Jimi Hendrix is a revolutionary guitarist who amazed everyone. He did things that no one ever had done before. However, Rory was just the best. If you saw him live, and I've seen Both Hendrix and Rory live, Rory would rock out the house. Hendrix had many grat songs, but his style seems dated today. Today, I almost never listen to Jimi, but still Always listen to Rory, no matter how old I've become. I especially like his earlier music with Taste and his first two solo releases.
Jimi Hendrix was cited in a 1969 interview shortly after Woodstock: Interviewer: "So Jimi, what's it like to be the best guitarist in the world?" Jimi: "I don't know, ask Rory Gallagher".[37][38] from Wikipedia Rory Gallagher page
What a great atmosphere reigned over all gigs in 70s!!! Will it ever get back to us? Or will modern pop-crap stage with all stupid voiceless morons dominate further? What should be done to get rid of all freaking shit?
Don't understand why people will say one artist is better than other it's all ones choice if your a fan of jimi then hes the greatest to you same goes for Rory
did he die from drinking?doesnt make him less of a man.shit almost killed me 2.alcohol took my sister.its the worse drug there is if not used in moderation
wow scotty , you were there, met him at the bridge house canning town east london once early eighties, lovely Irish man , worlds a sadder place without him , been listenin to him for ?yrs what guitar player , but what a nice man . RIP Rory
This really may be his best song ever...the moody, bluesey feeling surpasses anything. Man, what an artist and performer this guy was! Been "into" his music from my 16th, now almost 32 years ago, but regratably never saw him perform live. To my humble opinion there were 3 big ones who really contributed to the electric blues: Rory, Stevie Ray Vaughn and old Muddy Waters. Jimmy Hendrix is a world of his own, so I don't mention him here, there's no comparison to him. Still missing Rory, though...
Sadly this is the tune they carried Rory from the church to his final resting place. . Saw him from 1969, various times. Thanks for all the good times Rory.
I love that song from the isle of white,,called,,, I feel so good,,,But alas ,,it doesnt seem to be on video,,,I play it dead loud before a night out ,,just to Psyche me up,,I saw him live once,,,,What a great bloke !!!
I play this Rory song every morning before I go to work, sets me up for the day.
This must be the best version yet, just fantastic, thanks for this Trevor and thanks for the info on Rory, this is great for new Rory fans, also thanks to santacruezz for sending me this.

it's my preferred version too. So raw. Such a premonition. And we'll all end up there:
I'm standing on the landing,
There's no one there but me,
That's where you'll find me,
Looking out on the deep blue sea.
