Bob Barr thinks that perverted sickos who make "crush videos" that show pets being tortured to death should be legal. That's one of the reasons why he lost his next election.
SHAME on the Libertarian Party for embracing such a depraved little worm!
i actually just decided im voting Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party instead after reading an article Baldwin wrote entitled "Christian Right Just Doesn't Get It." In the 2nd paragraph he says, "We are pro-life; we stand for marriage as God defined it, we believe children should have the right to pray in school." He's too much of a theocrat for me. Im pro-choice and I support ALL individual rights including gays. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE! I guess I'm more libertarian than conservative.
It would be a good change to get the repubs and the demos out of the whitehouse for a while. Obama bin laden doesnt want to drill in our country because it will cut off his terrorists buddys. Obama bin laden is not a good change
Bob Barr voted for the Department of Homeland Security, the war and the Patriot Act.
Chuck Baldwin campaigned for Ron Paul in early primary states. He has also been consistently writing columns against the Patriot Act and the police state for YEARS! We need to build an infrastructure around Chuck Baldwin incase Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination. Bob Barr is out of the question.
I do not trust you Mr. Barr if you were part of the C.I.A. and have a CRAPY voting record then no one should trust you! We needed MARY RUWART or RON PAUL! I hope that you don't run next year and I pray that you are not the next president!
Good direction congressman Barr, but with all due respect, you have a lot of skeletons in your closet, and are a pretty recent libertarian as well.
CHUCK BALDWIN is the Constitution party nominee, a larger party than the Libertarians. Chuck Baldwin also better represents libertarian principles, which are inherent in the constitution. Google Chuck Baldwin and see.
I love Ron Paul, but people have to admit that Bob Barr is just a better speaker. RP supporters just need to get over the fact that Bob Barr is not Ron Paul. Ron Paul is the gold standard; we can't expect BB or anyone else to hold up to Dr. Know. I'm glad that there is a candidate as articulate as BB pushing for the cause.
I agree. While I'm a huge RP fan, Barr is much more articulate and answers questions much better than RP did in his debates. I was originally going to vote McCain (better of two VERY poor candidates), but will now vote for Barr/Root.
"I agree. While I'm a huge RP fan, Barr is much more articulate and answers questions much better than RP did in his debates. I was originally going to vote McCain (better of two VERY poor candidates), but will now vote for Barr/Root."

Seconded whole heartedly. Also guys, if Bob Barr was after power, do you REALLY think he would be seeking the nomination of the LIBERTARIAN PARTY? I mean common, pls...
I've been a democrat for the past 26 years. There is no difference between the Republican and Democrat parties anymore. Their only concern is to remain in office and continue the status quo. They do nothing about the speculators in Nymex trading sending oil off the scale which in turn escalates gas and food prices. I'm sick of politicians and I feel Bob Barr is our best chance for survival of the working class.More of the same with John McCain and Don't trust Obama, he'll screw u and ur mama
I think this is Barr's best interview yet. I like that he emphasized his complete Iraq exit. I hope in the future he explains that Obama does not favor a complete withdrawal, he just has campaigned in a way that makes people think he does. Obama favors a long-term, indefinite role and presence in Iraq.
I'm so sick of the spoiler questions! The entire point of running a race IS to take votes from the other people running. This is a prime example of the mindset America has towards third party runs.
Not only that, but I argue that Bob Barr isn't actually taking away ANY votes from either John McCain or Barack Obama, or from anyone else, because no candidate is entitled to ANY person's vote. So any vote that isn't for a Republican is rightful property of the Democrats, or vice versa? No party should ever so snobbishly assume that they are entitled to any individuals' votes, but these elitists have held their positions of power for so long that they think they deserve it.
More of us Ron Paul supporters will be supporting Barr as we find out about him. Barr is already polling at 4-5% in some polls. Barr will be on the ballot in all 50 states, Paul won't be on the ballot anywhere. Having Barr "see the light" has giving me hope for this country. If someone as statist as Barr can come around to liberty then this country isn't lost and we can take it back. Long live the Libertarian Revolution. bobbarr2008(dot)com
And unlike Ron Paul (or Chuck Baldwin in the majority of the states), Bob Barr will actually be on the ballot. Writing-in Ron Paul is exactly what the establishments wants people to do. They can just throw the votes away since they're not official. The write-in for Paul movement is the way the momentum will be silenced.
In what sense is Barr better than Obama or McCain? He stands for almost nothing...he is not libertarian, he's a conservative bureaucrat.
How many Federal agencies does he plan to dissolve? What's his position on the IRS and the Federal Reserve? Why won't he propose legalization of recreational drugs?
Why does he say he's against the Patriot Act even though he voted FOR it?
The irony is, Ron Paul is real Libertarian and he calls himself a Republican. Bob Barr is the exact opposite.
pauldelacroix, the first depts he'd get rid of is dept of education and eventually homeland security, agriculture, and energy as well. He is for states deciding their own drug laws that should be respected by the fed government. Since leaving congress he has lobbied for the Marijuana Policy Project. He admits he shouldn't have voted for the PA (he got the sunset clauses in though) and has actively tried to get it repealed for five years. Bob Barr is no Ron Paul but he doesn't have to be.
I don't agree with Bob Barr on everything or much of anything, but I am sure glad such a well known conservative is running as a (L). Keep the Revolution alive. Let the NEO CONS feel the pressure for disenfranchising a huge, very vocal part of the GOP this year.
The only other thing I have to say is that if Ron Paul had done what he should have done and went for and just won the Libertarian nomination, this video would already have hundreds of thousands of viewers. I would love to see the Barr movement grow like Paul's did, but it's hard for it to grow when it doesn't exist to begin with.
There is no strong movement behind Barr, only that some people HOPE he will attract one through media presence. I think RP did a disserve by not going third party, because now his movement is splintered in about 5 groups. Some now support Barr, some Baldwin, some Obama, some went back to not wanting to vote for anyone, and some people are still dellusional and expect RP to win the Republican nomination. Barr will never be able to unify the splintered Paulities behind him.
Dr. Paul has recently spoke positively of Barr. There is a real chance of Barr getting in the debates. Imagine if Hillary steals the nomination from Obama. Millions will look to other parties.
At least Bob Barr has admitted his mistakes and is sorry for the policies he shared in the Republican Party. I am a Libertarian and I did not support him until the party chose him. At least Root is his VP. I will always perfer Ron Paul over him but Im sure the Party at the convention, having watched the debate in full online, are not feeling tricked by this man. I support and I am voting for Barr for president.
BOB BARR VOTED FOR THE PATRIOT ACT! HE WILL NEVER GET MY VOTE. If people are looking to vote third party, vote for Chuck Baldwin. He is on the Constitution Party. He has also been a huge Ron Paul supporter and campaigned for him in many primary states. Chuck Balwin's the man if it's not Ron Paul.
Ron Paul didn't have thousands of viewers when he started his campaign. And RP is not out of the race.
When the republican convention will be over, all the real conservatives-constitutionalist will turn to Bobb Barr and hopefully he will benefit from all the enthusiasm generated.
Were you watching Ron Paul's video's just after he announced running back in February, March, & April? Didn't think so. It takes time for these things to build (and what did it for Paul was the debates).
Yes, actually I was! I was in the Ron Paul movement since the beginning, and there were thousands of viewers for his videos, not hundreds. Also, since the first Ron Paul meetup group started up, one year ago, hundreds of people were adding each day! Not so with the Barr meetups. While Paul was almost entirely grassroots driven, Barr seems almost entirely media-driven, which makes me nervous. I may end up voting for him (cause RP will no be on the ballot), but he's no Ron Paul.
I've been following Paul since the beginning as well and I can tell you his video's weren't getting thousands of hits until after he got in the debates. If Barr can get in the debates he will blow up. Bob Barr is not Ron Paul, fine whatever. That's not the point. The point is LP is the best vehicle to get the message to the mainstream and Barr has the potential this year to help plant the seeds of a legitimate opposition party.
You must be in a different reality because I indeed do remember Ron Paul's videos in early 2007, particularly the one titled "neo-conned", was already widely viewed. I think, as I have said, the most telling difference in the meetups. As the 6th RP meetup member in the 1st group, I can tell you that in May 2007 the meetups were absolutely EXPLODING, already thousands nationwide and adding hundreds everyday, with some groups doubling in size, or more, DAILY. And where's the Barr enthusiasm?????
I dont know what the big deal is. He votes like a neocon (DOMA, Iraq, Patriot Act). Ron paul has voted in what he stands for over the past 3 decades, this guy is lucky to hit 2 years.
Quality candidate?? I don't know what you guys were thinking when you nominated BB. He's a Republican, not a libertarian. He has no problem with the government restriction of liberties, he just wants it to be done at the state level.
He's pro-drug war (at the state level); he thinks the problem with the Patriot Act is its implementation, not its unconstitutionality and he's 'pro-life'. He is not a libertarian.
Id do ron paul and bob barr
