This is a beautiful song and I am a Christian. His words will not offend God or Jesus but it brings Jesus into focus. It speaks to Jesus in the most honest expression i have heard in a long time
this song is like a tailor-made prayer of my fears. it's simple and raw but its very close to what we all feel, i think. it's nice to know that we all aren't alone in feeling this way. i guess that's why this song elicits such a need to rape the repeat button....
I dont claim to know his motives for using "god damn" in his lyrics but I actually think its kinda fitting. You have to think outside of the box and look past the whole "lords name and vain", try and see the motive behind the phrase..GOD and DAMNATION, put those two words together and what do you get?? How many christians have we heard running around damning ppl in the name of god without even realizing it. And hurting ppl in the process especially when discusing the end times.
I really like this guys voice and he has amazing song writing ability but his random "fuck" and "god damn" and other random cursing in these otherwise beautiful songs are so out of place. Such a shame because this guy is so talented and has a beautiful voice.
we give language, and more specifically "curse words", a lot of power and he fully utilizes the emphasis they can carry to make a point. Every time you hear him say Fuck or something it shocks you into paying more attention these songs wouldn't be the same and are therefore better with the cursing.
this song reminds me so muchh of my crush...last time we hung out together we listend to this song while waching the sunset holding hands<3...and i miss hjim so much...that this is all i listin to to keep a smile on my face........
@Tabitha2541 Think of the irony of using GD though. It's to make a point. And I think a very important one at that. He didn't choose it to be vulgar, but to be cutting.
I met Noah Gundersen. And hugged him. And called him beautiful. To which he replied "you're beautiful too", with a smile. He played this, and many other songs, live in my small town. I love him so much. I cried to his music. And when I told him his songs made me cry, he said "I'm glad my music has touched your heart." I touched his long dreads. It was the best night of my life. <3
i heard the first line and immediatley was like "I NEED TO DANCE TO THIS!" maybe not even formally choreograph anything, but i need to dance to it... and sing it... and everything. i love it.
Sorry for all the people that were offended by the last comment i posted. my YouTube account was hacked and I'am terribly sorry for any harm or offence that my last comment caused.
If you do consider yourself a Christian, I just want to say as a Christ follower that I don't appreciate the way you responded to this video or the comments on this video. This comment is disrespectful and childish.
This song has a great deal of honesty--honesty most Christ followers can't attain because they are fearful of the judgment from others. If he isn't a Christian, he's closer to the cross of redemption than most are, because he can be honest about his fears.
This song is so beautiful...and disparaging. It almost makes me cry. It's everything I would write in a song...if I wasn't afraid of people hearing it. This is what God wants from us I think.

@Brandynrulezd00d There are always people like that over the internet my friend, it's just finding the right ones is all.., seeing as 90% of the people on the internet are assholes.
@MrAiden775 Yeah. That's true. A lot of them magically grow courage to do and say things over the Internet that they would never even think of saying in person. I wish the Internet was a nicer place, honestly.
@rootvalue Some people have issues in their life, don't tell him to seek help if he's already found someone to help him deal with his issues. Even if it's a little bit of hope. We are entitled to our own thoughts and opinions, even on our own lives. People lack a personal relationship with God.. That doesn't mean it's not good. It gives them hope & belief.

@Tabitha2541
this man is a poet
you don't get to condemn his choice of words because they offend your religious sensibilities
the bible may say not to take the lords name in vain but it also says an incredible amount of other hateful, violent and absurd commands
so it looks like someone (you) needs a bible and a better choice of "commandments" to follow

God's reply is, as it was to Job, "Where were you when I created the mountains?" "Who are you, whom I created, to question the Creator?"
Americans, see our lot in life as being a difficult one. The majority
of our fellow earthlings, surely must have little sympathy for our "problems"
in light of the embarrassment of riches we all enjoy, such as clean
water, food, shelter, clothing, telephones, television, Internet, and even
our very own automobile.
MJLJIII 4 months ago
It is the perennial question of the Biblically uneducated pagan seeking
to understand the mystery of his own existence within the context of a
world seen as being a construct of a god that is clearly incompatible with
the "just, kind, loving, righteous" God of the Bible (with no regard for the
other characteristics of that multi-faceted God, such as His holiness).
