but the good news is you can take your box to a friends house

if you have hbo or showtime or something like that

and your friend dont have it

or if you have 2 boxes with hbo showtime cinamax

you get a bill for $90.00 and he gets a bill for like $50.00

you split the boxes and the cost no you pay $70.00 each

but if you do that just get satellite and buy a dish

way cheaper just get 1 bill for all ch.. $90.00 cut in half $45.00 each

Why do this? You are losing the benefit of a progressive signal for stations that broadcast in 720p. If you are watching sports or anything with a lot of fast paced motion, 720p will give a better picture than 1080i. I have my Time Warner box set to both 720p and 1080i, and the box outputs both depending on the station I am watching.

let me guess you installed the box yourself cause when we install them we set them up for 1080i when we put them in. You wasted your time messing with it.

@ChannelNTA actually no i had a tech come in, because i dont know everything. i would rather ask questions and observe. and the tech didnt set it to 1080i it was set for 480i/auto as default. i know it is supposed to auto set the resolution but i noticed on some channels that were supposed to have 1080i (i had a DVR before this) so i went tinkering because i was bored.

@ProjectZro i agree with you! in the sense that many tech's dont know what they are doing! so i believe you that tech did not do it right! many of them say tehn can do all just to get teh job but once in the job they used cell phone to call their buddies and ask. trust me i seen it.
