@saphinik Well, now I don't even know what to say I honestly don't even know what you were saying. Please when you try to form an argument make clear and concise points so as to form said argument. Also how am I the ignorant one in this equation? You are the one using improper grammar and your whole argument is built around threatening a person you don't even know, not even actual facts. All I need to show I'm correct in this argument is a globe. Also, which country do you think I'm from?
@ThatOneKidThatSkis Simply because you're insulting my country, you can't spell for shit. Go and look up grammar and punctuation if you want to act like you're smarter than someone else, when you can't even get it right yourself.
@Inuzuka74 Ya, I didn't spell a single word wrong, so cool, you almost got me, except not really. Really the only thing you could call me on is not capitalizing a few words, so you should also try not to be such an elitist.
@Inuzuka74 As all of your replies have already shown? Feel free to show proof of my simple mindedness, so far you have shown you are more so than me (unless you don't know what simple minded means.)
@ThatOneKidThatSkis The fact you insist on arguing with people over the internet. It's pathetic. You should go outside and stop insulting someone because they're English, or American. It doesn't matter.

I'm simply pointing out that you are wrong and there for just some uneducated prick. Also I'm sure youre super tough and curbstomp people all the time (sarcasm) you must be one of those hard english gangsters right?
I would not be surprised if you got a few whites off the coast of scotland. lots of seals around there. Dont think you would find them in Kernow because there is not enough food. But it is likely that they drift up in the gulf stream.
its obviously a basking shark!jeez|!how stupid are some of the people putting comments on here!plus there has never been a positive sighting of a great white in british waters, theres no videos or pictures which show correct sightings.if there is,show me.
That's a basking shark, a harmless plankton eater; they patrol the Cornish shores during the summer for several weels each year; sorry to disappoint you lot :0D
never said it was a great white, most cornish people would know this was a basker. Its only visitors that see a shark and assume great white.... lol. no lies here mate
@queeniejo most people who live on coastline that recieves basking shark visitors would know it's not a great white. You can get them all over UK's coastline.
If you listen the boat is taken out of gear and the shark was in no danger what-so-ever. The guy who filmed this is very respectful of ALL marine wildlife.
@queeniejo Did you see the shark suddenly bolt away from you? Too close. You aproached too fast and nearly ran it over. You should see which direction it is heading and go there, then wait for it to come to you!
you shouldnt be that close to basking shark to wanka,, give it the respect it deserves, especially with a prop engine..toss pot.. you should be 20 - 30 feet from it, then swim up close...
@ardentinny ok then so fathers off fishing for the day and comes close to a basker whilst towing gear, he conviniently brought scuba gear so he can stop earning money from fishing and go and swim with a shark? also who cares if its a prop engine? a shark could easily thrash his tail once and would be out of the way ...
the snout is to rounded and the uk doesnt get great whites its too cold. it debatable in year to come they may migrate to our waters migrating with their food source. as for now unfortunately jaws wont be making an appearance
Thats wrong. White sharks can tolerate a wide range of temperatures form sub Arctic such as Alaska and Canada to tropical such as Hawaii and Mauritius, these are all places where they have been found. Most commonly they are found in cold to temperate waters ranging from 10c -18c in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, no different to Souther England. Also nearest confirmed white shark to UK was 200 miles south in Biscay France, and they can travel 1000s miles.
Absolutely right. Abalone ( what we call Paua ) divers in the Chatham Islands ( 43°53′S 176°31′W ) here in New Zealand, have been attacked by 5 meter long great whites.
Truro in Cornwall is 45° 22' N 63° 16' W so they are at relative latitudes. I think though, your water is warmer. We get currents from the ice, you get yours from the gulf stream.
A record White was brought into New Brunswick, Canada in the 1930 at Herring Weir but was caught closer to Frederickton which also has a relative latitude to both the Chatham Islands and Cornwall.
I don't think that a White off the northern coast is that much of a stretch. Sadly, we have to wade through the gob shites selling tropical holiday films to the News of the World and the Sun to find genuine accounts, that are, sadly, debased by the existence of the aforementioned gob shites.
@mamoderawat , southern england has warmer waters due to the gulf stream, if anywhere their more likely to appear up north, even if they did we dont have an ecosystem capable of sustaining them to any major extent. few seals here n there but nothing substantial. if they visit they wont b staying long.
end of lol err no because basking sharks are massive fuckers and have curved dorsals this one does not it has a pointed dorsal which clearly says its not a basking shark
Yeah i have actually walked along the coast line. when i went on a camp. i think its near mevagissy or what not, but that aint no basking shark, its either a great white or a make and if so where all fucked!
yeah basking sharks are bigger!!!! what they start off at max size? is it possible it can grow? its young and is displaying its natural behaviour of collecting phytoplankton near the surface. OR if you want to believe its a great white, fine
once my brother was in the water, hes 5 btw, and he picked up a fish and shouted 'look a fish' and it snapped for him, it was a little shark and now he wont go that far out into water
looks to me like a basking shark as its behaviour was not of a great white which would not swim around on the surface however the basking shark is known for this sort of behaviour
Top man, thanks for noticing. This situation does happen a lot between August to November. I would never ever harm or scare one of these magnificent creatures.I love and admire buryanboys "absking sharks" and would never stress them or interfere with them in any way, cheers dude. x
This video was taken by a Cornish born and bred fisherman. He took this video while towing fishing gear that restricts his ability to alter course, the boat was taken out of gear and shark was in NO harm whatsoever,it happens a lot. OK?
By the way,I am mousef16,I actually made this video of your absking shark. . . I was born in Cornwall, live in Cornwall and I HAVE MADE MY LIVING FISHING IN CORNWALL. ok,tractor boy?
it mAy be named a basking shark cause it likes to bask in the sun lol I have no idea, oh and that means to soak up some rays like suntanning lol it's what aligators and other animals like to do to keep warm. Also why you should have a light in an aquarium or whatever if you have a pet lizard etc etc
blatently a basking shark juvenile, note how it swims, it's dorsal fin and the fact that finding a great white in cornwall is very very rare. Could perhaps be a make or porbeagle as people always get these mixed up with great whites.
I'm not sure if it is a small basking shark or a huge great white. It looks like Californian waters so it could be either. You could see a blunt nose but you can also see a white underbelly (basking sharks don't have white underbellies). But I think I'm going with the basking shark.

if that didn't make any sense im sorry but i find it really hard sometimes to put in words my opinions...
Some people seem to forget that a lot of the British coastline especially Cornwall is home to Basking Sharks, one of the largest sharks in the world! Basking Sharks are harmless and do not eat meat.
There are loads of sharks off Cornwall - Blue sharks mainly - when I was down in Porthcurno several years ago, two basking sharks were about 10 feet from the shore, they were massive but totally harmless and loads of people including me were in the water with them - mind you Jaws hadn't made in those days but if it had you wouldn't have seen my arse for dust!
its not totally impossible to see a great white off the cornish coast..after all..the sea temperatures are perfect for great whites and the habitats surrounding cornwall fit pefectly the sharks needs..
I watched a program that said there is no reason why great whites wouldnt be in our waters especially if its a hotyear but yeah alot of what you hear is tourists shouting shark and thinking its a great white when its usually a basking shark
Basking sharks eat zooplankton which are tiny animals which consist of mainy crustaceans (which can consit of animals such as copeopods and crab larvae) and larvae of fish. and it was no dolphin it was a basking shark
Just kill it and be done

its not totally impossible to see a great white off the cornish coast..after all..the sea temperatures are perfect for great whites and the habitats surrounding cornwall fit pefectly the sharks needs..
