Yes you are right,..I have read a lot about Iran and its history now and I remember reading about the 1979 revolution. The people who wanted to get rid of the Shah went and crashed the homes of people who were loyal to him and Savak members. These young people and everyone in Iran have to find out where the basij and the rev. guard lives and do just the same to them I guess. Oh and the people from the Bazaar (??) have to start sabotaging work, just like back then. This regime is doomed.

I know so many Iranians here in the UK, the mother of a friend of mine, she went onto the streets in 1979 with a paper that said "no to the islamic republic" and she went to prison for two days, hence being pregnant in the 8th month and she still suffers even tho it was "only" two days. I think I agree with you about the status of Iran before and after Shah's reign. Iran still has an extremely well developed infrastructure and a very high amount of intellectuals. I am sure a lot of older persons were agains the Shah in 1979, but please don't forget that in Iran most people are young and most people in the post election rallies were students. Most of them were babies or not even born in 1979..they are so innocent, they have not deserved anything like this. No one has :(

rcohen01. I agree with everything you say except for 2 things. Turkey has NO place in the EU. Europe is a judeo-christian, greco-roman civilization, Turkey is NOT. Worse, it still refuses to acknowledge the genocide it perpetrated against the Armenians back in 1915. Turkey still persecutes minorities, among them Kurds, Alevis, Christians, etc. "Advancement" is NOT the SOLE criteria to evaluate how civilized a society is.
