  • The 6 D-Bags that gave this Vid a Thumbs Down are Plain F*cking Stupid

  • the bass sounds so good , and that keyboard solo wow and i dont even like keyboard

  • the drummer is a 152' Sabian ride

  • did buddy guy make this version or srv?

  • @wagz420 buddy made it and SRV take it to new level.

  • @wagz420 Congratulations, you just asked the dumbest question ever asked.

  • 1:42 cycki!

  • Does anyone know about how he uses sustain at 2:46 ?

  • @peonwarrior Its part sustain part feedback. Tube amps are great for that kind of tone and feedback. Of course, it could just be that Buddy is one bad mofo..

  • @GUITARMASHER couldnt he just be usin a peddle?

  • @wagz420 I dont know. Its easier, I think, to get natural sustain and feedback from just the guitar and amp. Thats just my opinion though. The only pedal I use regularly is my Vox wah.

  • @peonwarrior probably a looper, magic or skill

  • It don't get any better ................. !

  • Buddys sustain is so sweet ,if u think that was cool check his version of voodoo child wit his polka dot strat even more sustain its all in his hands or set up either way buddy guy is the shit !!!!!

  • the only way for this getting better would be srv playing along

  • holly fuck man.....

  • guitar freaking tone

  • i love his sustain on that strat

  • I don't wanna mess with the drummer....

  • @zenyricardo fu7 the drummer, buddy rips face!!!

  • his band is huge.. in every way possible ;)

  • Buddy Guy Rulessssssssssssss

  • @sixsixseveneight yea, eric clapton started a rehab facility called crossroads and all the benefits from this concert go to that to help people get clean and sober

  • Buddy is the MAN!

  • the first word he shouts into the mic: instant goosebumps

  • do seriusly anyone doubt buddy cold do this?

    everyon looks up to SRV.

SRV looked up to jimi hendrix, jimmi hendrix looked up to budddy guy,

buddy guy lookes up to god, (god lookes up to me :)

    FACT

  • Who's the piano player?

  • @urastellar Marty Sammon.

  • NASTY!!!! :)

  • Nice to see Buddy's version rather than SRV's cover even if Buddy did nick it from Freddie King's "Just Picking" :)

  • @Beautifulsarah100 Well, I'm a chick and the critters go with me.

  • Hopefully Clapton's watching close enough to learn something.

  • I saw Buddy live about 10 years back, had 3rd row seats. At the end of the show, he threw his pick right to me. If this house ever catches fire, I am grabbing the cat, 2 dogs and that guitar pick. I have never seen any performer that could put out the amount of energy that he does. Love you, Buddy!

  • @Freespiritinpa If it's a really bad fire and don't have a shitload of time, you should evaluate the animals' worth prior to it starting. You are one lucky dude!

  • Hahahaha love the Clapton's reaction,he's looking and thinking:"My God,I can't compare myself to this guy". :)

Jokeing, but if I had to choose, def my favorite is Buddy as the best blues guitarist of all time.

    Tnx for posting this! :)

  • this is why i love music

  • that's one big drummer lol

  • @joemunns56 he needs somewhere to store all his awesomeness :D

  • hahaha, i think the guy with the basketball shirt and the cap is soo cool :)

  • Bass player is a monster!

  • @MickAv8r I searched for this to hear Buddy, but that bass player hooks me every time.

  • I've said this before but i need to say this again:

    The keyboard solo is godly.

  • @000steelandstone000 I had to hunt this video down on youtube just so i could hear it again

  • Thats a BIG sabian t-shirt

  • Ha Clapton is in the crowd enjoying the show, Clapton's got good taste!!!

  • God I wanna be this famous one day! and play at this festivel and have eric clapton be looking at me on that stage!

  • Piano: Marty Sammond. Bass: Orlando Wright. Guitar: Ric Hall. Drums: Tim Austin

  • I love George but I love Giles and Marty more because had I never met Giles Corey and Marty Sammon, I would have never met George Guy, and I really love George!!

  • cool! eric clapton at :26

  • EXACTLY 49,000 "VIEWS!" -AND ANOTHER GREAT PERFORMANCE IN CHICAGO AT CROSSROADS 2010 LAST SATURDAY, JUNE 29

  • This man tours more than any musician ever, and he's 73 years old!

    Long Live Buddy Guy!

  • is that guy at the beginning jim belushi?

  • @MetallicaFan1108

lol noooooo it's mr scrooged Bill Murray

  • @MetallicaFan1108 No, its Bill Murray, he has hosted both Crossroads festivals in Chicago

  • @MetallicaFan1108 bill murray

  • Ass kickin guitar sounds!!!

  • Love this! Thanks a lot! Ace!

  • It don't get any better than "Buddy and his boys...and girls...he only plays with the best! "And he is the best so it's all gravy (as my daughter would say... :D).

  • far out dudes his first line never faisl to blow me away. MARRY HAD A LITTLE LAA-AAMB.. ROCK ON FOREVER BUDDY

  • For all you musicians out there . . . Check out how tight this band is. I saw Buddy in 2005 with the same guys. They are unbelievable. The most professional musicians you can ever imagine. Check out the piano player Marty Sammon. He's insane good. Never mind all that shite about who's good and who's not. Music is art not a competition. This blows the doors off!

  • Is it just me or is the backup guitarist not actually plugged in?

  • what a performer!

  • Thats some serious sustain.

  • Why doesn't the Rythm guitarist have a cable going into his guitar? :O

  • @LuXguitaR He's using a wireless system. :)

  • @LuXguitaR he has a special strap that lets him spin the guitar like a windmill 360 degrees in front of him, so he can't put the cable into the regular jack or else it would get tangled. it's a pretty awesome trick.

  • @caldarella It can have plenty of sustain with the "right" pickups a not necessarily huge distortion.. I have a strat too (custom alnico pickups) and it really holds sustain big time..

  • thanks Larry!! very nice ballad

  • fellas: we're lucky to have heard either of these guys in our lifetime, never mind both. I favor Buddy myself (although maybe not for consistency) =, but if Clapton could pass muster with Muddy, I think we should let him slide

  • Beast.

  • the best song ever been written..... Buddy rocks !!!!

  • @tkbruno1 Clapton doesn't play the blues.

  • your fuckin stupid sorry

  • @BulletFrenzy543 and your mom is a whore. So there ya go. Dick

  • Dont get mad cuz you know your a fuckin idiot buddy guy is a great guitarist but eric clapton is better and more well known so dont start havin your period over the internet you no life

  • better know to who. Buddy Guy's been around alot longer than. Clapton. He may be better know to you but not to me.

  • @BulletFrenzy543 Umm yes he does...

  • @txlastrebel It's one thing if you don't like Clapton for whatever reason but I hardly think he's a "loser." He's been widely recognized as one of the worlds premier guitarists for about 45 years. Touring and playing sold out venues, releasing mostly successful albums, starting his own guitar festival, dating much younger beautiful women and worth tens of millions of dollars. I wish I could be such a loser.

  • easy geeze..I love Buddy to bits..he's the man himself...but Clapton ain't any loser either..so please be so kind and stop chatting shite...

  • Buddy IS the blues. (...well...Buddy and B.B.)

  • Is the dude on the keys the guy from Toto? if not he sure looks like him :D

  • @Gay4jonnydepp No thats Marty Sammon,He used to play keys for buddy's brother phil guy.

  • When the hell did fat joe start plying drums, lol joke, great song and great performance on all memebers behalf

  • he started playing drums when he realized that blues are the real black people music, not rap

  • Awesome!!!

  • Like homeade apple pie, Buddy is an American Classic.

  • go chiefs

  • known as father of psychidelic blues.. just love it ^_^

  • fuck shit! it is very dancing man. i cannot stop headbanging! good, very good!

  • thanx

  • question, did SRV cover this from buddy or di buddy cover it from SRV???

  • there's no doubt buddy's the best blues guitar player ever.

did anyone notice that the other guy doesn´t have his guitar plugged in? i can't figure that out

  • Wireless! (Duh)

  • if you take a good look you´ll see there´s NO wire plugged in, can´t be wireless

  • no there is a wire dude

  • Wow. I must be retarded. I thought you guys were saying Buddy didn't have a wire. My bad.

  • haha . . . . . .questioning these guys is like questioning gods will . . . .there definatly is a lead there.

  • 1:18 to 1:28. If that isn't a wire, I don't know what is.

  • he has a pack on his back

  • It wireless. You can clearly watch that in the videos he goes through all the crowd walking and sits with the crowd. You can clearly see HE's playing.

  • Yeah, he is so cool I was at a concert in Tallahasse,FL and he picked a 12 year old girl sitting beside me in the balcony and let her play the guitar with him. WOW it was awesome HE IS AWESOME!

  • @QSQCaito its wireless for sure, i played with a band and the bassplayer had a wireless unit and walked around in the crowd during one of the songs.

  • @mercedespazos acyually he' has this strap on that allows his guitar to spin. so yes he uses a wireless.

  • hey, i was talking about the other guy, the one in red shirt, the rythm guitar player. i don´t see any wire coming out of his guitar.

im mercedespazos, using my acount now.

  • torrity said strap on :-)

  • wahaaye i never do 50 cent played guitar haha there he is in teh box hat and football shirt haha

  • how in the HELL did he hold that note so long from 2:46????????

Buddy Guy never ceases to amaze me

  • It's call sustain !

  • I know that, but technique wise how does it do it???

Is it just the guitar he uses??? Cuz my guitar notes don't last THAT long!!

My conclusion at this point is that.... its Buddy Guy. Enuf said.

  • He's getting help from feedback from his amps...

  • You should be able to hold that not if you have a good amp....That was only about 15 seconds...

  • I think its feedback helping to sustain the note. Santana uses a similar technique. I could be wrong though . . .

  • i love how you can see clapton watchin all the artists perform, hes like a big kid, watchin all these players, rockin out

  • He's got that Sam Jackson thing going on, hasn't he?

  • ilove the way he starts the solo at 1:56.....so cool

  • Sorry for the user who asked for the name of th piano player, I deleted your post by mistake, anyway the piano player is Marty Sammon from Chicago, Dr. John look alike :D, he is still on tour with Buddy Guy they're now performing across US...in Virginia Beach tonight, and next February at Beacon theatre NY with BB King...I can't miss that ;)

  • Thanks for this! Buddy skidded in late, but he played great.

  • it's so funny when he sings HAHAHA

  • who's the cat on the keys? damn right he got the blues.

  • Marty Sammons, from Chicago. Great Player. Also has his own band, Lubriphonic. -Baron

  • Great!

    Thanx!!!

  • In the 2004 edition he played a note so long that while playing he drank a glass of beer and then he continued playing..:)He's 72 now...still looks like a young crazy guy...what a character he is.

  • That long note made me smile.
