  • I love this, I have turned my sister dancers, on to your style. I was in Egypt and danced with many Nubians. I died and went to heaven. I felt like the real me!

Sometimes I wish I did not come home! The dance there was joyful, spontaneous and beautiful!!

  • What's the song title?

  • @AlasseM ha laila ghair i believe is the title

  • @AlasseM ah ya jamalo by miami band

  • im khaleeji and she is the closest in you tube to our dance but needs to relax her moves a lil..make them look more Spontaneous...ironically,,the band singing are called "miami" :D

  • where is she from originally?

  • i keep coming to this song and video!!!! makes me really happy!!!!

  • OUTSTANDING Khadijah! God bless you girl, you totally rock!

  • I know that I have commented before, but watching KHADIJAH dance makes me feel BETTER! She is joyful, and so in tune with the music! Perfection!

  • I know that I have commented before, but watching KHADIJAH dance makes me feel BETTER!

  • Khadijah is a joy to watch!

  • very nice.......thanks for sharing

  • whats the name of this song ? anybody know?

  • excellent!!!

  • She is so lovely I was lucky to see her perform in person wonderful!

  • This is great to see real khaleeji style!

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • THE BEATS AND THE MUSIC

  • This is beautiful, and the interview is so informative--thanks so much for posting! Hope I can see Khadijah in person someday!

  • Khadijah is the best!!!

  • She dances so beautifully! I adore dancing Khaleeji! I have a show soon and I have the exact same dress hihih

  • am Saudi

i teach khalijy and classic belly dancing

  • I would think so... but I would also direct you to speak to khadijah directly as she can give you more on the dance from a first hand perspective.. she does have a website where she can be reached

  • hamdulillah, thats amazing. beautiful

  • she grew up in Jeddah

  • so Parveneh, I tend to see a lot of khaleegy dancers more subdued then this. Should we be focusing more on getting into the rythym and not so restrained. I'm speaking as if I were to teach this to my female students. Obviously for my males ones we'll be twirling the saif or asaya

  • thank you khadijah,,

    i love it,,

the sad thing is that nowadays khalijy girls dont dance like this any more,, there doing more modern and western dancing,,

so in a way,, your saving our culture ,,

    thanx,,

  • Oh I love this!!!

is the entire show available somewhere???

Good job Khadija, I loved the performance already, and thought "wow, the Gulf is so much in between Arabia and Asia, culture-wise, taking some of the African Arab style of dancing, yet incorporating Asian hand movements like from Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Persia". and then the lady elaborated on this :)

rare to see autenticism and knowledge as opposed to myth and fantasy in Western emissions on bellydancing!

    thanks so much!

  • Man, I'm Lebanese, our dancing is so boring compared to Khaleeji dance. But we're all Arabs, so much love <3 I'm proud to be part of this cool culture.

  • you are phoenician

  • This is so much better than the belly dance stereotype.

  • I think I got to see you perform once in Colorado before I moved out to Chicago - you are an amazing dancer! I love this video because you can't help but feel the joy of the dance, you look so ALIVE!!! Beautifully done.

  • Your dance is "Beautiful" personified...lovely

  • Can anyone tell me where I may find this song. I just love it. I feel both homesick and so proud to be Khaleeji all at the sametime. I love it!

  • Hi, I found it on Amazon but only as a download. So I had to download it to my computer.but you can burn it or load it onto your mp3 player too

  • really? under what name? I've been lookinng for like a month now.

  • the same name if you look you will see that I listed her website

  • This song is by miami band, its called ah ya jamalo

  • we know this already but thank you so much for your input!! :-)

  • its my first time have seen dance its realy amazing performance she make me proud.!!!

  • its realy nice performance i think she is the best belly dancer in the world ..so amazing .so lovely

  • Thanks for posting this video. I know so little about the khaleegi dances. I've yet to see a live performance. This was nice to see.

  • That was amazing. Khaleegi = love! It's nice to see the dance done so well.

  • no but she did have the opportunity to live in the Jeddah area for a number of years as a child. I will pass on your comment as I think she would appreciate it. :-)

  • thanks you :-). She has made us very very proud!

  • amazing and she is lovely. Is she Khaleeji? She looks like my mom and I am Khaleejiah :-)

  • Aywa! Very beautiful performance, one of the best Khaleeji soloists I have seen so far! It is great to see a well-educated folkloric dancer.

  • Thank you for that information :)

  • Actually, the song is called "Ha Laila Ghair"/ ها ليله غير by Miami. "Ah Ya Jamalo"/ أه يا جمالوا is on the same album. It is a good song but not this particular song. The album is called "Miami 2004"...you can find it on amazon.

  • Sorry if I spelled the Arabic wrong. My skills are meh these days. I just don't feel like getting ripped up for it. Anyway, I hope that helps!! :D

  • Ok last time I swear, haha

Considering the lyrics, which i've never paid attention to before, this song SHOULD be 'Ah Ya Jamalo'... However, almost everywhere it's listed as what I said above, Amazon, iTunes, etc...so I guess for the sake of getting ahold of it, use 'Ha Laila Ghair'. I'm done now... :)

  • I know what you mean... I found it on Amazon as an mp3 under Ha Laila Ghair but I notice that the lyrics say Ah ya jamalo lol

  • what a great teacher

  • several people have asked about the music... I asked and was told it is "Ya a gemelo "

    by Miami

  • very lovely dancing! wish there was not so much artistic interpretation with the camera work--just let us see her dance!!! she is beautiful.

  • yes workshops i would come to it..shes very good..ask her if she will come to charleston Sc area.

  • I will pass on your compliment and your request for a workshop. she did one here this past weekend and it was awesome.

  • thank you for this beautiful dance. I have never seen khaleeji done so well! Are you ever comming to the mid west to teach? (Workshop?)

  • Oh HELL YES! I'm so glad my bellydancing homegirl Khadijah is on here :) I was very lucky to learn my Khaliji from her, and with her knowledge and positive attitude about Middle Eastern dance she is a wonderful part of our Denver community, and I know this girl is gonna go FAR beyond that.

  • She lived in Saudi Arabia for 13 years of her life, spent her childhood growing up there so her knowledge is first hand.

  • She's absolutely beautiful and fluid. I love Miami and her interpretation of their music takes my breath away. I love how knowledgable she is about the dance form.

  • I agree with you I was there and it showed me the difference between a dance and just a performance!!!!

  • That is the first time that this dance ever brought passion and feeling to me. I was involved with dance. The rythm and beat was with me. I shared the joy of this dance. Yeah!!!

  • wonderful dancing and a lot of good info about the dance. Good to know

  • She dances so beautiful!!! I love her hand

    moveents!!! ;-D
