Erm... I really enjoyed the video but I have to point out that this part of the Bible refers to ritual homosexuality which was part of (especially Greek) pagan practice. I for one think sex with someone you don't love is a little degrading, so I guess I don't mind these verses so much. It's not God turning people gay, more about worship of pagan Gods. There's no condemnation of homosexuality in the Greek New Testament which stands any scrutiny. Can't speak for the O.T. don't know it well enough.

a lot of gay people either don't care (just like the majority of americans). i've met plenty of religious gay people, which i just find utterly pathetic, but it's true. it's sad that they try to claim that god still loves them even though they're gay. they should just accept that he doesn't exist.

From the context Paul is describing a situation where those involved have declined so far morally and even to the point of replacing true worship with false idols that God "gave them over" to what they wanted. He didn't "make them gay," but simply let them do what they wanted, which is how it always goes. (freewill) This is how sin works, it is a perversion so once you are deep enough there is almost no stopping it.

Consider this passage & the Sod/Gom story. Were the people sinning because they were gay, or was it pure unrestrained sexual excess that was the problem? Is the problem allowing lust to make you turn against your base nature to satisfy that lust, or is it 'turning gay' that is the problem?
If you are straight, yet out of lust, engage in gay sex simply because you can't get enough any other way, then the sexual excess is the sin, and not the specific act.
gay->gay=OK, Straight->gay not OK.

Erm... I really enjoyed the video but I have to point out that this part of the Bible refers to ritual homosexuality which was part of (especially Greek) pagan practice. I for one think sex with someone you don't love is a little degrading, so I guess I don't mind these verses so much. It's not God turning people gay, more about worship of pagan Gods. There's no condemnation of homosexuality in the Greek New Testament which stands any scrutiny. Can't speak for the O.T. don't know it well enough.

The way I understand it, it means that God (or, to put it less "supernaturally": following the correct religion) is what keeps one moral (from Paul's viewpoint)... and by escaping this controlling influence, especially toward a more carnal/sensual/earthy religion, one becomes free to violate certain former taboos. So it's not all that bizarre, at least if you assume that Paul saw same-sex intimacy as transgressive, not simply a counterpart to heterosexuality
