I have this album and the KDKB Arizona sounds album they were on. Also got too meet the singer and lead guitarist at a baskin robbins in phoenix in 1984.
@1pieceband - Yes a chick, Peggy Murphy. Saw a rerun of Bones last night with " Noddy Comet" performing this song and had to run down the real band. A great tune!
Yeah, i was trippin' when I was watching Bones tonight, to hear it!!! I was like " can't believe it!!!" Someone from the show is from Phoenix...I can bet on it!!! I had Put on Blue Shoes LP as a KID. And saw them Live a few times!!! GREAT POWER POP! Who remembers the club Merlins on Mill?????
No sé cómo va a ir acerca de la descarga del episodio de "Bones" de televisión. Hice este video de los músicos en 1981. ¿Ha realizado una búsqueda en Internet para "Bones?"
Did Peggy Murphy occasionally sing as a guest with the band Billy Clone and the Same? Seems like it was her who did some Rocky Horror Picture Show covers that were incredible. Didn't last long. Later the same night after the band finished performing at their usual location North of the River Bottom, the lead singer OD'd on Heroine.
This song was used in a recent Bones episode - "Mayhem on the Cross." In the show, it was supposed to be a song that one of the characters recorded back in the day as "Noddy Comet."
Is it just me or does anybody notice the guitar player to the left? He's got MOVES!!! Lol. Does anybody know where I can find these lyrics? Also heard it for the first time on Bones, but I can't find them anywhere. The song's just too old I guess! :D
I should be able to upload a higher quality video. When this file was posted, Youtube did not have the HQ and HD options. The only recording I know of was released on a 7 inch 33.3 rpm record. Sometimes they are available on Amazon.
I saw them play at Legend City when I was about 16. We missed them playing this song and we sat through all the covers and eventually the crowd convinced them to play this one again.
WOW! I remember hearing their album (?)(well, different) version on the radio (KDKB). This band was really good, their ties weren't TOO skinny, the obviously had their feet planted very firmly in the new wave & rock scenes. Where's the CD?
they were students at ASU and were first featured on KDKB's arizona sounds vol. 3 I think. the girl and lead guitarist got married and rerecorded better in 1983 but only put it on a tape. roads to moscow in down town tempe had a few of there t-shirts but not too manny people knew of them. I have there record too.
Holy cow! was this for a cameo on Wallace & Ladmo? Did these guys (gal) ever play at Friar Tucks? Did they ever hit the big time...Will they ever make a comeback. Will you take me to Legend City?
This is the coolest thing ever--where did you find this? I still have my "Put On Blue Shoes" vinyl, had no idea they ever did a video. Thanks for posting it!
You're welcome. I actually have a couple more of their videos. I was involved with the filming back in the day... Will try and get them up on YouTube. Please let other fans know. Thanks !
