Watching this version was actually difficult to watch. It's so much sadder than just listening, and the things they changed just made it more so. This version is so brilliantly put together... Much like anything Pink Floyd has ever done.

David Geffen was sheer genius in this film. If not for him and his great direction, no one would ever have a clue what these lyrics were about. And still, this 'ficitional' story is based on each one of the "Floyd" members childhoods and is more a collage of societal dysfunction.

@MisterChef51 it aint weird at all. the movie tends to represent and understand all ages ( teenage angst, mid-life crises ) and dysfunctional society. it was, it is and probably will be a topic that every human can relate.
