Technology is pushed forward to increase profit. To make us more productive = increase profit. Profit is the foundation not how we can live enjoyable lives. We would have reached a different evolutionary branch in the technology if we didn't have profit at the core of everything we do. I include myself in the profit centered world we live in. Technology for the benefit of humanity not sponsored by a multi-national corp who have bought our leaders and use massive spin and ad to increase $
very careful thinking on your part. Well said. I think that farmer should have told those plows to entertain themselves ,while he fed and visited his local community . The next day he could have helped his friends get their crops in motion. This would have been the birth of the 5 day weekend .
@snifflesofdeath excellent! yes.....there's more than enough for ALL of us to have wonderful lives if we can leave behind the old reptile-brain limbic reactions (fear, fighting, greed, etc.)... Cooperation really could/can lead to a new kind of earth John Lennon sang about in "Imagine"
I think it's not just about the way back then or the the way now, Its more to do with knowing that way back then things were oversimplified, loyalty and duty were conditioned. best example would be of a youth empowered to correct the mistakes of the past. It would mean that each successive generation could self analyze it's past look at all the lessons learnt from them and then set about writing a new blueprint of life or for a nation evolving a new constitution..
If we can work on each successive generation on improving the morals and laws that govern our society through our constitution it would have a resulting impact on all the technology that is produced as well as enable us to find a means of collectively bringing together the fragmented parts of the world towards a unifying goal. If the earth is taken as a seed then space is the soil through which it must flower outwards and spread life outwards. life with too many parts not working together..
Because the choices that need to be made are going to have to do with letting go of some of the things that technology empowered us towards and new technology if guided by evolving moral principles that are accepted and held universally will result in life moving away from traditional mechanisms and methods and gradually we will understand that we have to look at our selves as intelligent parasites..we consume energy, we move from one point to another, sometimes with no specific direction and...
And expend energy. So energy now must have some reasonable direction, even if it is incremental over a period of time and through generations. It has to be that each successive generation does what it is meant to do, to leave behind something for the future generation to follow through with. That does not mean that the next generation builds a better killing machine left by it's forefathers, but that they admit that this was a misuse of resources and end that phase of human stupidity for good.
well..i think this will have to be read from down up i seem to have replied to myself and put the end on top and the beginning at the bottom..well, it goes to show that you can still do things differently..so in essence we make mistakes and change conventions if we have to ( just as i have here in this reply) and leave the justification for the future to enjoy and appreciate our efforts..ofcourse in my case my son would scratch his head an wonder at what i was doing writing all this..I agree.:)
@OmarHaleemOne well, I am delighted you just shared all of that with us. Thank you. We need more and more people who will wake up (shed conditioning, real-ize Who They Really Are, be willing to re-imagine together a whole new world).
@AwakenSafely I actually liked the way you set about explaining this concept and to some extent i understand also that human condition has a lot to do with our collective perceptions. We agreed to put humans on top and our spiritual connection together was based on that covenant. This collective covenant couldn't be kept as some progressed and some regressed back. I think the challenge lies in balancing the way we perceive our environment as a partner rather than our tool.
@AwakenSafely ...I also think the recent debate about womens right to abortion is an example of how men are still capable of incepting this guardianship and pro-life concept into the environment. The closest relationship to mother earth is the human mother. By stopping her from exercising her right to chose wether she wishes to bring life on earth, we are in actuality using that as a tool to communicate the same and condition mother earth with the same agenda. It won't work with her atleast..
@AwakenSafely It stands to reason that this planet has a much greater stake to be in control of itself rather than be bidden and controlled by man. If science can,it is capable of removing the womb from a mothers body and replicate human birth without the need of a woman's conscience or being. The same thing can happen to this earth..if nature loses it's own right to chose it will create a world where humans program it as well as it's progeny..that should never be allowed to happen.
@AwakenSafely ..People must understand that to see science in a spiritual perspective you can look at the example of the baby mice whose heart was sliced and it's regenerative powers were touted as a 'scientific' breakthrough. This amply proves the sheer insensitive and desensitized manner in which science is allowed to progress. It must be a field where ethics and common sense spiritual values are imbued into the system of scientific research..
@AwakenSafely ...there are rodents in Mozambique which are helping humans clear minefields..that contradiction leads those who provide the basis of testing on lab rats with a clear proof that this causes a conscious planet to see things differently..it means that certainly we are on top of the food chain, but she is ultimately going to exercise her right to determine wether we are fit..that is spiritual equality..that is why..women were attacked and killed as witches..
@AwakenSafely ...because man was afraid of her growing spiritual power and her wealth of knowhow about healing and unlocking natures secrets. It's a mother daughter relationship that was destroyed by all faiths..it's a pity really that our ancestors left these truths there right in front of our eyes to see...and we still don't seem to get it..it's why the youth are he key, but they have to be properly educated to be able to ask and question their elders principles and think for themselves..
@AwakenSafely ..:) thank you, i found that very well thought out and presented..i initially wanted to use that parable and talk about the two, the man who didn't ask questions, and the man who brought answers, one had to acquire education and be empowered with the ability to look for solutions. the other with the foresight to strategically think about the future of what answers he was providing...both had an important role which was missing..
It is truly upsetting to think that we do have the technology to benefit every single human being on this planet, but yet it is being suppressed to keep the current system running the way it is. Great video :)
Reminds me of a conversation I had with a couple of people regarding the question: "Have we progressed beyond the scope of our own abilities?" In other words, has our ability to create problems surpassed our ability to solve them? This question can also be applied to technology. We can create new technologies, but we cannot control them.
@craighartonline yes.... feels like we've been on this unconscious train for a long time. exciting ride, but it feels like we've been through enough cycles to do something intentional for a change
Most of the benefits from advances in technology have been sucked up by the state or wasted. It is true though that we do have less toil, agriculture once took 80% of the population but now takes only 3% IIRC. Peak oil could reverse the trend if fusion isn't cracked in time to pick up the slack.
Have you heard of Buckminster Fuller's "Anticipatory Design Science"? Might be of interest to you.
Where can i get the text version of that story?
