Without solar cell or chlorophyll, energy from Sun just turn into heat. Energy need a mechanism to use it.
eg, petrol without a engine, it can burns only.
if I punch on you face and give you some energy, will you be fed on with my punch and ask for more? I don't think so, my energy may make you lost your teeth only.
