@ov010 Obviously you're not a lawyer or you'd know that Bin Laden is not a US citizen, but an international terrorist, mass murderer, and war criminal, and therefore not entitled to an arrest or trial, according to both US and international laws and protocol. You also don't seem to know much about the circumstances of his death: in his last stand he used his "family"- specifically one of his five wives- as a human shield. He could have come quietly and been captured, but chose not to.

@rockon6191 Sorry for losing my rag earlier. The reason why I think it was wrong to execute/assassinate him, is in by doing so, the US is legitimising Bin Laden as a military target when in fact he is a 'state-less' terrorist.

This is also the same reason why I think the Guantanamo Bay prisoners should be tried in civil courts, not by the military. This type of action by the US only justifies Al Quaeda's false belief that they are fighting a legitimate war.

The problem with trying terrorists in US civil courts is that they are constitutionally reserved for citizens- we can't legally try non citizens. Our options with captured terrorists are military tribunals or returning them to their respective countries to be tried, where they are often released. We also are technically fighting unlawful combatants, another tricky variable. So it's quite a predicament.

Whether you're a liberal or a conservative, it just feels cheap and wrong to use the medium to campaign and propagate, especially for a company like second city, which is supposed to put comedy first and not have any sort of agenda.
