this s8 is chipped with 480hp as u can see in other video and this x6 got 408 twin turbo hp and if its chipped u get about 460hp but more torque as the s8 so that race is ok
P.S. When the new S8 comes out in 2011 it will have a tuned version of the TT 5.2 liter V-10 that the current RS6 has making between 700-730 bhp. Would like to see another race then. Twin turbos for everybody!!! Long live the horsepower wars!
Hmm... Facts: Curb Weight X6 - 5324, S8 - 4586. Horsepower: X6 - 555, S8 - 450. Therefore power to weight: X6 - 9.59, S8 10.19. Quarter Mile: X6 - 12.81 @ 110.020MPH, S8 - 13.29 @ 109.7MPH. Conclusion from 0 to about 110 or so, the X6 simply outguns the S8. After that point, aerodynamics don't lie. The S8 will then hunker down and show its tailights to the X6 all the way up to their shared speed limiters of 155MPH. Simple physics.

it is a very neat car. i am interested in an X6, but i need it to be able to deal with snow. i don't care about the fuel economy. apparently it's sporty, which is good. hopefully it's good for taking people out on dates.
They handle well in the snow too, but you'll have to get snow tires because they come with high performance street tires. The x-drive is great and performs well with the right tires. In fact, type "X6 in snow" and "X6 in Mud" and you'll see lots of videos on them. Some with snow/mud tires, some with street and theres a BIG diff in outcome.
If you're trying to impress people, it does the job. Every time I take clients out they go on and on about how much they love it...its a good choice!
I was considering the Cayenne too. Drive it and the X6 50i. The Cayenne is significantly slower and the ride is SO rough and loud. The seats aren't nearly as comfortable compared to the X6's multi-contour seats. Plus the NEW i-drive is freak'n great!
Options you must have are the 50i model, upgraded tires, cooled/heated seats, multi-contour seats, heads up display, soft close doors, massaging seat and the leather dash. The cost jumps but its totally worth it and porsche doesn't offer a lot.
X6 is way better dude...the cayenne is just an Audi/VW in disguise that offers less options, slower performance, rougher ride and less services...and they charge far more when fully loaded! Stick with the X6 50i and you'll be happy.
i'll have to try them both out but i'd have to agree with you that BMW is better value and better equipped. i just really like Porsches, so i'm somewhat biased. we'll see though! the X6 is pretty cool.
i was thinking about it. i tried the x6 and really liked it, and i liked the Cayenne as well. my friend has a Touraeg which he really likes. ill ask to try his out. I wouldn't want him to think i'm copying him, however.
It does look odd...in the wrong colors. I just got a Vermillion Red 2010 50i in November and got it fully loaded. I get so many compliments by so many people at the most random places. People really like it because it looks beefy but sporty whereas so many suvs just look fat and lethargic.
Most people never take their SUVs even as far as the mud. I got mine because I live in a large city with steep driveways everywhere and car swallowing pot holes...plus it floods at times. The X6 is GREAT!

i was thinking about it. i tried the x6 and really liked it, and i liked the Cayenne as well. my friend has a Touraeg which he really likes. ill ask to try his out. I wouldn't want him to think i'm copying him, however.

It does look odd...in the wrong colors. I just got a Vermillion Red 2010 50i in November and got it fully loaded. I get so many compliments by so many people at the most random places. People really like it because it looks beefy but sporty whereas so many suvs just look fat and lethargic.
Most people never take their SUVs even as far as the mud. I got mine because I live in a large city with steep driveways everywhere and car swallowing pot holes...plus it floods at times. The X6 is GREAT!

@armebear mmmmm dont think so..BMW: 407 hp, 600nm. Audi: 450 hp, 540nm. Sometimes torque is more important than power..and 407 "BMW hp" are like 500 "Audi hp". Sould know it..

This is obviously an X6M which is 555bhp compared to the S8's 450bhp which is a no contest. I still love seeing the S8 which has the Lamborghini engine in it get dusted by a virtual SUV (SAV as BMW would have it) lol... Never mind Audi, you'll get to the BMW standard one day lol...

S8 is faster than X6 50i.
BMW 0-100 = 5.4 sec
S8 0-100 = 5.1 sec
Look at the technical data sheets at the company websites.

That is pretty shameful to have an X6 dust you despite the fact that the S8 has a Lamborgini engine in it even if it is detuned. It just shows you how much superior BMW is over Audi, Merc and anything else for that matter. Don't believe me? Check out TopGear comparison between RS4, C63AMG and M3. The Ultimate Driving Machine is STILL BMW hands down. And yes I got one ;-)

no the most hilarious thing is that the Audi Q7 diesel V12 is almost as fast as a BMW M5 and that the R8 V10 and RS6 are faster than any BMW at this time. So BMW is superior ? Clearly not.

@maxou5757 My man u got every thing wrong because audi q7 v12 has a 0-60 5.4sec and the new x5 x6m have 4.7sec and the m5 has 4.4sec and r8 v10 and rs6 are new models and they use the Lambos v10 engine wait till next year till bmw comes up with the new M5 . Older model audi rs6 was slower than the M5 . im not saying that audi is a bad car and i dont like it but performance has one name BMW. Check out the new 760li whooping amg ass

Hear hear!!! Yes I know one day Audi will catch up to the performance king - BMW. That's why they've always used the aid of turbos coz they couldn't match the standard BMW machines. Only now is BMW introducing turbos which would totally obliterate Audi or Merc.

No the more hilarious thing would be for an Audi Q7 TDi V12 to try and handle around a corner like an M5 lol... That's just a silly comparison. The R8 V10 is a new car for Audi. When the new M5 comes out, it will kick that. And on and on it goes. So you're right in that its faster than any BMW "at this time". Audi has always used the aid of turbos, not historically with BMW.

@maxou5757 The current R8 V10 is only 530bhp. There's news that the new M5 will be a V10 twin turbocharged pounding out around 600 ponies. That's power that Audi can only dream of so... :-p

lol the R8 does not need 600hp to be fast you know. The new M5 will be V8 and probably around 580hp which means it will still be slower around a track and on a straight line than the R8 V10

@maxou5757 No little girl you didn't read what I posted properly. The V8 version is old talk. Latest BMW news shows there's talk of scrapping the modified V8 from the X5/X6 and constructing a totally new engine but a V10 instead. That's why I said around 600 ponies coz the V8, as you correctly put it (for the first time in your life) was around 580bhp. Like I said, its power that AUdi can only dream of so... :-p

Its because Audi is thinking ahead of the powerhouse that is coming which would burst the bubble of the R8 - hence upgrade to the V10. Audi is soooooo scared.
