamned with your self 40,000 people worked ward put there life into there work and put those brave souls on the moon thatput there lives on line foe America and the world. Have you ever done something so bold?

  • Not to mention those that died before and later (by burning up, I may add--I don't think anyone would CHOOSE to die that way) in those famous disastrous missions...it makes me so MAD that people like to flippantly call it all a hoax when those astronauts all risked (and some did die) dying in blazing inferno and leaving nothing but ashes behind for their friends and family. It's a shame how disgraceful and disrespectful society has become.

  • Yeah well if you do some fucking research and uses your brain you'll find stronger evidence that kills every single hoaxargument!

  • darkrocker, there is more, and stronger evidence that shows it was true. Hoaxers have this wierd hard limit where they are ok with the Saturn V launching then only believe the lunar modules orbited, for some reason. They think the Van Allen belts will kill a man as soon as you enter them, like lava or something. They really don't understand radiation exposure or the advantages of even light shielding.

  • I never brought up anything about the Van Allen belt, and I know better than to think they would "incinerate instantly". But I am surprised that most, if not all the astronauts that walked on the lunar surface did not receive some form of radiation sickness. I find it unlikely that the space suits used on the Apollo missions were able to block more than 70% of the radiation.

  • The evidence for a hoax is not strong at all when compared to the evidence that it was truth. Hoax proponents are consistently shown to be uncredited, when compared to a great and overwhelming swathe of geologists, physicists, doctors, engineers, national governments. Even the greatest enemies of the US never doubted this achievement. Examine the hoax theory in depth and it begins to look very flimsy.

  • "Dino1828", you would really be surprised if... you knew who I am.

Doing and creating "bold"... is something most humans will never experience. For me, "bold" is a big part of my life.

  • maybe since he is holding the ladder he pulled imself up. and since the gravity on the moon is so low, it wouldnt take much to lift you up since a 160 lb person weighs only roughly 26 pounds on the moon. granted, with the gear, he would weigh more, but not enough to take much effort to lift himself

  • Guys, what's the big deal?

If the US government went to the Moon... they went to the Moon. If the government didn't go to the Moon, well... they didn't go.

I'm cool with the truth either way, but... it appears the only human thing that has touched the crater-filled lunar surface is... man's dreams.

Maybe in 100 years a human foot will press against the chalk-like surface... NOT!

... And they're planning for Mars... gimme a break!

  • Why? Why don't you believe they've been there? Because of all the 'evidence' that it's a hoax? Damnit! That's just bullshit that's been proved against over and over and over again...

  • The reasoning of a fuckwit.

  • Did I strike a chord, "TheJomogogo"? I see why you disagree so strongly. Watching sci-fi shows has filled your mind with space fantasies.

  • If they did it then, why haven't they done it since?

  • they have. Check your facts.

  • you want to pay billions of dollar of taxes for it?

  • they have. where have you been?

  • This is incredible.. I can't believe people actually think that we DIDN'T go to the moon. Do you realize how much they'd have to cover up if they didn't? I myself, would love to be an astronaut.. This is incredible.

  • Fun fact:

Armstrong's words were actually a blunder. NASA told him to say "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

He forgot to say the "a."

  • Actually you are wrong. Amrstrong does say the word "a". It is a hickup in the transmition and delay that covers up the word.

  • You been living under a rock and some how got internet They went to the moon They have pictures of it Racisest

  • Fuck you.

  • maybe we should send people like you to the moon and leaving u there!

The only people who are usually racist are old people or dumbass rednecks. Which one are you?

  • Never mind the stars as seen from the moon's surface. Let's see the beautiful photographs of the heavens taken during the half-million-mile-round-trip! These photos possess awe-inspiring clarity of the stars! Has anyone seen them?

  • If I was on the moon I'd go in insane. It's too silent.

  • Yeah, but it would be kind of zen, wouldn't it? Space meditation... ohmm.

  • Thats Awesome.. But wat if they had colored cameras on the moon and now why dont they send anyone to the moon?

  • all the other missions apollos 12-17 had color tv. Also the reason we still aren't exploring the moon is because of money. congress withheld nasa's funding for moon landings after apollo 17

  • the moon is grey, so It won't be a lot different. But yea, much more quality, i think it's too expensive right now

  • If I've heard correctly, we plan to send more astronauts to the moon in 2011. I think. It may have just been a rumor though.

  • I think it'd be neat if they did it in 2019 to mark 50 years ;)

  • because sending people to the moon is extremely expensive

  • Armstrong wasn't an actor. If he was, he would have said something like "Sponsored by Disney" at the end.

  • i bet the moon's economy is better than ours

  • I am almost certain the moons economy is better than ours lol.

  • The moon prolly has Single Payer Universal Healthcare too.

  • yep and thats why there is no life there. they had to wait light years for mediocre or worse healthcare. but at least it was free right?

  • PackNic No , nobody to pay taxes on the moon. Nobody said Single Payer is a free lunch, just pro-patient instead of for profits.

  • sorry bud... its not pro patient. Its pro-bureaucracy. Instead of heath corporations getting your money (which is agreeably unfortunate) .. politicians get your money and more power over you. But sign over your life... see if i care. Just dont whine when your kid bust open his chin and bleeds for 18 hours while you wait to be seen by a second rate doctor who didnt flee to Bahrain or the like to get paid appropriately.

  • PackNic ummm, insurance is pro-bureaucracy FOR PROFITS. Single Payer would be STREAMLINED for patients. Single Payer ELIMINATES INSURANCE CORPORATIONS bureaucracies & profits, not private doctors and private hospitals

  • PackNic Send health insurance companies to the moon... problem solved
